World has been out for little over 3 months, it's not like they're drip feeding the content. I'm not sure what people expect.
Well, they are including more monsters, which is a QOL improvement for me.

I'm just buying this to have fun and confuse Cacpcom. What I really want is a downgraded MHW on switch with a large number of monsters and more areas. If this does well, we'll probably just get mh5 next year with old school game play and none of the upgrades.

And why do I have to roast individual meats in mhw when generations had the 10 at a time roast? Talk about QOL.

As great as MHW was I miss old bowguns. And I hear Brave HBG is all kinds of stupid in this. Definintely looking forward to it, even if this + PC MHW is gonna be kinda MH overload.

What QOL changes are people talking about specifically ?

Item management, crafting list, linear areas, tracking monster manually with paint , and what else ?

Thankfully world already eased me into most of it, but honestly the though of having 90+ monsters plus tons of weapons and armour balances outweigh any ui problems

being portables a great plus

That's basically the gist of it.

I was honestly a bit disappointed with World because not only the monsters were similar (more fucking wyverns?) but a lot of the fights were also really samey.

Hell, some armor sets were basically useless to acquire because the bonuses never really helped in later fights. For example, the Paolumu set was cute, but didn't help me advance at all. So why bother hunting it?

Played the demo of XX and I'm super excited about it.

They did do USF2 distro and Stories publishing. Nothing after those though and if they're not offering distro for this (after they did for Tri, 3U, 4U and Gen) that might not be a good sign for relations between the two.

Nintendo not offering Capcom deals for RER Collection and Okami HD are likely why they're digital only in some regions.
I thought they only handled releases for Tri, 3U and 4U just in Europe? Capcom has always flown solo in the US aside from Stories, though 3U's servers were graciously hosted by Nintendo.

So they actually brought it over. I dont know if im "excited" over something that should have been out a year ago but whatever. I'll see what is out around that time to see if i want to jump in. It's going to be full price isnt it? lol

This is my head space. Its a year and a half late by August and that's possibly pushing into MHW PC release window.

Most of that should'be already been localised with the MH Generations release, though. The reason is more likely that they wanted to focus the message on MHW.

I wouldn't be surprised if its 3 months away because they only started localisation recently.

I doubt this was always coming. I expect the decision only came after their PR atrocity last summer. Switch continuing to do incredibly well, Capcom's scraps on it all outperforming targets and MHW beasting beyond expectations (and thus raising the franchise profile) probably sealed the deal.

Yup. August is also a safe couple of months after E3 to see if that gives the Switch a sales boost and therefore a potential buyer boost for Cap com.

Though as it is this August and that's creeping up on MHW PC release I'm half expecting a further delay on that version of World and this is their preemptive move to try and balance that.
That or its a Capcpom move and they accidentally cannibalize some of their MHW PC sales

I loved MH World so much!

Will absolutely not be playing this. Reading up on the improvements World made, I absolutely don't want to play a version without the new quality of life changes.

Lol, no you won't. Capcom have said it's not coming until Autumn.
What are these QOL changes in World that makes traditional MH so unplayable all of a sudden?

Interested as I love MH and never played Generations but not sure if I can go back to the 3ds graphics and lose the QoL improvements. :(

Will keep an eye on this. Not sure how I feel about the different play styles and limit breaks either.

Sooo how many are eating crow? In a previous topic, everyone kept telling me that it'll never happen due to World being a thing, and how it would be a downgrade, and that Capcom wouldn't bother using resources to doing this because "the time has passed". I figured after marketing out World that this would eventually be out, and well, here we are now!

I'm eating crow. I'm still 100% on the fuck Capcom train though. But I was wrong and can accept that.

could you please stop misinforming so much, there's so many wrong stuff in your post

Because I forgot a S in month ? What a misinformation. Everyone know I'm following closely MHW since the debut (especially you, since you still seem frustrated because I was right in all of my predictions concerning the game, even the japanese numbers). Of course I know the PC release isn't scheduled for next month. Point the other wrongs you speak about, I'm interested.

The denial is strong. You should cope with the facts : Capcom handled MHW like master chief. You were one of the hardest naysayers back then, but you should let it go, because that's borderline bashing in bad faith.

About the PC version : Capcom know how to release big titles on PC since they've been one of the biggest publishers on Steam for years now. They're taking their time for reasons (double-dippers, cooking a decent port, let the PUBG hype on Steam deflate a little more since it's eating everything for some months, even solo games...), but it seems you know nothing about the PC market. You just want to bash Capcom in bad faith. Capcom does stupid choices, but not when it comes to MH franchise, it's an established fact by now.

I mean MHW is not selling well anymore anywhere and hasn't been for a while which can certainly be linked to poor post launch support and we know nothing about the PC version to be certain either way so... don't know why you're being so aggressive? What you're responding to sounds fair really, especially considering you completely ignored one of the 3 points that is most relevant to this thread.

Umm.....how can you said Cacpcom had handled MHW really well? Their continuous support had been bad which is why the leg of MHW had dried up seen from Cacpcom financial report there. It is literally one of the biggest mistake they are making right now which is not a good continuous support.

Although it'll be a bit weird graphically to go back to an older MH game, I'm absolutely in for this due to the content. World didn't have enough to keep my interest past the first month, and not having to listen to NPCs every 5 seconds will be a nice added bonus.

I was honestly considering either importing the Switch version or trying to get the english patch working on the 3DS, so I am happy to see this coming to the West legit.

World was great, and it is a fantastic foundation for the series going forward, but I felt a bit unsatisfied by the time I finished playing it because the roster was a little lacking. I am super pumped to be able to go back to old favorites like Zinogre and Brachydios. I didn't play much of the original Generations, so there'll be even more new stuff for me to enjoy here.

Great news! I loved MHG but I am mostly a solo player. Is there any added single player part or is it only multiplayer?

Erm, we just had a big event the other week with a new monster to positive reception.

Also the game shipped 8 million copies.

YAAAAAAAAAAASSSSS!!!!

I'm so happy, I don't know what to do right now! Even though many of us felt like this was coming and Capcom just wanted to promote MHW by having that occupy mindshare. Now this game will probably do even better because of it.
And we cna transfer our 3DS data. At least I won't have to start from the beginning again.
Even better! I did everything in single player and barely touched multiplayer. So now have G-rank singleplayer and normal and G-rank multiplayer to look forward to.

Separated zones, no slinger, separate armor for gunners, gathering is really slow and annoying(all gathering points takes about as long as carving) and range weapons control being awful are the biggest differences.

I think they weren't prepared for the level of success the game had. One new monster every two months or so is very slow for games on the same tier of success like From Honor, et. al.

I haven't kept up with the game since I don't want to pay for PS+ anymore or burn out before the PC version. But how exactly is the post launch support in World worse than ANY other MH game? I mean they are running real events and adding new monsters, on top of the usual event quests and collaboration stuff.

I was going to import this if Capcom didn't localize it by the end of this year. So happy they finally made it happening and so out of the blue too! "We have no plans for localization." Yeah right! Regardless, I'm glad they made it happen, portable Monster Hunter is something I've been craving for a while now.

They probably didn't had plans at the time. Which was a problem.

Niiice. I can practically sell Monster Hunter World now. MH on the go again will be a treat.

Still hoping that Capcom will release an original Switch MH down the line, maybe in around two-three years, that takes the Switch's additional power into consideration vs. porting over a 3DS game.

I mean......1 new monster for 4 months.......is example of slow support push there. It just feel they are not really that prepared there.

I am comparing its with other game with Season pass of course. On older 3DS era, the content is huge enough that extra content does not feel that important however World there is is thinnest MH in like a decade. There is some expectations that the drip feed content should come faster than just a single monster.

Two actually as Jho was released the month before. But yeah it's a real slow drip feed.

Jho is kinda cheating i feel? lol. I mean it is the same old iconic monsta there.

What are these QOL changes in World that makes traditional MH so unplayable all of a sudden?

- Scoutflies
- No loading between zones
- Fast travel
- Monster interference
- Slinger to attract Monsters
- Whetstone doesn't deteriorate
- Seperatly preview gear
- Wishlists for recipes
- Points of interests are saved
- Weak points are available
- Damage numbers
- Auto crafting

What even is the point, Capcom? A year ago when asked you gave that most generic bullshit answer ever which was "We currently do not have plans for ..." because you didn't want to "derail" the heavy marketing effort of World. And now when World's dust starts to settle you suddenly have a "plan" again? You have missed the boat and people have moved on. Now good luck with your pesky scheme.

Nice. I ended up importing a copy, but I'll happily buy it again to support Monster Hunter.
