Didn't Nintendo basically clarify that older games will definitely be coming, but they just won't be branded under the VC name? I doubt they were just referring to the online enhanced NES games.

I wonder if we'll essentially see "classic game collections" that have all of the games from the classic consoles.
It's on the Nvidia Shield of all things. Nintendo has a working emulator for the X1. There's no way they're going to waste something like that just for China. Personally I think Gamecube and Wii games are the only things they're going to sell on the eShop. The rest will either not be on the Switch or par of their online service.

That sounds too good honestly and the fact that the next Donkey Kong is "Wooden Fury" ? Yeah that's 100% grade A bullshit.

Rumour: According to an article referencing an IGN Forum, Retro Studios will reveal Open World Star Fox (2018) and Donkey Kong Country: Wooden Fury (2019) at E3.

Grains of salt, but it would be funny if this Lylat thing is what Ms. Rogers was referring to, days ago. I think she deleted the tweet since then, but she said something to the effect of "a classic Nintendo IP in a new genre" for a weekend thoughts post...

Liam Robetson also posted an image of Star Fox hinting at an upcoming reveal, so something similar is possible.

Reminder that it is not really new for Retro.

The Prime series is exactly that, taking an existing Nintendo IP, Metroid, and putting it in whole new genre, FPS.

Well, as star fox fan, it hurts that you know its fake because they caledl it "the biggest switch game of 2018", but the idea is mostly generic and stupid anyway. Excpet for the vehivles, that sounded kinda dope.

This was posted on Gamefaqs too lol. There was way more to the rumor

That rumor is hilarious but deserves credit for the creativity of name selection.
Yeah this is the original rumor.

I mean it's clearly fake lol.

I think Shinen working on F-Zero is more real than Star Fox getting another chance.

Everyone has been screaming at them saying their game feels and sounds like F-Zero (Fast Racing Neo has the GX announcer) so they need to just fucking make one.

We have been getting hints of a new Starfox so Retro working on it would be dope. Nintendo EPD just doesnt know what to do with the franchise so handing it to Retro to make it somehing big seems like a good idea. They did it with Metroid and Donkey Kong and that turned out great. Going with what Emily Rogers said about what Retro is up to I think this rumour is actually plausible and it does sound ambitious and surprising.

Some people are really naif.

It's literally impossible for a person knowing all these stuffs unless they work for Retro Studios in the higher-ups (especially because the timeline and the "intention" to reveal/release the game are not something everyone working there could possibly know).

Also, there's no way Nintendo is going to present at E3 a DK game to be released on holiday 2019.

The Prime series is not a shooter series though, it is a very clear 3D iteration of the same game concept that Super Metroid used.

It might feel natural today but at the time it was considered as a strange take on the franchise.

The fact that it was made by a studio with no pedigree didnt help either.

Sooooo

Eurogamer agrees there is a Star fox game but says it's a racing game. It sounds like a different genre although it could possibly be a racing game with open world elements.

Does that lend credence to the idea there's DK game as well with the rumor from a couple days ago, or is it just coincidence that rumor guessed Star Fox?

Nah, that was some open-world, partly on-foot, exploration-based claim. It also had a different title. And that one is def fake.
