Venom Official Trailer

The movie could end up being bad, but I don't necessarily get this vibe from the trailer. The only part that's kinda cheesy-looking to me is the part where he pulls the motorcycle back to him.
The voice of Venom sounds pretty good and reminds me of Willem Defoe's voice work in the Death Note movie (the only good thing about that movie).
But yeah, I'm just hoping that the part we see of Venom in the trailer isn't just in the last 10 minutes or so of the film. Sometimes when you have a recognizable actor playing someone who's human face would naturally be completely obscured, the studios go through great lengths to justify them being in human form/without a mask/what have you like Deadshot in Suicide Squad.
Hope this isn't the case here.
Jenny Slate. She voices a recurring character in Bob's Burgers.

Lots of rumors that Carnage will be in this. Who knows if it'll come true. But it would make sense that other Symbiotes will need to show up to give him a good fight. Venom seems OP already.

I'm still confused as to why we're letting the Gangster Squad guy direct a big budget superhero movie?
I just looked up the cast and apparently, Woody Harrelson is in with an uncredited role so maybe he will be Carnage?
Who's talking about the costume? Venom's head is a twisted version of Spiderman's mask with a mouth.
We do see a dark haired woman attack Brock at one point in the trailer. This could be the same woman who talks to Eddie at the convenience store. She might have been bonded with a Symbuyoat halfway through.
I don't see it.
Looks cool. Whatever, I'll probably see it in theaters.
I wonder how they'll differentiate between Riot and Venom besides the slightly different eye shapes.
Color change? A utility belt? A sweet leather costume?
People screaming for Carnage before they even have released a Venom-movie is why Sony rushed for Venom instead of letting Raimi go through the cool original rouges gallery and why I bet Sony will push Carnage in the end of this film. Rush rush rush. Never let things take their time. ZZZ.

I can't believe that they're making a Venom movie and are pronouncing symbiote wrong. Like, what
Well I can say two things:
1) It does indeed look like Prototype.
2) A Venom story where the symobiote isn't initially introduced through Spider-Man is just weird.
This whole things really feels like a comic book movie from a bygone era. No connection to its source material outside of name and design.

Yea I think that is him. One of those artists whose work is a mixed bag for me.
Having let the trailer sit with me for a few hours..,
The studio making no effort to make Michelle Williams look like an actual character rather than just 'the girlfriend' feels very tone deaf in this day and age.
Riz Ahmed looks like a standard, cardboard cut out, corporate bad guy clad in an Armani suit.
Hardy has a great American accent, see The Drop, but this one feels weirdly unfocused.
This feels tonally off, at first it seems like a dark brooding film and then all the action set pieces hint at broad, VFX heavy 'limb' effects rather than something more savage and bloody.
The bike sequence plays like a very broad action sequence and doesn't feel like it belongs to the same film teased at the start of the trailer.
I do however like the actual Venom transformation where the 'suit' seems to swallow Hardy's character.
Using the "in association with" on the Marvel logo and the Infinity War trailer music feels a little desperate.
In short? Eh. The more I see of this the more 'by the numbers' it looks.

I think it's done. They decided to delay it for whatever reason.
Seems like the stills of Venom look good but the animation looks real bad.

Saw the potato quality last night, this trailer you can clearly see 2 Symbiote.... hope we see Carnage...
I saw the trailer with no sound and it looked unintentionally funny, almost like a parody. I now have less than zero expectations for this movie (not that I had any for a Venom flick).
