Because Isekai has elements of Dragon Quest which is plenty known in the country and a setting with plenty of fantasy that doesn't need to be explained, along established tropes that can auxiliate an author in trying to tell his story. And well, like any other genre, there's bad, good, mediocre and great Isekai.
It's not just Isekai being akin to DQ lore wise. A constant in Isekai is that the characters are ALL some kind of Mary Sue and are OP in their new world.
It's funny/interesting once or twice but it's become grating that the entire genre is now "IRL loser gets teleported to another fantasy rpg world with a new game + save and is basically OP and gets all the chicks".
Really I can't think of an Isekai where the protag isn't OP/doesn't get OP really fast
there's also the question of how OP they really are, like Log Horizon is pretty much an isekai but the OPness is purely in the strategy and it takes a lot of politicking to come around
Kind of late as someone already answered. Since SAO big hit both in the light novel and anime side, lots of people have been on that bandwagon of going for that demographic who seems to eat anything, as well as being a quite formulaic genre. As anime -> manga and light novel -> manga adaptations are being more common as it is easier to invest in an already known ip thats what you get.
A young normal teenager stay in a city full of demon, with strange thing hapoening around her, things like:
Annoying customer, driver who don't use signal when they turn, vandalism, theft, littering... you know, things that are not supposed to happen in human world
Also, the devil princess is wearing sweatpants and croc sandal.

Heck Escaflowne and Inuyasha are also Isekai at the simplest terms (trapped in another world).
The thing is isekai isn't the issue its just the common host of the dime a dozen self insert story people hate. That formula being "average underdog guy" who's actually the uber special for reasons has all the women who want him and anyone who hates him ends up being a villain. This can range from trash isekai like sao to with my cell phone to where the character is native to the world like Asterisk of irregular at magic high.
That manga is still super power fantasy though, only with it extended to the JSDF instead of just the main character. They solve almost every obstacle with superior modern Japanese firepower/knowledge/ideology and every problem that from the interactions between the realms come from everybody but them.
As an aside, Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - while not actually isekai - reminds me of a lot of modern isekai works, in which the main characters solve a lot of the problems by "cheating" using modern knowledge in the midst of an ignorant world.
Her poor sister was so enthusiastic about the prospect of the two working together, too.

I may seem hating this kind of manga but I still read them, I think there's still potential in it.

Decent short read though I felt like the anime did a good enough recap of it. People made it seem like it cut out a lot more than it did. This made me want to rewatch Infected again damn Lostorange is meh.

Always wanted to read the manga after watching the anime few years ago. Finally a manga for adults where the world isnt ruined if you dont achieve your dreams. I am not interested in technical details or I'd have read Kami no Shizuku which does a much better job. But the social aspect and the personal interwoven stories of the characters make this manga very special, despite some inconsistencies. Topic would require a great amount of research but then it would risk becoming too technical, considering it has such good dramatisation and focusing on different age groups and life experiences. Will read it till the end. Perhaps the best balanced gourmet/slice of life manga.
