I'm looking forward to groups and trimming clips from within the Guide. I wish they'd allow you to invert the X axis on the sticks, though. I really want to play Blinx, but there's no way to not invert both axes. Inverting the Y axis through the system settings only solves half of the problem.

With the latest Preview Dashboard my Xbox One X encodes all audio as ATMOS, even when it's not. Before it would switch to ATMOS when there was a true ATMOS stream, otherwise I could use Dolby Surround Upmixing with those titles that weren't ATMOS. Now, I don't have a choice, since non-ATMOS streams are their discrete channels encapsulated in an ATMOS signal, preventing me from doing any further processing.
I'm beginning this is just the way the OS will work from here on out. Should I ever want to do any upmixing I have to go into Settings and change it to PCM 5.1/7.1. It's far from ideal, but easily accessible from the Guide, at least.

My console.is on the latest build, but none of the features are appearing to me, and there are no quests for them either. Is this correct?

Groups are here!

System Update – 5/9/18

image: https://news.xbox.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/Groups-hero-hero-hero.png

Groups-hero-hero-hero.png

Starting at 6:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Ring will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1805.180506-1920). Read on for more about the new features, fixes and known issues in the latest system update.

New Features:

Group Your Games and Apps
In this build we are enabling for the Preview Alpha ring the Groups feature. We will roll-out this feature to all the Alpha users over the next few days so please be patient as we enable this feature in a controlled manner to watch the service and feature load. With Groups, you can create multiple collections of content made up of anything from within My games & apps. You can also assign custom names to each Group, organize and order them, and add individual Groups to Home. Groups will appear across My games & apps, Home, and Guide, so you'll be able to access your Groups at a moment's notice. Best of all, Groups are tied to your account, so they will automatically sync across multiple Xbox One consoles. We've started you off with a Group that should look very familiar — your Pins! Please note we will publish a Quest for your feedback once all the users have access to the groups feature!

Improved Family Settings
Xbox One is also helping parents keep their family safe with updates to family settings. We've added a new family settings page where parents can easily find and manage all family settings on Xbox One. Parents will easily be able to tell which family and content settings are set up and configured. Important setting that are turned off or require attention will be flagged as well. Some settings, such as activity reports and screen time limits, can only be accessed through the web: We identify those settings and provide a link to where parents can easily set them up.

More Privacy Options
You will notice a change to the Login flow on the console that only occurs once when you first login. This is a requirement for new Privacy requirements. In the privacy settings menu, you can now also specify whether to send crash dump data for games and apps to Microsoft. We'll also let you know about scenarios where we need to share your data with game developers, publishers, and other third parties so that you can play online. Finally, we're giving you a way to close your Microsoft account, which will also remove you from others' friends lists.

Fixes:

Login Flow
  • We have fixed localization issues with the two new privacy login screens that users will encounter.
System Performance

  • Misc. performance fixes in the platform.

Known Issues:

Audio
  • Some users may experience intermittent loss of Audio with certain configurations of AV receivers with ATMOS or with changing audio configurations during console use.
  • We are investigating reports of loss of audio in some games when resuming from Instant-On. Please file feedback when this occurs.
  • We are aware that some users with Denon or Marantz receivers and the LG SJ9 soundbar are experiencing Audio issues.
Groups
  • If you add an inbox app to a Group, the next system update will cause you to lose its image. Remove from Group and re-add to bring back its image.
  • If you have more than 25 items in your Pins when you have Groups first enabled, not all items will appear. This will be fixed in an upcoming build.
  • If you try to add more than 40 items at one time to a Group, this operation may fail.
  • You cannot Remove the "Pins" Group. This is currently by design because Pins and Groups coexist for users.
  • If you uninstall a game/app after previously adding it to a Group, it will lose its image. Workaround is to remove from Group and add it back.
  • NOTE : If someone is in a bad state for Groups, they can always go into My games & apps > Groups and press the "Reset groups" button at the bottom of the page to bring them back to the Day 0 experience with Pins as their first Group. It will remove all other Groups they created.
Pi-hole
  • Pi-hole users may encounter issues signing in, creating, or recovering accounts upon downloading the 1804 update. This is due to a new configuration file which is downloaded from a URL Pi-hole blocks by default.
  • Workaround: Add clientconfig.passport.net to the Pi-hole allowed IP address list.
Profile Color
  • Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.
Matchmaking
  • An issue has been discovered with some titles (Halo MCC, Halo 5, EA Sports titles as an example) that matchmaking is failing. We are tracking a fix on this issue.
Networking
  • Work continues on the stability of the Wi-Fi connectivity. If you see any issues please report the problems for investigation.
YouTube
  • Some users are encountering an issue where their YouTube account is being signed out whenever they launch the app.
    • Workaround: Uninstall/re-install the app and sign in with your account again.

Turns out they're not activated yet which is a bummer. I desperately want to organize my games so they should hurry up.
Everyone will have it in 48 hours so guess we'll see then. I can't believe this feature took this long but I'm just happy it's finally here. Now a Wishlist on the store and I'll be so happy.

Groups!!! Let me know how they are
It's great, it was activated on my account when I turned on the console today.

It replaces the pins, at first it creates a group named "pins" that contain most of them.

I deleted it and made several groups, you can have the same game (or app) in several groups. You can order the groups as you want to.

In the Guide I could not find it at first, they removed the "pins" button and changed the function of the "Game and Apps" button : now it opens a new panel which lists your groups.
In this panel the first group is expanded, the others are collapsed.
If groups have a low number of games, it display them on a 3 columns grid, and if there's too much it displays them on 4 columns (didn't try to add more to see if it could display them on 5 columns).

Ugh,
I just noticed something that's either stopped working or been removed from the latest build that installed on my Xbox (my last update was on the 9th when I noticed this last night-I'm in the Beta ring). I really liked how you could go to my games and apps and group them in sections of letters, because then you'd be able to press Y on your controller and jump to a specific letter. Doesn't work anymore and I think that really sucks.

RT/LT to page down/up can still be tedious when you have 400 games installed.

I noticed this yesterday and was trying to figure out if it was the way I had it sorted or what was going on.

Just in case people didnt see in the other thread discussing groups.

I hope. After creating several groups with some... a lot of games, sorting the games, etc I don't want to test it. lol

But I am happy to hear your report. ^^

There is definitely a secondary prompt after clicking the reset groups button.

So dont worry about accidentally clicking it.
And even if you are one of the impatient types or your Alpha build is on crack(it happens).....the immediately highlighted button is Cancel.

You are safe from unwittingly resetting all your groups.

Why the groups aren't appearing for me?

I feel like my Games and Apps is outdated, I used to have the tabs for each subscription and they disappeared.

Groups wasnt rolled out to everyone initially.

And after the feedback we have given they have decided they arent going to roll it out to anymore Alpha members till they give it more love.

Don worry you arent missing much.
Its just really convenient in the Guide where your groups show up.

Effectively switching from one game to anything in your library has been streamlined to being entirely on the guide.

I'm on alpha ring, I thought this last update was supposed to roll out to everyone?

Something seems strange, because I had received the separated subscriptions tab for a while, but it reverted back to a single tab with only 3 games from each sub.

No, only select Alpha users, they opened the pool then stopped adding people but didn't say why. If you don't have it, you're not really missing much.

New Preview Alpha 1806 System Update – 5/22/18

Groups-1-hero.png

Starting at 6:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Ring will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1806.180517-2122). Read on for more about the New Features, fixes and known issues in the latest 1806 system update.

New Features:

While anticipation for E3 continues to build for a fantastic lineup of new games for Xbox players, we're sharing some great new features in development that will begin to roll out to Xbox Insiders today. Not all of these features will be available immediately, but will be added over time in system update 1806 (June Update). The team at Xbox is always striving to improve the platform, and these features developed from fan feedback will continue to be shaped by Insider previewers. Enjoy these new features and giving your valuable feedback as we count down the days to the Xbox E3 briefing on June 10th!

Group Your Games and Apps

With so much content available, fans have asked for more options to organize libraries of games and apps. Today, we're introducing a powerful new enhancement to Pins, which we call "Groups." With Groups, you can create multiple collections of content made up of anything from within My Games & Apps. You can also assign custom names to each Group, organize and order them, and add individual Groups to Home. Groups will appear across My Games & Apps, Home and Guide, so you'll be able to access your Groups at a moment's notice. Best of all, Groups are tied to your Xbox Live account, so they will automatically sync across multiple Xbox One consoles. We've started you off with a Group that should look very familiar — your Pins!

Improved Search Functionality

Searching for content is now even easier! Now pressing the Y button anywhere in the dashboard will bring up the search dialog. This process is found in many apps, but now you can do it anywhere within the dashboard. Not seeing enough results for your search? Hit enter or click the "more results" button to view a full page for your search results.

Multiple Wi-Fi passwords

The team at Xbox wants to enable gamers to hop online and play with ease. This feature enables users to store multiple Wi-Fi passwords on their console. This will make jumping between networks even easier and give you even more reasons to pack your Xbox on your next vacation!

Additional Accessibility Options

The Narrator feature on Xbox One now supports five additional languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, and Dutch. We're also adding an Australian version of English language for Narrator, so Australian users will no longer have to select US or UK English in order to use Narrator.

Improvements to Family Settings

New features will allow for the right experience for child accounts.

Experiments

A subset of Xbox Insiders may see some experimental features in addition to what's listed above. These are designed to gauge interest and solicit feedback from a more focused group. For example, some users will be able to share game-specific stats amongst your friends right on your home page. While others may find greater functionality within Clubs.

As always, thanks to all the Xbox Insiders for your feedback. Your insight and input is both critical and crucial to making a better Xbox experience for gamers around the world.

New Feature Feedback:

Updates for Groups based on Xbox Insider feedback:

  • Guide now locked to 4 columns
  • Guide now opens multiple groups in flyout
  • The "Add more" and "Create a group" flows now also includes your "Ready to install" games
  • The "Add more" and "Create a group" flows now allow you to add up to 40 items to a Group at one time
  • If you are looking for Groups in Guide but expected to see a Pins button, click on the "My games & apps" button – we've combined Groups with "My games & apps" to put all your stuff in one convenient location for quick access
  • Resetting Groups: We've updated the reset button so now you can delete your local Groups and re-sync with the service. This will clear up a lot of issues that may have occurred due to bad states or if data is not showing up as expected. You may need to sign in / out for the pages to refresh. You can still delete from everywhere if you want a fresh start with Groups.
Fixes:

GameDVR

  • Fixed the issue in which some users did not receive pop up notifications for Game DVR captures and the guide did not update the number of new captures.
Groups
  • Fixed an issue where using Groups on multiple consoles would cause blank names on that other console. This should not repro anymore and can be fixed by choosing to reset your Groups locally
  • Fixed an issue where Groups in a bad state would be reset because of unexpected data
  • Fixed an issue regarding scrolling and poor navigation in Groups lower down in Guide
  • Fixed an issue when editing Groups on multiple consoles that would cause random ordering of your Groups
Microsoft Edge
  • Fixed an issue in which switching Microsoft Edge tabs will cause PDF files to disappear from the screen.
  • Stability and performance fixes for Microsoft Edge, specifically when multiple tabs are open.
System Performance
  • Misc. performance fixes in the platform.

Known Issues:

Groups

  • Preview Alpha users thanks for your feedback on Groups we are not expanding the feature to more users in Alpha today based on the feedback. Stay tuned for more information on expansion later this week and thanks for flighting and the great feedback!
  • The Groups tab My games & apps may not show after sign in even though you can access Groups in Guide. Workaround: Sign in / out to refresh these pages.
  • You may see "This group does not exist" on Home on first sign-in for your existing Groups. Workaround: Sign in / out to refresh these pages.
  • Some changes might not be reflected when editing Groups between multiple consoles after coming out of connected standby. Sign in/out to fix.
  • The "Add more" or "Create a group" page for Groups will not show all installed content when filtering
  • Titles hidden from Ready to install will show up as an item you can add through the "Add more" or "Create a group" page
  • Choosing "Add to Home" for game/app within a group will not add the block to Home
  • You may see issues roaming between a GA console and preview 1806 console. Workaround: Choose to reset your Groups locally to resync from the service.
Pi-hole
  • Pi-hole users may encounter issues signing in, creating, or recovering accounts upon downloading the 1804 update. This is due to a new configuration file which is downloaded from a URL Pi-hole blocks by default.
