I'm not sure why anyone would expect Microsoft to start announcing hardware numbers. Many seem to have tunnel vision when it comes to US sales. Xbox has always been moderately competitive in that region, it's worldwide (65%+ of PlaySations market) where they've struggled.

Worldwide we moved from a two console, to three console, market. Switch moving into a secure second place has reduced Xbox demand and marketshare further across Europe and Asia. The UK market is a best case scenario (by a very considerable margin) for Xbox outside the US, but the continued strength of PlayStation, and rise of Nintendo, is clear to see.

Which was my point it was infrequent.

But this conversation has gone on too long the context is gone now. But my whole point was sold through was infrequent

Microsoft would also announce sales milestones for Europe and EMEA during the 360 era.

I would say drop that conversation. Microsoft was in a better position last gen so they could state those milestones. There isn't anything to blow their horn on for worldwide Xbox One sales.

2013's 80 million 360's sold through and 84 in Sumner 2014 was likely the closest we got numbers near each other outside the start of that gen.

They reported a number one time in 2012 but its debatably shipped.

The next sold was in like 2010.

It wasn't frequent.

Not close to what Sony does with the ps4 now or the ps2.

Xbox hasn't been known to throw sold figured around frequently even when winning.

The conversation was about a person claiming microsoft reported ssold numbers frequently when they were winning. Then used that as why the Xbox one is telling.

Except they didn't announce sold consoles frequently, they announced shipped and there was a lot of console wars about his many 360s were on the shelf.

it's pretty simple, Xbox one is doing good, but not as good as Microsoft hoped. Gonna rememb you that Microsoft said they wanted to sell 200 million Xbox one at one point, and they clearly missed that mark.
