I'll probably check out both of these. I've enjoyed the leads in other projects before.
Welcome to the Neighborhood makes me think it will be like Ned Flanders moving to a rough place and the concept itself is a little amusing to me already

I mean honestly, has Nathan Fillion ever been on a good show?
Starz desperately locking down what's working after how horrible those premieres went.
Did they purposefully make him look old in that picture? He doesn't usually look that old.
Love Nathan Fillion but this show couldn't look more generic/awful if they tried... which means it will likely get good ratings!
If they get the right actor it can work. I remember a german crime drama that recast the lead after three seasons when the original actor quit, they did an episode where he crashed his car which exploded, he had surgery and got a new face, it was nuts (intentionally) but calling attention to the ridiculousness helped them getting away with the recast imo. The show ran for five more seasons, the new guy lasted longer than the original actor.
What happened to him? Did they make him look old intentionally?
My hopes for the few broadcast shows I still watch:
End:
- Modern Family (it's already been renewed for a maybe-final tenth season, but as I mentioned previously, they're mulling an 11th season. It really doesn't need an 11th season)
- Brooklyn Nine-Nine (for the same reason as you - I don't want it to dip again in quality and there's something to be said by ending on a high note)
Renew:
- Agents of SHIELD (depending on how the season ends, I could be fine with a renewal or cancellation. There's loads of potential for one definitively final season following the events of Infinity War, but, as enjoyable as this season has been, I'm afraid another season set in dimly lit grey hallways (the result of the minuscule budget that ABC seems willing to commit to it) wouldn't be enough to do it justice)
Whatever:
- Bob's Burgers (I enjoy the show, and it's coming back this fall, but after 150+ episodes I'm fine with them ending it any time)
Watching Blacklist as it shows at the bottom series finale next week. ..WTF when was this cancelled?

I assume it's just how Canadian channels refer to TV show finales, just as they do in the UK.

Usually it's season finale here. Someone on Twitter mentioned it, as well. Could be the broadcaster wrote it wrong, or could be it's not coming back. I'm assuming the broadcaster messed up.
Here is the promo that aired in US, it just said "FINALE" at the very end (no voiceover or anything). Which I find interesting cause in my experience they almost always use "season finale" wording even on shows that have absolutely no chance of returning.
Would certainly be interesting if a Canadian television station accidentally announced the cancellation beforehand.

After the great job they did with Cobra Kai I have hope they nail this one too. EVERYONE WATCH COBRA KAI.
It's possible CityTV is calling it a series finale because they picked up too many shows and don't have room in the schedule for it anymore.
