I grabbed the latest DLC and started playing this again and there's something funny going on with the daily/online quests. I couldn't find Reda's quest yesterday or today, and every body I've found for a 'revenge' quest hasn't actually given me a quest.

I'm on PC btw.

Stupid question perhaps, but you checked your quest list to see if there aren't older unfinished Reda/revenge quests still there? Also, are you connected to the internet when you're playing AC:O? Sometimes you need to go through multiple interactions for him to bring up the quest. I had that happen just the other day.

I have the issue (on PC) that Reda quests aren't counting up for the challenge/achievement of doing 10 dailies. It's stuck at 8 for me.

Yep, I only had the time limited giant Sobek and Anubis fights in my list, along with the quest to start the DLC.

Yeah, I've read about this issue a few times when trying to resolve my own. Someone posted in the Ubi forums that travelling back and forth between different areas might help resolve it:
https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.p...from-Reda!?p=13314498&viewfull=1#post13314498

Maybe something about quitting the game in a DLC area that messes it up. See if closing the game in Siwa or something and then going to Reda's marker works (post #72).

So it just occurred to me that this is the first AC that allows us to switch between weapons mid combo. Such a huge improvement in input response compared to the past games.

See, in this gif it looks cool. Whenever I do it it's entirely by accident because I'm spamming dodge and my thumb slips off the left thumbstick. So I end up facing the wrong direction looking confused and then I get knocked down.

So I finally started the Curse of the Pharaohs properly. I'd gotten an hour or so into it, but I was mainly sightseeing. Today I played through the Nefertiti quest line. The afterlife stuff is completely bonkers; it's amazing. I like how the main game tries to play it basically straight most of the time (drug-addled snake fight notwithstanding), and then one of the DLCs goes absolutely bananas; "fuck it, giant-ass scorpions!" It's like Undead Redemption for RDR. And it's great.

Bought the 2 DLCs, if you buy them separately in the sale it ends up being around 45% cheaper than the season pass. If it ends up being half as good as The Witcher 3's DLC I'll be stoked.

Hmm, I was considering picking up Curse of the Pharaohs at some point, and I did notice the Season Pass wasn't worth it (buying the two DLCs together is still cheaper than the pass, and the season pass has no extra content worth the price). However I'm not seeing any of those on sale right now, did I miss it?

Should still be on sale. Both DLCs are 25% off if you buy them on their own. Only thing you miss out on is the cosmetic stuff in the season pass. Worked out as $33AUD Vs $60 for the full season pass.

Wondering what to do over the weekend, having recently finished a God of War playthrough, I found myself drawn back to this game. Again.

I've already done everything I wanted to do. My total playtime sits very near 120 hours. Yet instead of starting something new, I still have the urge to just go and roam around ancient Egypt for a while. Again.

Honestly, when all's said and done, Origins could well turn out to be my favourite game of this generation.

And I think it's probably the best looking game, on console, that I've seen this generation. On the 1X. I think it holds the crown, so far.

I booted the game up today on PS4 for the first time in a while and also couldn't get the daily quest. Never had issues before.

Started this game a couple days ago and as of right now I'm about 35 hours in. I have to say I am completely shocked by how good this game is. If I had played this last year it definitely would have gone head to head with Horizon as my favorite open world game of that year. For starters I adore the world. It's big, it's beautiful and there is so much to do and have fun with. I've been doing all the side quests in each province and I am amazed by the quantity of the side quests as well as their quality. There have been some boring ones here and there, but for the most part I've enjoyed the vast majority of them. Exploring areas for loot is very rewarding and I really enjoy the bandit camps. Along with the hunting the bandit camps remind me very much of Far Cry in the sense that you can approach them however you like and infiltrating them stealthily is very satisfying.

I'm also finding the combat just incredibly fun as well and I love the loot system in place for this game. There's always constant progression happening in terms of my character getting stronger. The game is constantly rewarding you with xp which I love and is constantly giving the player new loot.

In terms of story I'm not really sure how far in I am but I am finding the story very interesting.

100+ hours 94% game completion. Huge AC fan especially the Ezio days. It took a few hours for me to gel with this one just like Witcher 3 but now I am totally sad I uninstalled it (because of the backlog). I am 10 hours in to FC5 but keep itching to reinstall AC:O and visit more of the places I never discovered on the map (2 full areas I never even visited on the map). Superb job Origins Team!

Ha, this is me. I've played GoW, Nier, I'm even playing TW3 again, and while I love those games, I'm always thinking in the back of my mind "hey, wouldn't be amazing to return to Egypt just for one little while?

At this point the next AC has an incredibly hard task for me, and it is to make a world richer and more magical than Egypt... I don't think it will.

So I have a question. I played this game when it came out, finished it and had no problems with the game.

Well yesterday I bought the Season Pass installed the game again and now it randomly freezes and crashes. I have no idea what the problem could be. Is this a well known thing or something? I am always sending a crash report, but I doubt anything will come out of it :/.

Oh sorry, I am on PC.

I saw that many have problems with random freezes and then crashes after the 1.5.1 update or after the new Nvidia drivers. Like I said, I finished the core game in November and had no crash and now I have them after 5 to 10 minutes of play. That really sucks.

I am so under level for these boss fights in the 2nd DLC. This dude is Lvl 52 and I'm almost at 48...

Gonna need some XP pronto.

Saw this in my recommended and decided to watch it for whatever reason and I liked it, so I thought I'd share mainly for those who might venture in here wondering if they should get the game or not, this is a pretty decent little non review. I agree with a lot of what he says.

I gotta do a NG+ run soon.

I'm wrapping up the Discovery Tour and it completely exceeds my expectations. It isn't as much an educational tool as it is a celebration of the work done putting this game together, and a small glimpse at how the work of so many egyptologists has helped piece together so much about this ridiculously amazing culture... even if there's just as much that we probably will never know.

-edit-

God damn it Ubisoft! From the "Building Ancient Egypt" tour, Station 8:

Every mine and quarry of ancient Egypt included a scorpion charmer, who was said to use magical powers to ward off the dangerous insects and keep the workers safe.

Arachnids are not insects, guys.

Is the season pass worth it? Just finished the main story and I'd like to play more. I only care for the actual expansions, are there going to be more beyond the two there now or should I just buy them both individually?

I just hope the leaks about it being a continuation of Origins are true. I need more Bayek.

Well the "leaks" say it takes place 100 years after the events in Origins. Personally, I don't see why it couldn't be a straight continuation where current Bayek has to travel to Rome and Greece. Maybe even give the gamer the option to choose either Bayek or Aya as the lead protagonist for the adventure.

I want more Bayek too.

And Spartacus is in my type 5 of all time TV series...so I drool at the thought of controlling him in that setting.

Thought I'll post here since the PC performance thread hasn't been active since 30th of March. Is HDR on PC still working for anyone? Was working before but started the expansion today and colours look all wonky on my x900e.

Can someone answer a specific question about HUD options in the console versions?

I'm a 'as little HUD as possible' guy when it comes to games, I find it immersive. Does ACO have extensive HUD options on PS4 and Xbox?

Can I turn off quest markers, enemy health bars, notifications etc?

Bonus question: Xbox 1X or PS4 Pro? Frame rate is king for me

Thanks!

Windows HDR and WCG is on (with the Spring Update). Nvidia 397.64 drivers.

In Game Max Luminance 1000, Paper White 300
Thanks dude, had the same settings as you before but now everything is just washed out. HDR still works on NNK2 and FC5 so not too sure what's happening here, gonna have to do a reinstallation.

So yesterday I did a green quest thingy on the map, solving some sort of puzzle with a sundial.

Then some weird character appeared with a dragon thing flying around beaming him up. WTF was that? And what is this Sword/Shield combo. And why do I have a Horsebird as a mount, now? I guess it's some sort of cooperation with a game I didn't play? :D

Yep, it's a Final Fantasy tie-in quest.

I just bought AC: Origins for the PS4, is there any DLC that you would recommend as a must play? I doubt the Season Pass is worth it for me (not for 30-40€). DLC is currently discounted on the PS Store.

One question. Can you get Carbon Crystals also in the Curse of the Pharaoh DLC? I know there is a new resource to upgrade your stuff, so I don't know if the Crystals still drop there. I liked the Hidden Ones because you got always 3 as a drop and I don't know if I want to farm them in the core game.

Where are you seeing that? Is that an EU thing? Because it's still showing full price in the US store.

It's kind of pissing me off, actually, since I just finished the main story last night, and they have all the DLC at half price on PC.
Yes there is a DLC sale going on in the EU store right now. Many season passes are discounted too.

Have a controls question- I'm using RB/RT for fighting but using RT outside of combat (like swimming upward for example) results in triggering a heavy attack before the swimming or climbing animation will kick in. Is there any way to avoid that? It's driving me batty.

Uh.. swimming upwards isn't on RT? It's X/A, isn't it?
