And the bit about Trudeau cutting a cheque, what's that about?
People labelled as terrorists get settlements from the government instead of jail re: Omar Khadr
ie Trudeau is weak on crime/terror and muslims are terrorist. Talking points for Conservatives since he was made leader.

And willectro is trying to claim this is a muslim terrorist who won't see jail time

what was he holding? the way he approached the officer it almost looked like he wanted to commit suicide by cop.
Based on the way it hit the ground, I'd say not a gun. Still a weird stance to have one armed raised while holding something and walking towards the cops though. Kinda like he was threatening them with a detonator of some kind, which is overly dramatic on my part. Probably just his phone or wallet with ID.

Pretty scary. I'm hoping it's more akin to a very reckless and dangerous driver and nothing planned, but we probably won't be finding out for a while.
I was just out with husband getting passport and id renewals today and we got home just about when this happened.

And the bit in regards to Trudeau cutting a cheque, what's that about?

It's probably related to the govt. of Canada needing to pay Omar Khadr for civil rights abuses that happened under Harper's watch, given that the independent Supreme Court would have likely found in his favour. For some reason people like to lay the failure of Canada to repatriate child soldiers from foreign black-sites in accordance with its own, and international law during the Harper administration as a failure of Trudeau for some reason.

Is that hair or an ear piece over the top of the dude's ear? If it's hair, that's a really weird haircut.

A reference to the Khadr settlement.

obviously trying to bring up the old omar khadr stuff which the canadian government was 100% in the wrong with, regardless of crime

I know what they're referring to, I wanted them to not dance around it with that bullshit answer they gave about thinking criminals are not getting punished in Canada. Some of the people complaing about the Canadian justice system are both ignorant of how the judicial system works, and also want to flagrantly ignore it when it suits them.

What is so offensive about that sarcasm?

Oh so the whole post was you being sarcastic, or just the tail end?

Given that stretch of road, it's a miracle only 8-10 people were hit

There was mention of a driver following the van honking their horn warning people. That hero must have saved a bunch of lives at least.

He hit some people at yonge and finch, and then again by north york centre
Piecing all the photos, he started at finch, swerved on various blocks all the way to Sheppard. Multiple images of along the way, like the church at willow dale, near kinton above civic center, etc...

My wife was having a meeting in that building by ML Square when it happened. The place is locked down now. It is absolutely surreal to be seeing one of these situations going on where you live. Literally on a street I've driven down nearly every day for 15 years. Totally fucked.

Edit: fuck me. She's telling me she literally just got there minutes before it happened and they watched it happen. She probably just missed this guy on the way in. I feel shaky as fuck.

I heard it and my heart dropped. My wife works in that area. Messaged her and she responded back. This is about as close to home as it gets.

I'm sorry, for people like this, I really wish we had death penalty.

Everyone is scanning the guy's face so they can get a head start on political talking points.

What a world we live in.

Wow, I used to live at Yonge and Sheppard and would walk between Yonge/Sheppard and Yonge/Finch all the time. That's a terrible tragedy.
