Moving into your new apratment while black.
https://www.onenewspage.com/video/20180501/10008090/Cops-Respond-to-`Burglary-in-Progress`-Call-to.htm
After spending several years working on Capitol Hill and in the White House with the Obama Administration, Martin recently made the move back to New York, getting a job with the city and finding a unit in a 5-story walk-up on the Upper West Side.

On moving day this past Friday, Martin got an unexpected visit from the NYPD.

"I'm in my apartment but you know – you can't go nowhere without the cops following me," Martin said during the encounter live streamed via Instagram.

Turns out, someone called 911 to report a "burglary in progress" and the suspect was the building's brand new tenant – Martin.

"Somebody called the cops on me in my own building," he told viewers who were tuning in to watch the live video. "About how many are ya'll? About six of ya'll showed up, rolled up on me."

He has a packed work schedule and that was the only time he had to move into the building.

"I didn't really think anyone was going to call the cops on me because I mean – I was moving into the building."

Giving a beggar at 7/11 change while black

Jesus. I feel like crying. I really feel like tearing into those sick fucking officers. An absolute disgrace to the job and anyone who'd defend their bullshit is just as much of a pathetic disgrace.

This is one of the most important threads on Era
100% And I garuntee there are multiple users actively avoiding this thread so the don't have to confront their BS ideas about racism being over.

I am glad to see a thread like this here. It makes my blood boil reading and watching these videos. I know I am very lucky to be white and will never experience these type of injustice or face risk for being killed for nothing. Thanks to the community for opening us previously ignorant minds eyes to these tragedies. As I kid I never thought about these things. It still feels a bit unbelievable that these things happen today without any consequence.
It is also crazy to read racist apologies at this forum whenever there is a thread about racism.

Will be watching this thread from now on.

This thread absolutely deserves more clicks.

It's downright bizarre to see something like "moves into apartment, gets cop called on them" or "getting cop aggro for jogging in pink" o.O

What really gets me is the perfectly normal things that suddenly turns into "aggressive cops charging in" for zero apparent reason other than skin color of the victim. It's utterly bizarre.

What the fuck, I hate this world.
Some time ago I would have said some stupid shit like "there is no white male privilege", I was wrong, so god damn wrong.

Suddenly when this shit spreads, there are a lot less cops and cop worshipers around so eager to tie themselves in knots explaining why black people don't know anything about standard procedures, etc.
If he has a record, they'll just focus on that in order to justify this.

If he doesn't have a record, they'll say "he was no angel" because he jaywalked once or got a parking ticket, so deserved the kick to the head.

Disappointed to see that graduation shit happen at the college I went to but at least the President apologized. Hopefully he makes good on his word to make it better. He seems like a good guy but who knows.

Playing loud music while Black:

Cop is back on the force after being fired from another department for beating his wife and not letting her escape the house. Clearly a stand up guy who should be policing the community.

Wth.. I tweeted this out to the police department asking why do they have this man employed there. Also sent it to The Shreveport Times news.

edit:
So, he's on paid leave for investigation in this case. Also, he won a hearing to be reinstated after being fired for the domestic violence charge. I'm guessing no one showed up to testify against him, and the charges were dropped.

It's pretty obvious that people don't trust their lives with the police when you have person who called the police say "Don't shoot him".

I'm a white non-American and I can't watch these (I watched the one where the cop kicked the guy while he was down and cuffed out of some kind of morbid curiosity, but that'll probably be it. From now on I'll stick to staring slack-jawed at the stills and tweets). I can't begin to imagine how painful they are for people with a stake in this.

This one happen to me, "10 years old and sitting in the car".

With my younger brother and two cousins. Police were called, and a kid white, might of been 16 years old asked us what we were doing in his neighbor hood.

Hey, it's good to see number 53 is there but...that article is poorly written and a little hard to follow. Could it be changed to the Wikipedia page?

This little detail is quite terrifying:

Kinsey's lawyer stated that when another officer asked the shooting officer "why did you shoot this guy", the shooter again responded, "I don't know."

Officers just going around shooting others without conscious thought. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
