Welp, I'm out. I've liked Sean William Scott in what I've seen him in, but he's no Clayne Crawford.

The worst possible outcome has happened. Not only have we lost Clayne Crawford, but Fox has tried to continue the show as well with another co-lead. They should have just canceled it. And on top of it, another show may suffer because of this fiasco.

Fuck Fox, and fuck whomever was responsible in pushing out Crawford when he was willing to apologize and work out the issue on his side.

I hope the show fails horribly next season. So pissed right now.

You know us coastal elites, we only join in on the bandwagon during playoffs and we don't watch live tv anymore.

Gotta go after the American heartland. They just don't like much that isn't white or Christian though.

I like Gotham but the same villain can only escape so many times before you turn it off.

How many seasons have revolved around a villain holding the mayor hostage as a distraction while they unleash a bomb or poison gas elsewhere

Season 4 is widely considered is the best in the series and one of the best seasons of any live action comic show.

It is a good show, a great one actually.
Who made that judgment? I mean I don't think there's been a truly outstanding comic book show yet (unfortunately), but Season 1 of Daredevil, The Punisher, and The Flash are all pretty strong.

Sean William Scott to be the new lead? Holy fuck I have to see this. May actually start up Lethal Weapon now lol.

Still need my Gotham renewed though, Fox please.

And Agents of Shield. Especially this one.

All of Agents of Shield, Gotham, The Flash S1, Daredevil, The Punisher, Jessica Jones, Legion etc are awesome comic book shows. We don't have to beat them up figuring out which is the better one.

Also Sean is good actor, don't put him off just because of the fucking American Pie movies, those are garbage.

Season 4 of AoS was good because they basically made it 3 mini-seasons instead of trying to stretch one story over 22 episodes. That said I'm going to continue to be perplexed at how highly people here rate it, and prop up the entire show due to that one season.

I mean I sort of get it, comic book shows get extra points here because they're comic book shows... I guess, but I'm still just never going to understand it.

I wish Lethan Weapon would just refer to the new character as Riggs with no explanation.

Although this feels full circle from all those straight to dvd American Pie sequels where the main character is Stifler's cousin or some shit

RE: Sean William Scott, I think he's a way more interesting choice than Clayne Crawford ever was.

Well... yea? Like, not sure why you're implying that takes away from it, a great season is a great season. Even if one wanted to go there, they were all tied to one another anyways.

It's not that it's a comic book show. Not for me. I'm a casual fan of the MCU but I'm not too hot on the superhero genre at-large. I just love these characters and their chemistry. SHIELD pulls me in because I care about their surrogate family.

You're reading into it in a way I didn't intend. I am just saying that yes AoS season 4 was good, and that is why it was good. The rest of the show was not like that though, and much worse. Especially season 1 which was pretty terrible up until The Winter Soldier happened. And even the highs of season 4 really do not reach greatness or "the best show on television" or whatever that some people here equate it to.

Agents of Shield is simply not a show in the same league as stuff like The Sopranos, The Wire, Band of Brothers, Boardwalk Empire, Deadwood... I mean basically the entire HBO catalog lol, plus The Shield, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Justified, Fargo, etc found on Basic Cable. Or if you don't care about drama with minimal action, it's not in the league of Black Sails, Strike Back, Spartacus, or Banshee either.

Even just compared to another NETWORK show, stuff like Alias did just about everything it's doing, way better, 15 years earlier.

"This thing is only good because of the good things about it".

I never said "only". I'm sorry it's being read that way, though I understand why since I'm more negative on the show than some others here. But I am far from the only person calling this series out. I enjoyed season 4.

I get liking the characters. Most of them are pretty likable.

The Gotham vs. AoS fan thing is weird.

If anything, both fanbases should be sticking together and supporting each other. Both series started off very shaky, to the point where some people still refuse to give the show a chance due to the individual first seasons. And both shows improved a lot and became respectable shows. And now both are on the bubble and could be cancelled.

I say this as someone who hasn't watched Gotham yet. It's clear that the consensus on that show changed after the first season, just as it did for AoS, which is fantastic.

There's no reason for fans of either Gotham or AoS to take shots at the other.

Sean William Scott isn't really known for drama stuff. I wonder how this will go.
It sounds like they are gonna kill Crawford's character off if going by what happened in the season two finale.

One of my favorite things is "Comedy actors" delivering great dramatic performances. I feel like they all manage to kill it at some point in their career.

If this is directed at me I just want to say I don't particularly care for Gotham either.

I hope both shows get renewed though since they obviously have a lot of fans.

Tidbits from NBC's upfront

NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt on Sunday did little to dispel the growing speculation that The Office reboot is coming together at the network. During NBC's upfront call, he declined to answer a question about the status of the project beyond noting that the network will make an announcement when there is something to announce.

"These are all tough calls," NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt said about the decision [to pass on Bad Boy's spin-off LA's Finest]. during the network's upfront call on Sunday "We did have an embarrassment of riches. And when we laid out the schedule and the calendar all season… it was a show that didn't fit in the grand scheme of it."

At NBC's upfront call this morning, NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt was asked about the prospects of Timeless as well as midseason comedy Champions, which also has its renewal decision pending.

"We try to honor the producers, let shows run and see what they do before making a decision that is premature," Greenblatt said, noting that Timeless' finale is tonight and that Champions has a couple of more original episodes to air.

"We are hopeful and yet realistic as we have a lot of shows," Greenblatt cautioned. "We are going to take a look at the shows after their run and hopefully make a quick decision on them."

He later stressed that no decision has been made on Timeless.

NBC has also taken steps to shore up what had been weak spots on the schedule in January and February when "The Voice" was between seasons by expanding two of its strongest reality franchises, "America's Got Talent" and "World of Dance," with winter editions.

I mean if he was a shit then he has to go. Going by some articles he was already given a few chances and he still fucked up.

Fuck, accidentally deleted my post lol, that's a shame.

Yea, you're the only one saying any of that in here... People just think it's a good/great show.

The Gotham vs. AoS fan thing is weird.

Eh, people defend/bash shows all the time. Don't see how it's suddenly a tribalism/"Marvel vs. DC" thing, you can do the same thing within the Marvel Netflix shows, Legion, the Beeboverse, etc. Hell, you should know. Now that said, yea, technically not the time or place (Emphasis on technically since I've seen several posts taking shots at other shows), we just wanna see what gets renewed, but it's certainly not some deep-seated rivalry lol

Fandoms gotta stick together.

Only if I get to keep my lemons :P

Over at spoiler tv I am hearing that Gotham is being considered for a 13 episode final season. Someone in the comments posted it but can't verify it's accuracy. Two other shows are also being considered though.

This would be perfect. Every 22 episode show should be 13 or less anyway.

Let's see:

Manifest - I feel like there is at least one of these "mystery" shows each yeah... and every single one of them is a failure and gets canceled.
New Amsterdam - Got to get that Good Doctor fat money.
I Feel Bad - Generic comedy 24803905789236
The networks are all trying to make their own Lost I think. ABC has also tried with The Crossing (which ironically Lost was on their channel), all of the previews were cryptic and just said "FROM THE NETWORK THAT BROUGHT YOU LOST" and they were banking on that being the key selling point alone.
