How come this port is even worse than Samurai Warriors Sanada. At least I can go beyond 4K in SW, Nioh doesnt even let me :D
Well, according to Digital Foundry, the PS4 Pro version maxes out at 1080p (and drops below it) when using the 60fps version. So... it's not a bad port. The game runs awful on everything.

Well I actually haven't play the PS4 version. Quite surprising the game doesn't run well, the graphics isn't exactly great :D

Another NIOH. This is as far as the Ansel camera allows. Pardon the banding. (Ansel - 4K - Reshade 1.1)

Good to see some familiar faces here.
How to post portraits without them blowing up huge?

Thanks Jim, yeah it's a real shame about posting portraits. It's the one thing i do miss from Neogaf.

What methods do you guys use to downscale 2160p images to 1080p?

I use FastStone to do bulk-downscaling with my settings set to jpeg @ 98% quality and Lanczosc2 filter under Advanced Settings->Resize. From Stallion's old post check out Alo81's guide:

FastStone Image Viewer
  1. Use Ctrl+click to select the images you want to convert
  2. Select Tools>Batch Convert Selected Images, or press F3
  3. Under Output Format, select JPEG
  4. Select Settings next to Output and use these settings, except setting quality to 98%

  5. Select your output folder
  6. Optional: You can use the advanced options dialog to resize all of your images. (I recommend Lanczos2 for downsampling but it notoriously causes banding)
  7. Click Convert

  • Custom Resolutions: If you have an Nvidia or an AMD card, create a couple custom resolutions over 1080p.
  • Steam: You can tell Steam to also save lossless screens when hitting the button and choose and output folder.
  • FastStone: It's free and quite easy. You can resize a whole folder with different options and convert to .png/.jpeg.
  • Irfanview/Photoshop: Use one of these to convert to .png from .bmp, crop out black bars or resize pictures.
  • Zoner PS: Another Photoshop alternative, recommended by Angelus Errare.
  • Alo81's JPEG Guide: Everything you need to know about saving as a JPEG.

ACDSee Pro 8/9 (10 and 2018 are awful though). But you can use whatever works really, it's just generally better to have bicubic or lanczos resampling as bilinear blur things a bit more than neccesary. Freeware FastStone has a pretty good resampler for example.

The environments are great, it looks great, but it's so boring. Sidequests are uninteresting filler and the main story is so slow and unconvincing, I have to put a lot of energy into liking it. Perhaps it picks up the pace a bit after Alexandria but I fear the worst.

AC: Origins. 8600x3600 -> 3440x1440

Not finding much motivation to push on with this game. Which is probably why I have a hard time getting interesting screenshots out of it.

+1 for FastStone ImageViewer. I personally use Lanczos2 the most when downsampling my images. It's a little sharper than Lanczos3.

I wish I could say it gets better but personally I'm not feeling it. I feel like I have to push myself to grind through the sidequests just to progress the main story. I'm not a big fan of the main story though either. The only reason I'd continue is to see the remaining areas that are currently too high level for me. But... it'd be a slog to get there.

Great shot ! Yeah you are right. I had to do ALOT of side quests and other side activities stuff to be able to meet the level requirements for each story mission which is a bummer. The game looks great indeed.

It looks good. The lighting is a bit weird on Endor. I might prefer the slightly more cartoonish look of the last game but it looks quite good thus far.

Thanks :) Yes exactly that: you have to do these sidequest to proceed. So the meat of the game is boring filler. And they're not even trying to make them interesting either, they clearly focused on quantity, not quality with the side quests.

I'm also still playing Divinity Original Sin 2 and even after 53 hours it is still interesting, you discover new stuff and there's no grind at all, simply because it's fun to play further.

At the moment I think Syndicate was even more fun than Origins. What a shame.
