Cleric - Ifrit

Cleric is arguably the avant-metal spiritual successor to Mr Bungle. This is their second full-length album on Trey Spruance's label, Web of Mimicry. John Zorn even appears on a track. This came out late last year and is criminally underrated. They're currently wrapping up a short East Coast tour.

Been listening to this non-stop for like a month now. It's just got the right blending of heart-warming cozy and enigmatic forlorn, mixed with a bit of slow dance that has me returning to it time and again. A good backdrop for daily life and the time between momentous occasion. Just had to share.

Julien Baker's album Turn Out The Lights has basically been the soundtrack to my life for the past week.

Also I binge watched all of Carmilla so I have the theme song stuck in my head. I found a decent acoustic cover too which has allowed it to sneak into my guitar practice time too.

A new album from La Barranca has dropped, and is everything I want and love from them

Lo Eterno:

Astronomia:

I always say that language is no barrier for good music, but if you like any song from them, take your time and look for the lyrics, there's a very high posibility you'll like the song more, and that's because Jose Manuel Aguilera the lead of the band, takes his time with the pen.

Listening to some White Stripes for the time in full as I've only heard their singles previously.

Also checking out King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard at the behest of a fellow Era member and their first album 12 Bar Bruise is some blistering greatness.

I've been importing some CDs.

I was listening to Marilyn Manson's Eat Me, Drink Me earlier (one of my favourites), also The High End of Low which I also quite like.

Right now, I'm listening to some Mudvayne.

The RATM thread someone posted earlier this week got me listening to their debut album and Evil Empire. I've been enjoying the hell out of that.

Thanks to seeing Dust Bolt the other night, I've been in a thrash metal mood. So them, Power Trip (just ordered their newest on vinyl for under 10 bucks) and Havok since they just announced at show in my town.
