Been listening to Utada's 'Play a Love Song' on repeat for nearly two days now. Really love it.
Also Sarah Alainn released a new song yesterday out of the blue "Asu no Memory", it's beautiful and I have been listening to that on repeat as well.
So much music this week.

This guy is preeeeetty good (I assume most of y'all know him already as the head of Tokyo Recordings and his works with other artists like SuiCan)
His debut single last year was with Utada Hikaru (legit the first time I heard her voice in my life), and he just released his first album.

This isn't surprising given the title and concept of the EP, but it really reminds me of a Brit pop song, but I don't know which, something by the Lightning Seeds maybe.

Sadly, their music doesn't do really anything for me. I do love watching them on variety shows and following Ano on instagram, though. Very amusing gals.

Edit: I liked that song more than I usually like their songs, though. Fun and cute video, too.

Suchmos to release a mini-album, THE ASHTRAY, on June 20. They'll also do 2 shows at Yokohama Arena in November.
Super excited for new material. Their last 3 songs have been excellent (I guess they won't be on it though)

Akai Koen's latest album was my favorite so I'm hoping we get new material soon. Kinda thought they'd keep going as a 3-piece actually, since the members have some nice voices.

Keyakizaka46 news : Shida and Aoi are going on hiatus for some time. Shida is for health reasons (she hasn't appeared in music programs since Kouhaku so that makes sense), Aoi is taking time to focus on school (pretty sure it's her last year of high school).
Hope my dear Shida will come back soon :'(

got an ototoy notification that there is a new Yanakoto Sotto Mute album out today (was this a surprise or am I just oblivious? e: i'm just oblivious) and then it said it's not available in my region :V

Turns out it's on streaming services in the US already. seems good.

previously the only region locked stuff i saw was stuff that's available in other regions (i.e. you wanted to buy an american artist on their store from america). I guess on top of japanese labels *finally* figuring out international distribution, they're now figuring out regional licensing?

but hey no complaints here, the less stuff I have to import or pay silly prices for, the better.

I went to NMFT 11 in October and it was great. The line up isn't as much my style this time around, but I'm sure it'll be great either way.
