That was a ton of fun. Was worried it'd be a 0-0 draw, the worst possible outcome. Fucking Ciman comes through again. Was cheering him all game so glad it happened. Dudes I thought were just aight look more impressive live when you see the footwork, like Kaye.

Stadium-wise, the bathroom situation and food lines are fucking awful. They all intersect at the absolute worst places. This can't be fixed.

This win gonna keep me going all week.

One point back of the Supporters Shield with a game in hand, best goal differential, most goals scored.

Don't mind us.

Good for my team.

"The Los Angeles Football Club and its supporters union issued a joint statement Monday condemning the use of an anti-gay slur by some fans at the team's inaugural home game Sunday at Banc of California Stadium, a 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders."

If American football doesn't tolerate it I don't see why American soccer should. If it's that important to you pick another team (non-MLS) to root for. LAFC is new enough.

And yes...I know it's not really a homophobic slur...but it offensive to enough people and I wouldn't want my kids (if they were still young) to have to listen to it, or think that yelling it at a sporting event is acceptable.

We've got two games on pretty much everyone and if Royer's back in last year's form we'll be looking to go on a tear. And with Kaku improving every game we'll only be getting more and more dangerous as the summer passes. Get your points while you can.

Ultimate Scoring Machine

If anything BWP's game has been getting better and better each year since that 27 goal season. Hell the other year when he had 24 every single one was from the run of play, had he been taking the PK's as well he'd have likely broken the record easily.

RBNY's issue this year has been getting Royer, Kaku, and Valot hot. Kaku is still adjusting so he'll keep improving, as is Valot. Royer though, we're all really hoping that last game was the switch getting flipped. If Roter's got that monkey off his back you should expect to see that BWP number tick up again as he's gotten good at providing assists.

EDIT: More dudes dying their hair confirmed

Seems like an odd fit for him, but Bradley always has a plan. Urena is hurt right now, so they'll shuffle the decks on offense.

In other news...

Bradley is probably looking at the summer and thinking he's going to need some more squad rotation up-front. His attack is dangerous, but he won't want an Atlanta situation where they just exhaust themselves and get KOed early from the play-offs.

LA also added Adams Diomande, a striker from Hull City who I've never heard of. Anybody have any info on him? They seem to be doubling down on offense, but I guess thy still have that third DP slot in their back pocket to try and upgrade the defense over the summer.

His stats look pretty good according to last year's FM.

LAFC should play 10 offensive players.

Yea, seems like he's definitely worried about running out of steam at the end. Needs some defenders though.

Adama Diomande played under Bob at Staebek. B-Dubs is right, he's there to rotate during the stretch of the season. Here are some of his highlights. He also was apart of thatdouble bike goal against Leicester in 2016.

That feeling when your rival supporters are worse at shittalking your team than your supporters are. Like, this shit is beyond sad from the pigeon supporters.

Metro twitter deserves a better class of banter.

Admittedly, I just started watching NYCFC (and MLS) this season, so I don't know the history. I am going to the derby game on Saturday and I'm looking forward to it.

Also, that pigeon shit is dumb.

Bob gave Lee Nguyen his first three caps for the USMNT back in 2007. Who else will he bring in during the summer window? Still a DP slot available. They need defensive reinforcements..

Geoff Cameron? Bob gave him his first cap. I wonder if he convinces Cameron to leave Stoke.

Welcome! Hope you stick around for a long while to come.

And the NY derby games have all been really fun to watch, especially the 3-2 match last August. This weekend should be a great time once again

I think I will be! I have gone to every NYCFC home game so far and been sitting in the supporters section. It has been a lot of fun.

Been diving into other teams supporters culture lately. I think the Atlanta United fans have impressed me to most (from games I have seen).

You going too?

City tends to play differently against RBNY due to the high-press being the natural enemy to playing out of the back. They go a bit more with the long balls, otherwise it'd just turn into another 7-0 drumming like it did the first time Vieira coached City against RBNY. Against RBNY you either bunker and counter or play over the top, can't really pass through the press. Mourinho learned that the hard way against RBII a few years back.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of City's supporter culture though. It's too geographically focused and they start too many fights when they come out. The road guys stole seats from Orlando's stadium last year, among other things. Atlanta is cool though.

EDIT: Also, pigeons is better than whatever City dudes think passes for banter. Oh no, we have a beautiful SSC stadium in Jersey. We're the only NY team with a stadium in Jersey. Boo hoo hoo. Poor us. It's not like we've ever had to travel a literal 109 miles longer than usual just to go to a home game. What I'm saying is tell your guys not to bring that weaksauce, we want some proper rivalry banter. DC does that shit right.

EDIT2: Anyway welcome to the thread and hope you stick around for some fun times. FYI, there's also a NYC meetup in the evening https://www.resetera.com/threads/nyc-era-meetup-may-5-2018-cinco-de-pollo.38971/ that you're more than welcome to come out to after the game.

Anyone know the story of why Lee Nguyen wanted out of New England? Apparently they wanted to move him but were dead set on not sending him to an Eastern conference team. Apparently so much so that if LAFC were to sell him to an eastern conference team New England would get extra $$$.

The Revs haven't been good, and he's been underpaid. He sounded out his reasons in this article from January.
