How is Kekkai Sensen/Blood Blockade Battlefront compared to the anime? Looking for something to read and ive been interested in checking out this series for awhile. How long has it been unavailable on Amazon btw and does anyone here know if they are going to get more in stock?

Also came across this series called Bungou Stray Dogs. Sounds pretty interesting and its available on Comixology which is a plus, but had never heard of it till today.

Also picked up the first few volumes of MHA and just started reading it finally. Havent read any manga since before the Shippuden arc in Naruto lol.

While im here, I would also like to ask if anyone can recommend which of the Nihei books I should check out first. Ive been really interested in his works, but dont know where the best place to start would be since im basically going in blind, aside from seeing the Sidonia anime and Blame movie on Netflix.

Especially when said character was on borrowed time since they were supposed to have died much earlier in the story and the editor convinced the mangaka to change it.

I never read all of Tomo but as far as I can tell Jun wants to give it to Tomo and Tomo wants to get it from Jun and they just don't because it's a generic anime plot. I dunno, I guess dense doesn't seem like the right word, more like he's just a wimp who never does anything about it.

The author of Bloom Into You is so good at drawing hands. I'm terrible at it so I'm always in awe when an artist manages to draw them so naturally. She's especially good at communicating grip and tension when a character is either touching or holding something. If someone is holding a water bottle, I can almost hear the plastic crinkle. I also dig the different perspectives they're drawn from as well.

Who else draws amazing hands?

He's a total wimp and completely in denial. Tomo could literally spell it out for him and he would temporarily forget how to read. It's a shame because Jun is actually a badass otherwise.

When I finished the anime over a year ago, I thought about getting the manga, but some of the volumes were out of stock then. Dark Horse gonna Dark Horse. Wish they were at least better about digital. Who knows if they will even bother releasing the Back 2 Back volumes (continuation of series with a different name I think).

Yea I do wish Dark Horse and others released more of their books digitally, on services like CMX.

Was the anime good atleast? Looking for a good series to start reading, but I have no idea what's good anymore lol.

BTW, that Manga Recs list on Wordpress thats posted in the OT is a really neat idea! Was pretty helpful when looking for something that interested me.

I mean, the nominal plot is "she's such a tomboy lol" but other characters are constantly slobbering over her looks and staring at her tits, which includes Jun himself, so being in denial seems dumb.

Seven Deadly Sins Okay, I think there might be some demon mechanics here we don't know about yet? I'm going to be honest, I never thought the demon and angel world building in this would be so damn interesting/intriguing, but its the stuff I look forward to the most was we get deeper and deeper into this endgame.

Bungou stray dogs anime is great after it gets out of its ramping up phase early (anime).

Are you on a Bones studio anime run through challenge?

S1 blood blockade battlefront original anime atory arc is great.

Bungou is similar in general premise to Blood Blockade, bunch of superpowered guys from detective agency battling bad guys in a city (no aliens though) with a similar mix and style of humour&seriousness. Judging from anime the former has stronger focus on characters arcs and continuous plotlines. I can only vouch for anime of Bungou here but it's been pretty good even if fights could stand to have more and better actual animation in them. The 4 episodes prequel arc is one of the best thing anime wise of past few years.

Been more of a comic guy lately, haven't touched any Manga since the early Naruto days lol. Just browsing to see what interested me and Bunguo really stood out to me as something I'd be interested in.

Horikoshi and Toriyama def draw some good hands, especially fists. I also dig how Kaguya's author draws hands. They aren't very detailed but they're drawn a little big and the poses he draws them in are charming.

I think, if this gets animated and we get this arc done, it will become decisive and people will quit because it got pretty generic. Though I love Ray immensely, it just felt so unbelievable that they just happened to pop up when the kid was faced with the worst, when, in the other times it happened here at least one of the new kids found courage in themself to take down the baddie of their own power and confidence. Ray's and the nameless geezer saving moment ought to have been used when Emma was pinned down at some other point in this arc.

Bloom Into You 11-31

Caught up with this amazing series. So many LAYERSSSSSS in that play. I had chuckle at the audience squealing and clapping during the yuri scenes lol.

Even though there's a lot unresolved, it feels like we're heading into the final arc. The relationship felt kind of abusive at times but I'm glad Yuu is a strong lead and she was able to assert herself.

Oh yeah Horishiki (Boku no Hero) hands are really really good, even if they're cartoony

I remember he said in an author note he actually super hated drawing hands, so he made his villain just covered in hands to force himself to practice

I read that Horikoshi loves drawings hands as he considers them one of the most expressive parts of a character. He mentioned that he had difficulty drawing inexpressive hands and that it became very exhausting when he drew Shigaraki, much like the case with Shiozaki and her vine hair.
