Chances that Talbot will be among the ones that
gets erased by Thanos and sorta saves the day?

Safe to watch if I haven't seen Infinity War yet?
Yeah, this one's still safe but I'd definitely see the movie before the next one if you're concerned about spoilers. By directly bringing up Thanos himself, they've fully re-confirmed this is still just as connected to the MCU as ever, so very soon they will likely be spoiling big stuff from the movie.
Like Lotus said, I also wouldn't read any episode reviews or at least really check for a warning first, because some of them will probably further explain how the time lines up between what's going on here and what's going on in Infinity War at this time.

They just said his name a few times. We get excited over little things like that haha.

Man I love this show. Always hyped to watch it each week.

Can't wait to see the final episodes and see what, if any, role IW has on them.

They gotta get a sixth season, please!

Infinity War spoilers with AoS theory:

They won't dust any of the main cast. Simply because if they get renewed for season 6, that would mean that one of the cast members gets a paid vacation for almost an entire season until the final 3 episodes of season 6 that take place after Avengers 4 -- when the dusting is undone and everyone comes back.

Having a couple smaller characters get dusted and then having season 6 take place during the aftermath would be so damn interesting.

Enjoying Talbot's heel turn. The Democrats joke made me think that, they're going for a mentally unstable person being given the ultimate power... Hmm.

It makes sense that he would be conservative.

Based on the show's history (specific digs at Fox News in seasons 2 and 3, the blatantly anti-Trump commentary in the Framework), it's pretty clear where the writers stand. Talbot being conservative (despite the actor being most definitely not) likely nails that point home.

Someone on Reddit just went back and transcribed the dialogue from Future Yo-Yo.
It's totally happening.

Mack... He's still alive. Hold him for as long as you can.

What happens to Mack? What happens?

I was on fire, reaching for Mack. And then there was nothing there.

I've only seen seasons 1-3 of this show. Been waiting for season 4 to hit Blu-Ray (which I am hearing soon) and was just wondering how season 5 has been so far and how the quality holds up to the earlier seasons?

Lol you aren't kidding, the Kanye pic with trumps hair is hilarious.

Another fantastic episode as always, Talbot going off the deep end is so enjoyable to watch since the actor does such a good job.

It will be hard to pull off for sure, but they absolutely can't take the easy route for it.
The snap just conveniently dusting random background characters and maybe one or two characters we kinda care about like Piper would be a cop out and go against the tone of the movie. They shouldn't have even committed to addressing IW if they were gonna do that. They could have easily just said AoS takes places a few months before IW, but they didn't. 1-2 of the core cast needs to go.

Definitely gonna be interesting how they handle it, and it makes me really hope we get a S6 to see what they do with it.

As someone who hasn't seen Infinity War, IDGAF I am going to watch this to the end. Spoilers are probably gonna be a bitch, but I am more commited to this wild ride at this point than the MCU proper. Talbot EMH, Daisy with the gravedigging, that stinger, this whole episode was glorious. And the ABC previews are being way coy with this being the season ending, that pause in the preview knew what it was doing. Bring on Season 6 baby, its going too fast to stop now!

imo dusted will be Piper, Deke, Mack and Fitz.

Than the frozen Fitz will be awaken.
This makes me think, with there being two Fitzes, what would logically happen after the snap? Would they both get dusted since they're technically the same person, or would just one vanish since that would "balance" things? Likely the second, if only for plot purposes.

I'm not feeling this season. I'm beginning to hate so many characters and I'm getting bored of the grey hallways in every single episode.

No movie is worth seeing in a theater. I don't watch anything until it hits redbox.

Any movie worth seeing is worth seeing in the theater. Nothing like the theater experience!

Agents of Shield is one of my favorite shows, love the risks they take with it. Was shocked last week when they revealed Graviton, loving what Talbot is doing with it so far!

And now I know why the Avengers aren't blasting a giant alien ship out of the sky.

The IW "tie-in" seems written without any knowledge of what actually happens in the movie. I don't think they had any real tie-in plan beyond that rumored extra scene Chloe filmed - and I think it's a safe bet it was only around then TV side even got clued in, as that would be around the time they could see the completed film.

?

They knew about and built towards the Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron stuff, I don't really see a reason why they wouldn't be at least casually informed about what to expect from Infinity War and how to build around it.

As it has been pointed out before, that was before the Feige/Perlmutter split. There is a world of difference between events in the film being discussed and addressed directly then and yesterday's reference being nothing more than a name-drop that literally anyone who watches movie trailers would have already known about.

There are two very specific lines of dialogue that appear to be foreshadowing future events. Theyve known about what they were integrating since at least the midseason finale.

They will just drop someone from the main cast if needed.

Also, to be entirely fair...

It's not like Thanos wiping half the universe is a surprise. Anyone who read the Infinity Gauntlet comic should've expected that. The question is whether they use the same visual effect to address it.

Wow that instragram, I can't decide if it is great because it is so normal, or just normal ones are just that crazy

I haven't been keeping up with it after I finished the first arc, imo it was the most boring one in the entire series.

Until proven otherwise, I'm still assuming that Whedon and Tancharoen didn't find out about the film's ending until last week.

Season 5 has been amazing so far. Season 4 in particular is GOAT level stuff, 10/10, whereas Season 5 is well on its way to being a solid 9 if they nail the ending.

Yeah daisy is HORRIBLE this season. Like unsufferable.

I understand where everyone is coming from this season. This isn't some blatantly manufactured drama. Everyone is legit shook and on edge over two things: The time loop (that some members of the team consider to be unbreakable) that puts the world at risk, as well as Coulson's impending doom that is also seemingly unavoidable. Everyone has their own idea of what to do, and how to do it, and it all fits how they've been characterized. The 2nd half of this season at its core is basically everyone gaining a darker understanding of one another. Except for like Mack, although of course we see how he's been reacting to most of his team, especially Yo-Yo.

For Yo-Yo, impulsive and brash behavior + trauma of losing her arms + knowledge of how to apparently break the loop is a dangerous combo.

Daisy with her... arguably more impulsive and brash behavior that she's had since S1, where we know she'll do whatever it takes to save her father figure's life.

The normally uptight May more or less being on Daisy's side because she loves Coulson too.

Fitz's cutthroat actions (and Doctor reveal) making perfect sense considering all he's been through, including his time in the Framework.

Jemma coming to the conclusion that she's "invincible" and the risks that coerces her to take as a result is not the least bit surprising as Jemma has always been a crazy person. Always.

Mack being "Mr. Morals" who annoyingly wags his finger at everyone willing to do whatever it takes to complete these objectives is completely consistent with his characterization. He's always been the one who's the most willing to view things from a black-and-white perspective. Ideologically speaking, he's basically on the opposite end of everyone else, always has been.

Coulson keeping secrets is not the least bit surprising, much less him having no qualms over sacrificing himself.

And Deke is just weird.

So as long as everyone's actions make sense to me from a character standpoint, I'm fine with the drama, with any of them being frustrating. If they were acting out of character for no good reason, or if this was something that could be solved with a simple conversation, I'd be upset myself. But yea, the current situation they've found themselves makes it pretty understandable why everyone is acting the way they are.
