They put out a twitter threadI already asked in Reddit but, did Bungie say something about all the Activision/ Blizzard news ? I mean I remember they (Bungie) celebrate the contract rupture with them (ActBlizz) and all this thing can give a new sense to that celebration.
yeah no shit.
An all hands would be a surefire way to immediately have it visible on youtube by someone who doesn't deal with this shit and records and publishes it.
"Smaller discussion groups" serve absolutely no purpose except leadership knowing exactly who talked, if someone talked. A lot more pressure before someone decides to make anything public that's happening or being said in these meetings.
Also, sitting in a small round meeting with the entire goddamn lead staff is SURELY helping honest conversations and a safe feeling to speak up lol.
Wooly or his podcast today basically said the same thing. It's like the Catholic Church shuffling sexual predator priests between parishes.
Not surprising. It is well known Riot is another cesspool like Activision Blizzard.Damn Riot was warned about John Polidora and still hired him Oooooof.
I've received this sort of letter twice in my life. I was "lucky" they had no control over my work. I have no idea what mindset makes men think it's anything but creepy and terrifying.God, I've seen letters like that before and it's incredibly disturbing every time. And every single guy who wrote those letters thought he was the "nice guy" who women didn't "appreciate." Narcissistic creeper fucks, one and all.
New York Times said:Ms. Stein, 28, who worked at Activision from 2014 to 2017 in a customer service role, helping gamers with problems and glitches, said she had consistently been paid less than her ex-boyfriend, who joined the company at the same time she did and performed the same work.
Ms. Stein said she had once declined drugs that her manager offered at a holiday party in 2014 or 2015, which soured their relationship and hampered her career. In 2016, a manager messaged her on Facebook, suggesting she must be into "some freaky stuff" and asking what type of pornography she watched. She said she had also overheard male colleagues joking that some women had their jobs only because they performed sexual favors for male superiors.
"It was really hurtful," Ms. Stein said, adding that she felt like she had to "endure it."
Does this have a bottom? Will California be able to extend the lawsuit to encompass the tidal wave of new findings of abuse and if they could what would proper corrective action possibly look like?New York Times said:Ms. Welch, who joined Activision in 2011 as vice president of consumer strategy and insights, said she had known that the company was reputed to have a combative culture but had been intrigued by the prominent role.
Then at a hotel on a work trip that year, Ms. Welch said, an executive pressured her to have sex with him because she "deserved to have some fun" after her boyfriend had died weeks earlier. She said she had turned him down.
Other co-workers suggested she "hook up" with them, she said, and regularly commented on her appearance over the years. Ms. Welch, 52, also said she had been repeatedly passed over for promotions in favor of less qualified men.

"It's been weeks since your boyfriend died, you deserve to have some fun. Let's fuck?"The New York Times just published an article on the sexual abuse accusations at Activision Blizzard that contains some new reporting. Be warned, some of this is very upsetting content vis a vis sexual harassment.

Guess what other big gaming companies are based in LA and have had issues....So basically Riot is where Blizzard sends their sexual predators after they hit a certain amount of internal complaints.
Also, Riot hired the guy named in the current sexual harassment lawsuit against Blizzard just this year, 3 years after they supposedly "cleaned house and fixed everything " in their own company after being sued by the state of CA for the exact same thing Blizzard is bring sued by the same state for now.
What the fuck is going on with these two companies?

Used to do backend IT at a fortune 500 insurance company with locations around the world and they owned their own building by WallStreet. Shit like this was 100% going on. I've seen it first hand and I've seen how long its taken to get certain VPs to stop harassing/testing summer interns. To that companies credit, 1 of them did get fired but it's coupled with the fact their wife also worked at the same company and found out.The game industry is really fucked up. If anyone tried this shit in the insurance company I work for, they'd be fired on the spot.

Literally speechless. Are these people actually aliens poorly impersonating humans?

That's the irony of it I guess. My former employer did a LOT of community charity and inclusion work. There were MANY women VPs and Executives, a lot of minority VPs as well. It's a company that had 3 tiers of executives just because it was so large. All the employee groups I was a part of were amazing and over the years got a lot of corporate support.Maybe it's different in the US or maybe it's my company, but everyone I know here respect each other and act professionally(with the occasional gifs in Teams for funsies). I speak with a lot of employees in my day to day job and it's always nice and respectful. There is a lot of women in managing positions in our various departments, even our IT VP is a woman, so maybe that's part of the reason why there is no "frat boy" culture in here.
Since it's all digital this year, I wouldn't be surprised if they just throw out fabricated release dates for hot titles (that will later be 'delayed') and not even touch on these issues in any substantiative measure. So will JAB have another apology speech at Blizzcon this year? Seems like yearly tradition at this point.
IMO, I think it would be best if Blizzard does not have blizz con this year.So will JAB have another apology speech at Blizzcon this year? Seems like yearly tradition at this point.

I think the polar opposite will be the case. They will literally open the virtual conference with a pre-recorded, supremely carefully worded inclusivity and equity statement and promises to better themselves. And if they do the regular hotswap of speakers, every new speaker will start out with another inclusivity statement ("my experience, in my in experience, my team, my friends at Blizzard" etc.).Since it's all digital this year, I wouldn't be surprised if they just throw out fabricated release dates for hot titles (that will later be 'delayed') and not even touch on these issues in any substantiative measure.
Yeah like this reads like something a middle school kid would write. Maybe immature lower grade high school.this is shit you expect from a teenager who still struggles understanding friendship and relationship.
to be a grown ass man sending people these pathetic letters--to a fucking work colleague--is a whole other level of shitiness.
