More people than would pay to see Kaku, Barco, or Diego Rossi, they all are better options in the long term, but DC has been a money sink hole for years, they finally get a stadium and need something to help fill it.
I guess the Batotelli deal didn't go through because that would have been better in every way.

The question isn't just whether people would rather see Rooney than Rossi, it's whether people would rather see a winning team with Rossi (and the other young players you can buy with the 10m extra you saved) or a losing team with Rooney. The novelty effect wears off quickly.

A lot of Atlanta's spending is in transfer fees, which isn't reflected here.

yeaaah alright

we still suck and we're still spending an ABSURD amount of money on useless players it's really baffling. Impact fans are kinda pissed after seeing that today

for added context : our owner basically blamed the fans for not showing up a couple of years ago, saying he wasn't really making money with that team... I mean damn if that's how you spend your money no shit

Just as an FYI to those of you who sometimes travel to support your side as Cincy will probably end up in MLS: They dead serious set aside *50* total tickets for Detroit City FC media/front office/player families AND supporters, after they chose to have this Open Cup match in a stadium that holds a fraction of what their normal one does - or even what *ours* does (we can do ~7.5k without running afoul of the fire marshal. For reference they're playing this at a normally 1,500 capacity stadium upped to ~2250 - we had around 3,500 for our Open Cup match on Wednesday night, with rain and thunderstorms looming.

Of course they made this decision before even knowing who the opponent was, but it's unconscionable to only hold *50 total* for everyone regardless IMO, especially when you can hold them conditionally - if you set aside 100 and we don't buy them all, flip them to your folks after like a day.

It's absurd because I already have time off work to drive down there and I'm either going to be one of a lucky 14 people who get to buy tickets (2 per supporter that win the lottery - 28 total are available) or I'm going to have to stubhub it.... or I'm going to have to watch from a parking garage roof. Which is honestly looking like the best option at this point.

I need this. Even if it is only ever going to be an approximation. We could lose every single game from here on out, but if we could somehow, someway get Iniesta we still would win the League.

Iniesta would have me a bit afraid of the Fire again.

That game was wild. Waston saves us again, and Brek Shea...uh...

If he was in the position to he should have just redirected the ball or taken it first time. I can't tell if he could from here, but that touch was way too heavy from the look of it.

Basically he could just run through the ball and scored that. Like he didn't really have to set his feet or taken a touch, just guide it, followthrough.

Friendly reminder that Brek Shea is one of our 2 DPs, and the second highest paid player on the team. And he's on 745k. More than Dax McCarty, Kaku, Johnny Russell, Joao Plata, Daniel Royer, Laurent Ciman, Lucho Acosta, Alberth Elis, and Christian Ramirez.

This is the state of the Whitecaps.

When was the last time you've seen Toyota Stadium this full?

I dig the way it turned out.

Also, this crowd turn out is at least 50% due to Zlatan if not more, but still really cool to see the hall in it's finished form.

No way Zlatan sticks around another season with the Glaxy if they keep scrubbin' it. Need a whole new team and coach.

I think a new coach and some better CBs could save this Galaxy team. They can almost run a 3-5-2.

EDIT: Maybe wingers instead of CBs. Or in addition to.

EDIT2: What I'm saying is that someone not named Sigi could get this team working after the summer window.

If there's no gif of this in the next few hours, I'm going to have to make it myself. Yeah, it's the frustration from hitting the post on the free kick to even it up, but i will be able to find many hilarious uses for it.

Aketke has got to be one of the worst offseason signings in the league

Apart from 30 minutes against Colorado in his debut, he's been atrocious

Can't wait to see how RBNY supporters roast Howard. Apparently they saved the hottest fire for him.
