I know they've been changing their lineup for the Champions League, and they've had injuries and stuff but they still haven't looked good.

Sounds like the Rooney to DCU deal is moving closer. I don't think it makes a ton of sense, but more power to them for finally spending some money on their team.
Seems like most of national soccer writers are shitting on the Rooney move, while most of the local people are saying DCU needs a reason for people to buy tickets and that's more important right now. Really seems like people are so idealistic and ignore the business aspects of transfers.

It means Geiger called an actually decent game and you lost, but it had to be Geigers fault. Not Guzan's. Not Tata's. Not the DP signings. It's the refs fault for not giving you what you wanted.
You actually mentioned the Panama game, but how do you equate the two games? These two games are nothing alike.
Panama and Mexico were going in and Geiger was doing his best "No, I'm the boss!" Routine and was just far out of his depths. God damn that was a shit game.

I can't even tell what you are mad about. No other fanbase on earth gets mad at refs for questionable decisions? Like disallowed goals that should have clearly counted? That's what the boos were for, that's why I posted what I did. Dude also has a bit of a rep. The Guzan call was the right one, you'll notice I said nothing about that. Instead, my repeated comments about being extremely sloppy with our marking, our passing, and putting our extreme hardship signing on the spot.
I'm not even mad we lost. So what? #1 and #2 clubs in the league right now. If I'm irritated at anything, it's the disallowed goal and Guzan not being available for the next game. Don't son me. Not when you know nothing about me.
I don't think it's idealism as much as the fact that the buzz around having a good team is much more sustainable than the buzz around one name. How many people are genuinely going to keep shelling out to see a past-it Rooney lug around the pitch after the first three games? If a season ticket, after the first season? There's a reason the league has gone away from ineffective big-name purchases. And "business aspects"-wise, even assuming his wages are heavily subsidized (or he agrees to a pay cut), the rumored transfer fee is a crazy overpay.
