Season 4 was weaker then 1-3 for me though had a few good moments. Have not watched season 5 though. Realistically I find The Blacklist to be a good binge popcorn show that I dust off on occasion. The budget gets a lot lower after season 3 as well.

For quite some time I felt like network tv was on it's way out but after this week I really think I am 100% done with giving new shows on network tv a chance (except the CW which renewed nearly everything). There was a handful of network tv shows I love including stuff like Gotham and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Exorcist, Lucifer, X-Files, etc and I'm not sure if any of them will be returning at all at this point. I stopped supporting SyFy years ago because of them constantly killing shows prematurely and I never looked back and from the looks of it, they still do the same thing yearly.

Personally I think it's time that I look into Netflix, Hulu, etc. Surprisingly I was the one human being left without a Netflix account. lol anyways is anyone else "done" with network tv shows after this week?

AP Bio is fun, but I'm surprised it didn't get canceled because it's definitely "dark" for a comedy on a channel like NBC.

And Champions is funny as fuck. Definitely scratching my 30 Rock itch.

Still counts as cancelling them. If a network wants a show to continue, it'll continue, regardless of how long it's been on.

If you lost all the lead actors at the same time and the producers, at one point you might have to accept the show is dead as a channel.

Skinny Dip, Playing Dead, The End of the World as We Know It & Dead Inside - Pilots Passed by The CW:

https://www.spoilertv.com/2018/05/skinny-dip-playing-dead-end-of-world-as.html

Two of these things should be movies. And none of them TV shows.

But isn't Pedowitz a big fan of Supernatural? He has said more than once that the show will keep going as long as 'the boys' want to keep doing so? I would figure that would count for something on a spin-off.

Either way, it's depressing. Even if there is another spin-off tried, just have a feeling it probably won't be as strong as Wayward Sisters. And our luck is it would get greenlit.

He might like supernatural but not Wayward Sisters.

Yup I am still completely surprised by Wayward Sisters being passed on. Only thing I can think of is this:

-CW feels they have to many new female lead shows this year.
-Charmed is a very popular and still much talked about franchise even after all these years. Roswell seems fairly popular as well.
-CW has a partnership with Julie Plec giving her higher priority for new pilots then a Supernatural spinoff.
-CW is dumb. lol

I choose the last option. ;p There must have been additional factors that resulted in that decision (like for example we don't know the details of their deal with Netflix), they will have two extra Sunday slots next fall and besides they already gave some pity renewals to their poorly performing shows (including Dynasty which will be displaying record low ratings next season).

Dynasty is the highest performing CBS show that isn't ending next year. It is also earning a lot at Netflix. It is actually a very sound business decision to renew that one. That it scores terribly in Nielsen ratings doesn't matter.

Yeah I keep forgeting that Nielsen's ratings for some shows (maybe most?) don't matter anymore. ;)

I don't know how they're going to stretch out Blacklist's story any more but it's always fun watch James Spader do Spader things on screen. Hopefully they find plot ideas to keep the show interesting otherwise.

Every network show you list had a multi-season run. I mean, I don't watch a lot of network shows (that aren't on CW) but I'm not getting all the outrage from people that things that have been underperforming for years are finally getting axed.

Well, at least I know Monday afternoon is a pretty strict deadline for knowing about Gotham's fate.

NBC's schedule was accidentally posted by Tv By The Numbers and quickly deleted. Embargo likely lifts in a couple of minutes from now.

No B99 for the fall? Guess it'll be a mid season replacement after The Good Place ends.

Interesting that NBC is going to face off against Big Bang Theory night with their comedies.

At least I think that's a new night for them. I'm not that versed in the current schedule.

ManaByte reporting that he's heard grim reports about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s fate. Hope it's not true.

To be fair though, to back up the things he said he heard, he mentioned that Clark Gregg took "Coulson from AoS" off his Twitter bio and Chole Bennett removed her AoS header.

Turns out some random person said that to him on Twitter and he took it as fact. And it was false.

Bennett may have changed her header recently (which means nothing anyway) but her bio still states "Daisy from AoS" and Gregg's bio never said that at all. Heh.

From what I understand of ManaByte's situation, he is in contact with somebody who's been present at the weekend meetings concerning the show and they told him last night that those meetings took a rough turn yesterday. This is separate from the faulty intel he got elsewhere.

Yeah, I'm not doubting the info he said he has (well, not fully). But framing that info with something some random dude said to him on Twitter is a questionable decision.

And you thought a writer tweeting "season finale" instead of "series finale" meant they knew something. ;)

Any idea on what I Feel Bad is? I don't think that was one of the shows that was posted about in this thread so far. Or if it was can someone point me to the post?

I know you're joking around but I mentioned that I was hopeful because someone involved with the show itself made sure to let people know he meant to say "season" and not "series." It certainly means nothing in the end but it's something hopeful for fans to hang onto.

That's different than literally saying something that isn't true to back up the idea that the show is in trouble. :P

This article digs into it a little:

http://deadline.com/2018/05/abbys-i-feel-bad-comedies-picked-up-series-nbc-1202385693/

Written by Batra, the single-camera I Feel Bad, from Uni TV, Paper Kite Prods, CannyLads Prods and 3 Arts , stars Blue as Emet, the perfect mom, boss, wife, friend and daughter. OK, she's not perfect. In fact, she's just figuring it out like the rest of us. Sure, she feels bad when she has a sexy dream about someone other than her husband, or when she pretends not to know her kids when they misbehave in public, or when she uses her staff to help solve personal problems. But that's OK, right? Nobody can have it all and do it perfectly.

New Amsterdam? There was a New Amsterdam on Fox years ago about an immortal (or really slow aging) man. The main star was Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister from Game of Thrones). I remember there was this old bar tender, who as actually the main character's elderly son. Is NBC reviving this, too or is it just a show with the same name?

If only! It's a medical drama.

Considering reality or live shows are like half the schedule, why are they never talked about in regards to renewals and cancellations?

Many were already renewed, for example CBS

http://ew.com/tv/2018/04/18/cbs-renews-11-shows-criminal-minds-in-limbo/

Coming back for another year are Blue Bloods, Bull, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, MacGyver, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Survivor, The Amazing Race, 48 Hours, and 60 Minutes

or for some game shows, had got renewed through 2020 or so (wheel of fortune/jeopardy)

Just finally watched the (series) finale of Lethal Weapon. Kind of wish I didn't in a sense. May not be the series finale, but may as well be as it will never be the same. Great episode, like always, but very bittersweet knowing it was Clayne Crawford's last episode.

Also, angry at Damon Wayans. Not to say Crawford wasn't at fault, it was his behavior I believe that started the whole issue. But I also feel that Crawford did not back down from Wayans, and he didn't like being called out from Crawford in regards to the issues they were having on set. I just wish they could have come to an understanding and worked it out.

Such a shame, really a great show, but I really do hope they cancel it. To try and continue Lethal Weapon with the shell it was (without Crawford) is not worth it. Not worth it to the fans of the show, not worth if the the fans of Gotham. This is a show that everyone is willing to work hard at making successful.
