Generally you only want to wear raid gloves and class item anyway. Maybe boots if you are on add clearing duty with something like a GLance or Lens.

Damn, some negativity from Huber regarding Warmind in the new Frame Trap episode at Easy Allies.
Mad respect for Huber but when it comes to Destiny very few main stream media folks know what they are talking about.

Second completion:

a92KXVgh.jpg

Got the second emblem variant from Val Ca'uor. Already have the fusion and sidearm as well.

There are two hidden chests, one gives you an armor drop.

They need to hire new designers. That looks like dude has a metallic mushroom on his head.

When were strikes ever a viable progression path? At best they were a way to mildly grind up after you just got out of the campaign......but they were never really going to take you very far. The Vanguard vendor gear in Destiny 1 largely made them irrelevant as way to bridge the gap from Level Cap to Raid-Ready.
Sorry, I don't mean to say that they would take you directly to the light level cap. My memory might be a little foggy pre-Rise of Iron, but I liked that you could still get legendary engrams that didn't have as low of a soft cap as Warmind offers. They were the backbone of the majority of my playtime from Destiny 1 launch and on, even if they weren't efficient at quickly getting you to a raid ready level. Being able to to get a group together to raid, or even do a Nightfall run, was a pretty infrequent occurrence, so having these concise dungeon runs with matchmaking that could take me somewhere past a campaign was a part of why I stuck with this series. I would say they don't feel worth doing right now, though.

Who's idea was it to have Tess's beacon blink if you have a Prismatic Facet in your inventory? What if I don't like this week's offerings and want to save them? I have to deal with this fucking blinking all week? Who in their right mind thought we needed a marker every time we have a Facet?

After dealing with the blinking Ikora glitch for nearly all of season 2, having it basically come back in an official form sure is irritating.

I assume that's why she's blinking anyway and that I'm not just experiencing a weird glitch.

Got the Sleeper Stimulant earlier today. As someone who never played Rise of Iron, this thing was worth all of the work. Shit is basically a Spartan Laser. Quite fun. Solo'd the nightfall and it bumped me past the 350 mark today so progress is finally starting to kick into gear.

I've had the shittiest luck with exotics though since the DLC released. Have gotten nothing but all three of the exotic grenade launchers. Like, what the fuck.

Gotta say, it always feels like when I am trying to progress towards something, everything goes smoothly until the very last hurdle. I breeze through four heroic strikes, but then getting a fifth one done becomes a bitch for whatever reason. I kick ass in two escalation levels but finally completing a third took forever today because I had to rely on so many idiots. Hell, looking for all of the data fragments, I follow the guides to the letter and end up still end up with 43/45 (my inquisitive self was able to deduct which ones they were). This phenomenon has been going on in Destiny since forever. Either that, or I am falling victim to the availability heuristic. BUT I AM NOT BECAUSE THIS SHIT HAPPENS.

Im going back through & doing the Osiris campaign on my alts, the reward I got after the first mission was somewhat scaled..

0h4WEsI.jpg

I was 350 when it dropped so they may not scale too high, but might help nonetheless.

EDIT - did this again on another character @ 352 & the same 353 engram dropped. It's probably, somehow?, maxed at 353.

Now if I could get a high level HC to drop to infuse into it.

I've been in the same position with a shotgun for going on 2 days now.

I hate the way light levels work in this game now. It sucks having weapons you don't like at the highest light level and having to use those instead of weapons you do like. I think they should remove light levels all together from weapons and make it just an armor thing. Then all weapons could just scale with your armor light level. I also miss that cool book from ROI, wonder they got rid of that. It was a great idea.

Or make it like D1 and let you infuse across slot instead of like to like. All the higher light lvls weapons I have are stuff I don't want to use as well. At least drops pull from all your equipment so you can just store that shit in bank and you will still get higher lvl drops, well not from game play...

Jumped into the Crucible for the first time in a few months and.....wow. Just when you think PvP couldn't possibly get any worse they somehow accomplished it. Matches can be boiled down to 'who has heavy ammo?'. It was better in D1 when heavy ammo could be obtained by everyone and was something that happened only once or twice a match.

Final Raid Lair Boss Spoilers!

Here's the recording of my Spire of Stars completion from yesterday.

I had to trim it in a hurry because we immediately did another run. Skip to around 2:20 for the ACTUAL beginning.

One day i hope they have some raid content for 2 players. Me and my dad have played through all of Destiny 1 and 2 expansions, but not a single raid due to the 6 person requirements and the fact my dad isnt great at the game.

Oh man am I glad I didn't do all the Prophecy Verses. The weapons drop at your PL. Nice to get some more gains over and above the milestones.

The lair armor is supposed to look alien. Each of the class armor (hunter, Titan, warlock) for the lair is modeled after a different one of Calus' shadows, alien assassins he picked up from various worlds on the way back from the deep.

IMO they definitely succeeded in making it look "alien" which I guess has the side effect of making it look pretty ugly to a lot of people!

Yea. This is annoying. Same. I want to save my facets and I keep running up to Tess whenever I get to the tower thinking she has something for me. Hopefully they fix this , I'm not sure what the best way is because you can only stack 3 facets before you start losing them and so they should notify people somehow reminding them to use it once you get to cap.

Not sure if you know but you don't need to wear your highest level gear. Just toss the high level items you don't like in the vault and they'll still contribute toward your next Powerful engrams being stronger even without wearing it, unlike the D1Y2 or Y3 systems.

Doesn't help you when you're doing heroic strikes etc I believe it only calculates what you're currently wearing.

My guess is it's a psychological thing to get people to spend. Either money or the currency, they probably don't want people sitting on it.

He's definitely one of the ones who knows what he's talking about though. It takes a lot for him to be negative about something and despite Warmind making nice steps forward, it's still very understandable.

As for people who complain a lot but don't know what they're talking about...

Nope.

Nope what? Nope it doesn't calculate LL based on what you're wearing when you fight an enemy or nope it does? I'm 354, but that's only by equipping guns I have zero interest in using. I equip them when I join an heroic strike but if I dont have to, I won't.

i wish i could do the raid. seems like i'm missing out on a lot of the game because of it.

It can definitely be a lot of fun. And also frustrating. It appears to be necessary to leveling up in Warmind though. I was stuck at 347 last night before doing Leviathan, and after doing it I was 354.

Oh wow very cool!

You hit 370 before doing this right?

Oh yes. Don't bother doing this unless you are 370. Val Ca'uor fires missles that track and kill you in one hit. Enemies have a lot of health too.

This is by far the most difficult and mechanic focused bosses in all of Destiny. Its basically Oryx and Aksis combined. Empowerments, auras, bombs, plates. All kinds of shit. A multitude of phases before you even begin to do damage. It's nuts. Bungie went all out on this to deliver an actual challenge. Props to them. They did a great job.

LFG? As in a pick up group of randoms? Not a chance. Better get lucky and pray you get someone who's beaten it or at least knows how to get to damage phase.

If anyone still insists on matchmaking for raids at this point, they are utterly clueless or just trolling. Whatever infinitesimal amount of credibility those people had (which they honestly didn't) is now absolutely zero. In the near 48 hours since the raid opened on Friday, I've spent 27 hours of my life playing it, and still, only have two completions to my name. Don't believe me? Check my raid report:

https://raid.report/ps/PXG_S3

This raid is no joke, to say the least. Fun and satisfying as hell. But this shit is seriously no joke.

I think I'll skip this raid. I don't need those stresses in my life, not fun to me.

All drops you get in Destiny 2 are based on the highest possible LL throughout all three characters on your account as well as any items in the Vault.

Yeah I get that, but I'm talking about the damage I do against enemies and also how the game pairs me up with other players for activities like heroic strikes. I think it's using my equipped light level for both of those.

decided to get my money's worth since i had already paid for it, and started playing this the other day. don't really care much for the expansion, everything was pretty meh for me, and the best things are the QoL improvements they made/are making. At a snail's pace but it seems they are trying to course correct.

activities that rely on instance matchmaking are just so weird in this franchise. much like court of oryx, escalation protocol is losing my attention quick because i never have any luck with having players around, and patrol only allows for 3 players still.

i saw a thread on Destiny's reddit that apparently bungie intended escalation protocol to be done by 9 players, but i have never seen that many players in one instance at the same time. hell, i've been trying to do escalation protocol to get the Sleeper but the most players I've seen is 4. so essentially, because the option for fireteams of 6 in patrol doesn't exist, i'm left to hope there are players around doing it/want to do it.

the heroic strikes situation is just comical. 340 loot? lmao

crucible is just heavy ammo spam, why did they think that was a good idea? that said, the weapon buffs have made it better in some aspects though.

Bungie needs to fix how the game populates patrols, or allow up to two six man fireteams in an area
