Mark Kolpack and his VFX crew are just killing it lately. From the space flyby to the alien ship to the gravity effects. My man can work miracles with a tiny budget.

I liked the part where the one, background character, was talking about how there was a crazy story to how he survived an apparent death but no one cared. I don't even remember him getting hurt!

It's pretty amazing how everyone plot point from five seasons is pulling together. Makes me worry this'll be the final season but at least it'll be satisfying.

I laughed at the IW mention because it's like the writers had no idea what to do because all they had access to was the trailers. I expect ratings tomorrow to be low because so many will be watching IW tonight instead of the show and others will skip the show because they don't know it won't spoil the movie.

I love that Talbot is crazy enough that the extra voices in his head doesn't bother him.

I unfortunately expect the same. And this show really cannot afford to lose any viewers if it wants a chance at a season 6. I did get a chuckle out of the commercial they had during the show where it was a bunch of different ABC shows without any actors, and the commercial basically was asking where everyone was at, only to wind up revealing that everyone ran off to see the Avengers instead. Kinda depressing to think that ABC would air that commercial during a new episode of Shield.

The best we can do is watch it on ABC's website tomorrow after it goes live to help the +7. I do this once a week even though I have it on Amazon Season pass.

Is there anywhere to see that commercial? CTV replaces the American commercials up here.

I did a quick youtube search and couldn't find it. I'll keep looking a bit, but I don't think I'm going to have much luck sadly. I've only ever seen that commercial once and it was during this episode.

But it was the craziest commercial I've seen in a long while. It showed the sets for Roseanne, American Idol, The Middle, Kimmel, and maybe another show or two, but they were all empty. And the whole point of the commercial was that everyone ran off to see the new Avengers. The fact that they aired that during a new episode of a Marvel show where a good chunk of their viewers are going to miss the episode because of the film is just hilarious and sad all at once.

Goddamn, the alien guys just getting crushed and folded up. Agents of SHIELD with the nastiest deaths in the MCU.

Talbot actually bears a resemblance to Graviton in the EMH cartoon...

Also, that swerve was completely unexpected.

Man I love this show so much. 5 seasons in and it makes the plots from season 1 into such a big payoff.

Kudos to the writers and actors.

Having just got out of Infinity War it's almost quaint coming back to Agents of SHIELD to be honest. It's still really good, but man it just feels weird thinking these are even remotely in the same universe. I'm surprised they even made a nod to Infinity War and am wondering how they will deal with it.

Great to have an episode stop the rot, looks like we're seeing some new locations in the next episode so that's a start as well! Adrian Pasdar finally looking like he'll go a decent run too. I'm happy.

I mean, laughable IW reference aside - a movie that renders the show's premise entirely obsolete unfortunately. Like, there's too much going on in either IW and AOS for neither side to reference the other. Could they not afford Jackson and Smulders at least to pop up and explain their presence (or lack of) around all of this going on? Missed opportunities are the TV division's forte unfortunately.

But yeah, very good episode this week. And the preview for next week's episode does the job of maintaining the excitement too.

Talbot was a bit-part jokey character who I didn't expect to be involved this season and now (barring a late twist) he's the goddamn Destroyer of Worlds. This show is incredible.
