Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou 89-90 (FINAL)
What an emotional and downright hilarious finale. This is the Kawaisou way. One second I'm tearing up and struggling to hold onto these feelings and the next I'm full on crying because I can't stop laughing.
Kawaisou is now one of my all time favorites. It's got such an incredible balance of romance and comedy, it's almost magic. The timing of the jokes and emotional bits are near perfect and they flow back and forth effortlessly. I grew to love all of the characters and how much chemistry they have and I'm profoundly sad that it's finished. I loved following Usa and Ritsu's romance and the first year of their relationship together. I don't know if the series got axed as I felt the ending was a little rushed but overall it was a satisfying and an emotional conclusion. I wish we got more closure for Mayumi and Sayaka however.
Miyahara Ruri is definitely one of my favorite authors now. She's a damn genius. I look forward to the extra Kawaisou chapters and finishing the rest of Love Lab whenever they get translated / released in the US. I don't know what to do with my life now >_<

Yup it ended a few months ago. There have been 2 omake chapters so far and I heard there might be a spin off sometime later. Not sure if people misunderstood and by spin off she actually meant those omake chapters.

It's been like almost 2 months or something? I started reading Mousou Telepathy to fill the void but it just isn't the same.
I've been doing the same with Takizawa-san. It's nice and fun, but it's not the same. Plus they've almost caught up.
I'll check that out. I've also been reading "My Senpai is Annoying" as well. It's adorable but I wish the releases were more regular.
In other good news, Wonder Cat Kyuu-Chan got serialized. It's the daily dose of fluff I needed.

The slow reveal of Mayumi over the last 5-6 pages before this moment was brilliant. This is definitely one of my all time favorite romantic comedies. These last two chapters were just perfect. Usa is the man.
The whole confession and the punchline left me rolling. Good times!

This was quite a cringe inducing read.
The basic premise is that the dude on the cover uses his abilities (getting people to believe something is real) to kill people. He can convince someone the plastic knife he's holding is real and "stab" someone, so that person, believing they have been truly stabbed, die. Or make someone believe they have been poisoned and they die.
He does it because he likes to see people's misguided desires bring them down and break them.
The cringe obviously comes from the motives of these kills and events. For example, one of the last chapters in the volume (maybe the last chapter in the volume) is about a young mother that wants him to kill her infant son because she's young and having to take care of the kid isn't letting her live her own life (for example she can't get a shitty dude to come to her home and fuck her because she has a kid, oh poor lady) and her own mother won't get off her case. He accepts the request and tells her everything is ready, and once everything is set in motion, the young girl is the one getting killed. Unbeknownst to her, the main guy doesn't kill kids (because they don't have desires they can tell him so he can't have fun in seeing these desires breaking them down) and the girl's own mother hired him to kill the girl so she could get the kid (she's a professor who wrote a book on how to raise kids) to raise him however she see fit. Since our MC likes to see how these twisted desires break people down, he leaves a nice suggestion on the old harpy and she now sees the kid's face as a crying blood twisted face asking her to give him back his own mother.
So, the material of the chapters, which all deal with different characters making requests, is always in the opposite category of feel good stories. While each chapter deals with a different person making a request, there is something connecting them all together, which is a policeman investigating Usobuki (the killer) since he knows he's the one that made her superior kill herself and is bent on finding out how he manages to do it and making him pay for it.
I'll be honest, the way Usobuki likes to toy with people had me think of Tsuyu

I dunno about that, it seemed shoehorned in if you ask me. When this all happened people were like wtf (me included) and needed others to point out the prior reference. I still like the manga, it's fun which a lot other shonen manga's fail at miserably and has quite a few charismatic characters.

One of the best parts of the YGO mangas is how amazing and how perfect the draws are so that we dont waste time with building up strategys and circling conversations like the anime.
On turn 1 Eve gave us one of the most amazing first turns in YGO manga history, going through Pendulum shokan, building an overlay network, multiple effect activations, and giving us four 10 star monsters and she even went down to 1000 life points twice and recovered it all back. Amazing.
I was like Sakaki Yuuya even. Go Eve.
