Well if he sacrifices both daughters than the balance is lost. Nebula even survives the culling.
It's because he's very angry all the time, got the nickname after losing to his brother 6 times in a row in DoA 3 and he broke the controller.
Would it be possible for Strange to make a portal to the sun so when Thanos jumped a portal would be opened to the sun so he would fall into the sun?

This is just a random observation, but I remember when I watched Doctor Strange and they made a point about using some magic rings to open the portals with, I thought: "well, that's stupid, and they will get rid of it in the next movie", and unless I missed it in this movie, they totally got rid of it because it's stupid. I get the point of having certain enchanted items like the cape, etc. but it takes away from the movie when you end up needing enchanted toilet paper to wipe your ass.

With only counters? That's a damn villain backstory right there.
I mean, that would be incredible but I doubt they would take that route because the critical response would likely be negative.

I wasn't really looking for it, but I've seen the movie twice and I didn't notice both times. So I'll have to wait until it shows up on video to look again I'm afraid.
Which is fine. I just remembered thinking it when his movie came out.
Ant-Man and the Wasp takes place in between CW and IW. We won't see the effects of the snap in the world until A4.
If his science son and his wife got got A4 will just be the Godkiller armor descending upon Thanos.

Quick question, how come Thanos waited up until this point to take the stones?
Was there something in the Thor movies or GOTG that eludes to something holding him back from dropping by Earth and taking the stones immediately? They seem to have the ability to track the stones too, they find Vision no problem.

Guessing he needed to figure out where they all were first and the accumulate them all quickly before people could realize he was in the market for them.

He does have a line to Gamora at the Soul Stone temple where he says something like "I delayed my Destiny once before, not again". I wasn't sure what he meant by that though. Maybe 'raising' Gamora & Nebula instead of just cracking on with gathering the stones?
Nothing is ever said in the films but some of us speculate that the death of Odin could have played into it. Perhaps Odin would have been a formidable opponent against Thanos, so Thanos decided to bide his time and in the end, didn't need to attack Asgard and Odin for the Space Gem.
By the end of Age of Ultron, it seems he's had enough of waiting for Loki and/or Ronan and/or Gamora to deliver their Infinity Stones, so he gets out of his chair and decides to "do it himself", as he says.
Also, his Chitauri army got wiped out by the Avengers so I'm guessing he wasn't going to be so quick to try again. Let his small order handle things and come back to Earth when he's got the rest of the stones.
I've seen people point to Odin dying (who was the protector the the 9 Realms) and the Ancient One dying as possibly the biggest threats to Thanos completing his mission. Also the Avengers were split up from Civil War and Asgard as a whole was destroyed in Ragnarok, so even the secondary threats were weakened.
Also worth noting that in addition to Odin, you have Hela, Surtur, Ego, Malekith, Ronan and The Ancient One gone as well. I mean that's a lot of threat to Thanos sorted out. Ancient One would've whipped his ass with ease.
Does anyone in Canada know how the IMAX theatres are for this? I'm in the GTA I can't easily get out to Scotiabank this week which I know is the best. Mississauga has 70mm IMAX which I'm assuming is a bigger screen for movies like this too. I've only been to IMAX for Nolan movies.
The way I see it Thanos wanted some "easy" stones before starting shit with people that could fight back. It's why he goes after Reality and Soul before directly dicking with anyone, Thor even says something along the lines of "two of them are being guarded by the Avengers so he's going to Knowhere".
We know he sent Gamora to look for the Soul Gem some time before the events of Guardians of the Galaxy, which is when he had tasked Ronan with finding the Power Gem. Thanos also already had the Mind Gem, since he gave that to Loki before the first Avengers movie.
We also now know Thanos didn't attack Asgard for the Space Gem because Odin would have easily killed him.
If you think about it, maybe Thanos didn't make his move until after Asgard was destroyed because he knew he couldn't beat the Asgardians? It's pretty telling that he attacked Xandar for the Power Gem first and he clearly wasn't stupid enough to attack the remaining Asgardians without a full army, either.
I prefer my own theory that everyone who was dusted was actually a Skrull. It makes just as much sense.
