Another MCU fan, well done Pachimari! :D
Oh, and she thought Captain America was Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean so she didn't understand why he didn't turn up. And she thought Gamora was from Shrek. But with a few corrections and explanations from me I think (hope) she knows who's who.

I kind of just wish we could skip straight to Captain Marvel (never thought I'd say that) as I want to ride this high straight to Avengers 4 and I don't think Ant-Man will do anything for me.

Like last time, I feel we need it plus Cap before the grand finale of all this shit. Plus, I gotta see my girl wreck shit.

Plus, blame the Spidey deal.

I cant believe this movie worked so well. I was really worried after I have read the reviews, about the movie beeing a mess, but it worked so well for me. I queaked like a kid when Cap appeared for the first time on the scream, I shouted out, when
the Red Skull appeared.
Amazing. Why cant I have access to a time stone. One year. I cant wait that long.

Feels like the Spidey deal just meant we got one extra movie (Black Panther) in 2018. I doubt they would've pushed up Infinity War or Avengers 4 in Spidey's absence, that'd just be one less film we'd be getting in 2017 and 2019.

Woah when did this happen?! My Amazon is saying May 15th.

Amazon US is showing November but every other place still says May. Maybe a goof on US Amazon's part.
Oh really? Hmmm, well that's hopeful. I got an email a few weeks ago saying the date had changed, but it went from like Nov 7th to Nov 6th, lol. Before I opened it I figured it was being moved up to May. Hopefully they send another one soon to say it's May 15th.

EDIT -
There's two different art books, one that has art from every MCU movie up to IW (The road to IW), which releases in May, and one with art from IW, which releases in November.
Well that explains it. So it's still November, booooo.

i watched it again

liked some things more this time, other things less. it's still not top 5 mcu material BUT i'm going to withhold complete judgement until I see avengers 4, because I get the feeling that they're setting up a lot of things (aka things that were missing in this film that caused me to have problems) that will be delivered in 4.

I don't get the disappointment with the Black Order by some (largely DCEU fanboys, truthfully).

I wonder if the Road to Infinity War book is worth it. I remember browsing the Road to Age of Ultron art book and that was just recycled material so I didn't bother getting it.

Ryan Meinerding (one of the concept artists) said it himself on Instagram. They don't want to spoil IW, so they're releasing it in November.
That's really weird.

The Last Jedi book wasn't that far off the release of the movie and by the time they were getting close to the Blu-ray they were pretty open with spoilers on their Twitter feed. Waiting 7 months is nuts.

Just pre-ordered:

Very nice. To add onto this, Target has the regular Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray editions up for pre-order and it comes with a Target-exclusive chrome variant of the Iron Man Funko Pop! figure, for those who collect Funko such as myself.

where does the DCEU fanboy part come in? lol

Not gonna lie I was a bit disappointed with them but I think I expected a little too much given the scale of the film. I love them in Hickmans run, especially Proxima.

Yeah, as soon as I heard his voice, I was like, wait, that sounds like Hugo Weaving. Could Red Skull be making his reappearance finally? Then he removed the hood and I was right! It's a shame Cap or Bucky don't know he survived. That could've been a fun moment (funnily enough, though, according to IMDb, Hugu Weaving was replaced for the role).

The people I see making the complaints are the same people saying Justice League is a comic film game changer if Snyder is allowed to see it through.

Having
God of War
still on the mind, I thought it was awesome to see
Thor's newly forged axe be used just like the one in the game

Yeah,
it wasn't Weaving. It was Ross Marquand (Aaron from Walking Dead). He's a crazy good impressionist.

Why do people keep recommending GotG Vol.2 as required viewing for Infinity War? I'm trying to remember what happens in it that could be of importance to IW, but honestly the only thing I can come up with is Nebula and Gamora repairing their relationship at the end of the movie (vol.2, that is.)

Sure, but if one had only a limited amount of movies to watch before IW, I don't really see what is so important about it, except Mantis.

You're assuming they're recommending the movies to see based on someone having limited time.

If someone asks me which movies they should see before this, I'm gonna recommend everything but Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 3, Ant-Man, and Homecoming. If they say time is of the essence, I'd add Black Panther, Thor 1, and Iron Man 2 to the discarded pile.

I think enough development of the Guardians dynamics happens in Guardians 2 to recommend someone watch that first, especially since Mantis proves pretty useful at one point, and Groot immediately being a teenager if you only saw him in Guardians 1 might be weird.

Yeah, I had the limited time angle in mind when I posted that question.

Without a time limit, I would recommend watching all the movies anyway. Every movie is of importance, because plot threads or characters carry over from movie to movie.

Thought I'd frame the free poster I got on my way out of the show Thursday. Looks good in my office. I'll likely hang it properly once I figure out my Star Wars poster situation.

Ebony Maw was great for the most part. Proxima was OK. As someone that liked them a lot in Hickman's run they were a bit disappointing overall. Admittedly they had to take a backseat for Thanos and the writers are juggling a ton of characters so it didn't bother me that much.
