Am I missing something obvious, or is there no Backwards Compatibility section of the store or search filter on the Xbox One? I know you can browse/buy items here relatively easily, and that you can manually search for a specific title on the console, but I didn't see a straightforward "here's a list of BC games from these platforms"
There's a filter for ESRB ratings, but not one for "Original System Release"? lol
I just checked and I'm pretty certain if you selected the Browse Games section in the store there was a Backwards Compatible row that you could select Show All, but it seems to have been removed for some reason.Am I missing something obvious, or is there no Backwards Compatibility section of the store or search filter on the Xbox One? I remember playing SSX Tricky when I was younger and I really liked it. I'm not sure I played the rest of the older games, though. The only one I own is the reboot from 2012, which I didn't play for too long. The footage of SSX3 on Digital Foundry got me in the mood to play it, looks real nice and I miss snowboarding games.I'm being a broken record, but do it. No arcade snowboarding game has ever topped SSX 3 imo, and it's never looked better.
The only gripes I have with it are low-res skyboxes that don't upscale with the rest of the game (which is a limitation with the Xbox Backwards Compatibility emulation), and all videos being encoded in a low-framerate and bitrate quality. Oh, and make sure to switch the controls to Pro instead of Default. Takes getting used to jumping and boosting with the triggers, but it beats being able to perform Spins/Flips with the Stick over the D-Pad.
What a fantastic game. I never figured I'd be playing it again all these years later. Now, if only it featured Xbox Live Multiplayer. Our only hope for that would be a remake. That or a port of the PS2 version onto current PlayStation hardware with its online capabilities restored. Perhaps it's a little more realistic to wish for SSX Tricky to be restored instead. Until then: Check out SSX 3.
Thinking about multiplayer and a remake of SSX 3, one that adds an optional shared universe to the game could be fun. Say you transport to the top of peak 3 the game could group you with several other players who are also starting their freeride from there at that point, so you can freeride down with random players at any time. If you decide to break off and enter an event you could then be matched with others who are entering the same event there and then. It would add a nice multiplayer touch to the game's light open world aspect.
I didn't like what I played of Steep.
Neither was Lost Odyssey, arguable a lot harder to do with 4 discs. But they did it.
Unfortunately I think enough time has passed since Arkham Origins became BC that a digital version seems unlikely at this point.
Started the Witcher 2 on my X...I would have liked to start from the first game, but it's not BC and I don't think the enhanced version was on 360 anyway - the PC version also has crazy weird controls that I couldn't manage.
I've hooked my 360 back up in preparation for my first playthrough of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I don't know if the game is ever going to go BC at this point, and I wasn't going to wait any longer to play it. So here we go, downloading it off of Games on Demand and starting soon.
Lost Odyssey is also a first party game, hence Microsoft going through all that trouble. However I don't see why Warner Brothers wouldn't want to upload a digital version since it went BC, especially since it wasn't part of the remaster.Neither was Lost Odyssey, arguable a lot harder to do with 4 discs. Started the Witcher 2 on my X. I might do a lttp on it. Interesting so far, but it's got some things I find odd. The first game was never released on any console, sadly. This also means no controller support. I tried to play the first game on a TV with the Steam controller and steam profiles but it was still a pain. I've been playing PC games since 1990 so I know my way around M&K but I pretty much refuse to use them for gaming anymore. I gave up on the first game and just went to the second. No regrets.

I can't find it either, it's ridiculous. It is relatively easy to find using the website, but on the XBX? No chance.
Did they remove it for some reason? There used to be a section for BC games until very recently, at least in the US. I'll check tonight and see if it's disappeared on my X. Showed the most recent releases and then you could select "show all/more" and see the whole list.
I just checked and yeah, the entire section has been completely removed from the store. I couldn't find any way to see back compat games any longer.
RFG has a remaster on the way, so I can't see that getting a BC release any time soon.predictions for today: Red Faction Guerilla, Retro City Rampage DX
I agree, but THQ is also kind of weird. Both Darksiders games are available as b/c and Darksiders (360) is XBX enhanced before Darksiders Remastered is.RFG has a remaster on the way, so I can't see that getting a BC release any time soon.
It could happen, I just think they'd hold off until the remaster sales have tailed off.I agree, but THQ is also kind of weird. Both Darksiders games are available as b/c and Darksiders (360) is XBX enhanced before Darksiders Remastered is.

I would consider playing an X enhanced Prototype 2? I wouldn't mind an excuse to finish Bioshock 2.
How about the most recent SSX?! I'm pretty sure I preordered it and played it for less than an hour.
Something that's stupidly bugging me: Psychonauts is unfortunately titled as "Full Game - Psychonauts". In other words, when the Xbox Library is organized A-Z, Psychonauts is misplaced under F instead of P.
