So I may have embarrassed myself on Twitter by championing the idea of Xolo Mariduena as a future Miles Morales. He was cool in his reply, and correctly remarked that an afrolatino should take the part.

Of course, he's down for Nova, Blue Beetle, or Ghost Rider.

He was awesome, wasn't sold on him in the trailers but he was so good in this , one hell of a transformation throughout the 10 episodes.

Finished it today after starting it last night. Really great ride from start to finish. I enjoyed how they worked scenes into the show from the movie. I really laughed at scenes. Did not expect this at all.

I think I need to rewatch to fully digest.

Just finished the series. Surprisingly good. It's tough to straddle serious drama, comedy, and nostalgia for a movie 30+ years old, but they found the right balance and the end result was impressive. I'm not even a huge fan of the movie, but found this to be great. William Zabka did a surprisingly great job in the series.

Zabka killed it. I was thoroughly impressed by his performance.

All 4 are available on hulu, 1st one on Amazon prime. I did this, watched the first 3 after watching the series. I realized I had never seen part 3, and wow. 1st is a classic, 2nd is good, and the only one Daniel isn't really an asshole. But part 3, again wow, that one should be on mst3k. It was hilarious for all the wrong reasons, I enjoyed it, but the hammy villains cracked me up.

Yes, I agree. I think if anything the show is trying to show how there is a thin line between heroes and villains with most of the key characters waffling back and forth in between. Robbie, Sammy, Miguel, Daniel and Johnny all at various points were villainous or heroic.

I only speak for myself but this is the first time I've ever given a damn about YouTube Red. Then again I'm a 30 something adult with a nostalgia for my youth and not a 15 year old kid following "influencers" online so what do I know.

Its almost guaranteed a season 2. Over 5 million views of the first episode in the first 24 hours which is huge and it's up to over 15 million earlier today. 100 percent rotten tomatoes, and near universal praise from everyone that's watched the full season.

Yea part 3 is bad. I just watched part 1, and there were some little things that I forgot about.

In the beginning during the beach scene, Freddy tries to take the ball away from Daniel and the ball bounces and hits him in the face. I don't think they meant to do that, but it was funny.

I completely forgot about the term "dead meat"..that such an 80's thing. I don't know what it is, but every time I watch this or back to the future i wish I could be a kid again.

How come we can see the amount of views the first episode is getting but only that. From ep 2 we dont get to see the views and from ep3 onwards we cant even comment under the video even! Why?

It's because it's not a typical youtube video, it's a video being published by youtube themselves, and they get to decide how much information they want to give out.

The view count on the first episode is apparently kind of skewed, because youtube has apparently been trying to drum up awareness for the show by redirecting people to the first episode. If you looked at the second episode's view count, you'd probably get a better picture of how well the show's doing, but youtube doesn't want you to get a better picture, they want you to see the ultra-positive picture they're trying to create.

I just watched the 1st movie. I have to admit, I don't really remember the other two movies.

I wonder if the next season if they will re-introduce characters from those movies. Maybe even grab Hillary Swank and Walter Goggins. Lol

I really liked KK Part II when I was growing up.

That would be great. I could see some apprehension to be involved in the first season as it was a huge risk. But now seeing how successful and good it turned out, it would be nice to have a small arc with cameos from some of these characters. All 3 of those actors are actively working (and look good, I might add). Do it for Pat!

Man, I remember this skit. This was 7 years ago already? Ralph Macchio still looked like a guy in his 20s here. In Cobra Kai he's finally starting to look his age a bit, but here at 48 years old he's still got that fountain of youth thing going.
