Davis' story should be a Slingshot style webisodes.

I wouldn't mind, but at the same time they should show him more before actually going through with something like that. Cuz we already liked Yo-Yo by the time she got hers lol

Ironically I just ordered seasons one and two on Blu-Ray just a few hours ago. A blind buy for me. :P

Kind of miss it at times. Or at least, I miss Peggy.

Why do people have to "work" on a whether a show is getting canceled or not? Like negotiations?

In many cases the company that makes the show and the company that airs the show are not the same, so they negotiate on whether or not to bring it back. In the case of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. it's slightly more complicated since the companies that own it and air it are the same, but there's a wrinkle in the form of Marvel/Disney wanting the show on the air regardless of its ratings while ABC wants it gone. So different factions within Disney are debating the show's future.

Yup this 100%. Marvel/Disney still want it alive in some form. Disney stepped in and got us Season 5, this time it feels like an even tougher fight.

I know Davis was a minor character in season 4 and he's had more screen time in the second half of season 5. And I saw him with the cast in a picture on Instagram and thought to myself, "What was his first episode in season 4?" So I looked up the character on the AoS Wikipedia...

Oh, right. Season 1.

... Wait, what?

Yes, Davis had an incredibly minor background appearance in season 1's weird ghost episode. A single scene.

latest

They then decided to bring him the actor back in season 4. I never realized this at all.

Wait, the Disney Streaming Service won't be online until late 2019? Why so late? By that time I'll probably slip back into my old just-pirate-everything habit, especially if Shield is no longer a go on ABC or Hulu.

They're launching it with a live action Star Wars TV series, a Marvel series, and multiple exclusive live-action Disney movies (like the live action Lady and the Tramp). That stuff takes time.

Regardless of all that possible new stuff; they have a huge backlog of programing right now with new "original" programing on Hulu and OTA. I was expecting early 2019. :/

From a marketing standpoint, it's better to launch with a bang using a ton of original content rather than a whimper and hope people join up 10 months later when original content starts releasing.

Yup. Disney paid attention to CBS All Access. They launched with nothing, and got no one. It wasn't until Star Trek that people started to pay attention to it.

Just go full meta, cancel it between the two movies, bring it back after.

They mostly all are these days, even the ones you hoped would be above it. Competitive market though so they mostly resort to the same dirty tactics. It's when they disable comments (a la Screenrant) that you know even the people writing for them know it.

Sites like ScreenRant and CBR and ComicBook.com exist for the sole purpose of clickbait. Dishonest headlines, top 15 lists stretched throughout 20 pages, etc.

Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Deadline, etc. still are legitimate, for the most part.

It's what happens when you sell your site to a big company or investment firm. They only care about ad impressions and won't even pay the writers of the site unless it gets a certain amount of traffic. I speak from experience here. Never again.

It's been awhile, but I recall really liking the 2nd season's antagonist.

Fans of the series seem to be split over which season they liked more. I personally thought the second season was better because the villain was great and the chemistry between the characters improved a lot. Peggy and Jarvis were a joy together. It was also more "comic book-y" than the first, diving into weird science and fantasy.

It's a crime that we didn't get one more season.

I hope next week's finale at least has a satisfying, conclusive ending, since it seems like the show is dead.
