So how many people are going to be annoyed when I say that I beat Tempered Kirin in the first attempt?

And how many people are going to be further annoyed when I say I accidentally brought my monster capture equipment instead of my mega barrel bombs in the process.

(Set was Karma (Odogaron LBG), Thunder Charm 3, Vitality and Thunderproof Mantle, Dragonking Eyepatch Alpha, Kulve Taroth's Ire Alpha, Xeno'Jiva Claws Alpha, Xeno'Jiva Spine Alpha and Diablos Neo Greaves Beta for those curious. Got a Elemental Large meal with Normal Shots up, Armordrug+ and Demondrug+, Palico on the Coral Orchestra and went to town with Rapid Fire Normal Shot 2.)

I would wait until you beat them because some of the best stuff have elder dragons materials

Besides you're too low of a rank you need to basically beat the story before you can qualify and jump to 29 from the completion

Phew I'm finally done with GoW. That was nice. How's everyone here?

I guess I have some time to get back into MH before I start bloodborne. Is there still time to get that golden armor and do the current events? I don't wanna miss out on too much.

You still got until Thursday. The gems can be a pain to collect, though, and you need 4 of them for the entire alpha and beta armor sets. My advice is to at least pick up every shiny drop you see.

Funny Siege story of the day:
After joining the session I went to craft the Tobi Kadachi HBG tree, saw I was missing parts for both LR and HR Kadachi. Went to the gathering hub to see what's up in the Kulve Siege, and the same moment I got off the lift it was "The Siege of Kulve Taroth is complete!".
Went to see if I could pick up some rewards and - voila - it was a Taroth Assault "Spark", the better Kulve version of the Kadachi HBG. Take that, desire sensor!

Zero Sum Discharge continues to be annoyingly risky. It's, like, a 50/50 chance of eating shit with it on Kulve when she's knocked down.
I still don't fully grasp the purpose of the ZSD. It seems so risky to use when the monster is up and about that I just use it when the monster is knocked down. But then it's no different than the normal discharge!

I just eat shit so often when I hop on the monster that I don't want to try it anymore. Same with stuff like the Spirit Helmsplitter. Save that shit for when I know that I won't eat free damage from an angry monster.

Spirit Helmsplitter's all about dropping Kulve Taroth from standing with that ultra-precise headshot.

Is it worth the risk? Probably not. But it's the most stylish takedown possible.

I just noticed you can save different load outs for you pouch. That's great. Now I won't have to carry so much stuff.

I only ever user ZSD while a monster is downed/trapped/exhausted; you're way too vulnerable otherwise if they're still moving around and attacking.

That said, it can do a lot of damage if you manage to hit the right spot (preferably a weak point).
Also funny as hell when you cut tails with it. But if it seems like the monster's about to pop up early, you can cancel immediately into the finisher explosion (you don't have to mash for extra hits).

Also fun when you do it in multiplayer when somebody else mounts a monster.

Yup, you can create different Pouch loadouts depending on what you're doing.
(So like I have separate loadouts for Capturing, Elders, Kulve, etc.)

Also, this saves any Radial Menu settings as well (took me a while to figure this out).

The RNG really works in mysterious ways. I still have to get the R7 Kirin SnS I have been farming for all week. But I just wanted to craft the Anjanath hammer because I needed a fire hammer, only to find out I came 1 LR fang short. I put that plan on hold and did a siege instead. Lo and behold: I immediately get the R7 Anjanath hammer.

Just beat the big-ass blue dragon. Am I at the end of the game for real now? The fight was really easy at the beginning but just got progressively more annoying as it went.

Depends on what you define "the end" to be. There are new quests unlocked at HR 29, 49, and 100. Plus, there are bonus quests unlocked for red completion of all other 1 to 8 star quests as well fully researching 10 and 15 monsters. That's not mentioning the end game grind for decos and streamstones.
But if you are asking about the end of the story, then yes.

Congratulations, you beat the tutorial.

No for real though, that's the end of the story mode. Everything after that is post game. No more new monsters that haven't been added in updates.

After doing over 20 runs of Kluve, I only managed to get one gem via carve.

With only 3 days to go, I may not be able to complete the armor set.

I hope Capcom allows us to meld them at a later date.

Feels like it took forever, but finally beat the game. Damn that final boss takes forever.

Time to grind out Dante stuff then probably go back to GoW. That or try to get all the dual blades stuff I can get.

Finally got everything I needed to craft the Kulve gear, had to take the PlayStation somewhere where I could use a lan cable, but wasn't so bad, all in all took 6 goes to get a full set, got lucky and carved a gleamstone on each of my final 2 runs. I had a lot of fun getting back into it though, got some more ideas for footage I want to capture also so might spend more time with it again.

It won't happen, but I wouldn't mind if Capcom surprises us and makes the Kulve siege a permanent feature, albeit with a reduced amount of weapon rewards during periods when it's not a featured event.

I'm fine with it being a limited event. Seeing as it relies on having as many people as possible doing it in a room, I figure having it be limited gives people more of an incentive to do it all at the same time and have higher odds of packed rooms.

I just want to be able to meld Kulve gems when this is all done.

I still say they should make unshrouded Kulve a normal investigation.
Not a bad idea. They could open up the whole area (sans area 1 perhaps) from the get-go and let you fight unshrouded Kulve in multiple areas, much like a normal monster.

Yeah I thought about that as well. Less rewards means it's going to be harder to gather the necessary 8 - 12 people in one hub to clear the siege in a reasonable amount of time. Though they could always scale her down so the siege requires less people.

Agreed on the meldable gems. I still think they should implement a feature that lets you meld normal materials into gems. Big amount of materials, mind you, so you won't get the gems for cheap. But I think such a system would be fair. There are people with just 1 or 2 Kulve gems, but ~500 nuggest. Let them meld 100, maybe even 200 nuggets into one gem. Point is: they got the huge amount of materials, they paid their dues by doing the event a large amount of times, so they should be able to get their gems one way or another.

This could work for normal monster gems and plates as well. Why not let me convert, say, 50 Odogaron scales into one Odogaron plate/gem? The amount is large enough to prevent easy plates/gems but still rewards players for their efforts in farming the materials.

It's an armor set and a LS you get through a Japan-exclusive event quest. The quest is tied to promotional codes handed out at Universal Studios Japan and only Japanese players (or at least, people with a Japanese PS4) can redeem the code. The only way western players can get the gear is through searching for a Japanese player hosting the quest. You can't search for the quest itself, but you can search for the monsters involved in the hunt (Dodogama and Azure Rathalos) and hope you get lucky.

I haven't tried it myself though since it sounds like a major hassle. And it's expected the quest will eventually come to the west anyway. Could be next month, or maybe in June.

I need to lighten up on random players. Had a session with some where we beat Kulve on Pursuit 1 in 15:30. Was awesome.

Still haven't gotten a fucking gem from it though.

How high is your reward level when you break the horns in one hunt?

I have had some hunts where we managed to chip the horns at pursuit level 1, but that was in the fourth area and at that point you still have a long way to go before you're able to break them. I'm honestly surprised it's even possible in the first place without a coordinated effort and highly aggressive builds.
