From AoS side, it still definitely is.
Here's the AOS side right now...

I want to believe the TV division were given some kind of access to Infinity War, but with the relationship on shaky ground, I can't imagine with all the fuss the movie division made about spoilers that they showed IW or gave such key plot information to anyone outside of the most need-to-know people within their own ranks.

I mean, I don't really buy that Disney wants the show enough to force ABC keep it on the air, but they can't arrange a ten minute meeting with somebody who knows shit so the showrunners can figure out how to stay out of the movie's way.

Yeah, I'm sure the producers were given some sort of heads up on the general idea.

Remember, AoS doesn't need a massive heads up for this. It wouldn't impact them until the very end of the season and they shoot the episodes 2 months before the air. I'm sure they had an idea what was about to go down.

Never say never, but... yeah, I'm 100% with you here. I see zero reason to believe that anyone on the TV side had advance knowledge of the ending.

Press release for The End just went out.

It's being called the SEASON Finale, not SERIES Finale...

C'mon, do you still not know how this stuff works? That means literally nothing except that it hasn't been either cancelled or renewed yet.

There was a random report claiming 3 sources on renewal 3-4 weeks ago, and Cancel bear has it as the second-highest-likely-to-be-renewed tier.

I think the past episode was the first written where they knew they were getting renewed, hence the "No, IW is happening RIGHT NOW" tie in.

So, I was going back and forth on whether or not the time loop thing was reality, but then I realized that Dr. Strange and the time stone exist.

1. He wouldn't have allowed a timeline that was stuck in a loop.

2. I'm pretty sure they've already discussed how time travel breaks time and spawns off new realities... So multiverse theory is real in MCU, time loop is false.

By that logic the events of IW never happen because they weren't discussed in the future before the Earth is destroyed

I think the speculation of IW's effect on AoS has rather run its course. Regardless of whether or not it has an effect on the show is pretty much a moot point until the season ends. Everyone who has seen the film knows the effect it'll have, and everyone who hasn't is pretty much irritated with having to dodge spoilers (or in this case, get openly blasted with them).

It's impossible for AoS to avoid the effects of Infinity War...

That said, how awesome would it be if they solve the issues of this season - only to have a few of the cast members turn to ash as the final scene of the season? They break the loop, but, poof, there goes Mack and Coulson.

That's really the only way I can see them addressing this sort of thing outside of them now being in a different dimension/timeline. The former sort of sucks as you wouldn't be able to have the surviving cast have any agency in solving the problem - that's for the Avengers to do. The latter dodges all of that but it helps ground things in a different reality and allows them to avoid these kinds of continuity issues in the future.

Given that they all but name dropped IW in the last episode of AoS, I don't know how you get around the end of IW without effecting the show in some way or other.

Spoilers regarding IW and how SHIELD deals with it...

So we know the past few weeks episodes of SHIELD have all taken place over the course of like a day at most. Who's to say the rest of the season only lasts another day? New York got mentioned and it only seemed like the ending of IW happens maybe a day or two after that attack. They could conceivably cram the rest of the season during that time period and end it with half the characters turning to dust (especially if they know they're getting another season). The only hard thing they'd have to account for is the start of the next season. No way do they start in October with half a cast until next May (even if they started in January again, I just don't see them doing that). There has to be a way for them to get around it, which might be where the divergent time lines come into play? I also don't know where this rumor of Avengers 4 taking place 5 years after IW started. There's no way. The next movie will have to pick up right when IW leaves off. The heroes are gonna get right on figuring out how to resolve everything and probably end the movie right before the snap.

Spoilers regarding IW & Avengers 4:
They casted Ant Man's daughter Cassie Lang and she is older by around 5 years. This plus the pictures of an older Tony Stark in a shield uniform on set are why people think it is set years later.

Ah, I see.
I figured the older Cassie and Stark was just going to be part of a time travel montage as they see possible futures/histories.

S4 of this was one of my favourite seasons of anything, this year it has sucked. All I'll remember is poorly lit corridors.

I was talking generally about Dr Strange and what he does. His movie came out in 2016.

Sick thanks for spoiling a major plot development of the fucking movie.
Dr Strange came out in 2016. Its common knowledge that he has the Time Stone.

IW Spoilers:
So what part in Doctor Strange in 2016 did he choose a timeline to go into? Yeah thats what thought, pay attention to what you post next time.

Ok, I changed it to "allow" instead of "choose". The fact that Dr Strange would use his powers in a movie he's in should be in the "so obvious it can't possibly be considered a spoiler catagory along with Thor uses lightning and Rocket shoots a gun.

Come on guys. I'm as anti-spoiler as they come and even I don't think Nostremitus posted anything that qualifies as a spoiler. Just a little off topic at worst.

I'm hoping AoS continues to take place in the MCU
I'm hoping that either the ending of this season, or more importantly, next season (please) deal with world fallout from what happens at the end of IW. With 2 movies that more than likely won't deal with that same event, and the 4th movie that I assume will almost entirely be about how they fix things, there's a huge potential story out there, like an MCU Leftover's. For all intents and purposes, the "rapture" has happened, and the world will be falling apart. So a sixth season dealing with both losing whatever AoS characters would be gone, but also dealing with a society falling apart, and one that features a "growing" superpower presence.

Jed Whedon directing the finale is amazing news. For anyone not aware, the first and only episode he has directed other than the upcoming finale was the best episode in the series: season 4's "Self Control."

You're a brave man just venturing into any Marvel thread - hope nothing gets spoiled for you ahead of seeing the film :)

I ventured in without thinking to see people's reactions to Friday's episode, couldn't help myself haha. I'm going to try and see it sooner, just trying to coordinate with a couple other people.

I was just looking at info on the new Ant Man movie after seeing the trailer, and had a thought. A week or two ago, someone here mentioned that Chloe filmed a scene with some secret guest after the season 5 wrap up party. Considering that Ant Man and the Wasp takes place right before (and possible during) Infinity War, I'm wondering if it might be a character from that film, specifically Randall Park, who is listed as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in that movie. He also stars on ABC's Fresh Off the Boat, so he might be an easy get for the show.

That would make sense, given that a potential Season 6 would likely be about
The reformation of SHIELD in the time between A3 and A4
