Oh, wrong game.

And it wasn't.

That dirty south rivalry sure is something else.

What soccer league do these new LAFC Atlanta NYCFC teams play in because I'm pretty sure it's not the same one as my Earthquakes

Is Bobby Warshaw some kind of joke character? If so he stopped being funny after the first week...

Big Question: How do you fix the LA Galaxy?

Calen Carr: "Ola Kamara playing as a left winger doesn't make any sense in the world that I know, he needs to be closer to goal."
Bobby Warshaw: "Bench Zlatan!"
Should read his NYCFC thing from last week. You'd think he's never seen RBNY play in his life the way he wrote about that game. He's just not greatat his job. He picks a team or player to unconditionally support and goes from there, from what I can tell.

Anyway, I'm glad the Wario/Waluigi derby was fun.

Braves on top in the NL, Five Stripes on top in MLS.

This could all collapse tomorrow, but I'm going to enjoy it today.

RBNY vs ATL this weekend, gonna be the clash of the titans.

Here's hoping it's a good one (and that we see the same sort of results we saw last year :D)

Overall I can't argue with Doyle's "tiers" too much....

Armchair Analyst: All 23 MLS teams ranked by tier – revisited

TIER I: THE ALPHAS
Atlanta United
New York Red Bulls
LAFC
New York City FC
Sporting KC

TIER II: STOP IT, THEY'RE FINE
Toronto FC

TIER III: GETTING THERE
Columbus Crew SC
Orlando City SC
FC Dallas

TIER IV: PROMISING BUT FLAWED
New England Revolution
Houston Dynamo
Portland Timbers
Chicago Fire

TIER V: THEY MIGHT BE BROKEN
Seattle Sounders
Real Salt Lake
LA Galaxy
Vancouver Whitecaps

TIER VI: TRUST THE PROCESS
Philadelphia Union

TIER VII: OOOF
Minnesota United
Colorado Rapids
San Jose Earthquakes
Montreal Impact
D.C. United

I'd move Toronto (not because they don't have the talent, but because 30% of the season is over and they have a 0.78 PPG when the 6th seed has a 1.7 PPG), Chicago, and Philly down a tier (that would also eliminate two tiers)...

Unsure, but I get the feeling if a high profile player wants to go somewhere, especially a big market, they'll get accommodated; they'll do money magic with TAM/GAM trickery.
If not for his age I'd say he'd make a decent fit for RBNY, though if he's got enough of an engine age won't matter.

Honda sucks, at Milan it was like he was running underwater. Soooooo slow.

He was outstanding at Pachuca though. I'd kill to have him here, not just because he's a good player. He'd be huge when it comes to boosting attendance as a big name player, and Vancouver's got a sizeable Japanese community

But knowing the Caps we'll probably get some random South American on a 250k salary and fall further down the hole of mediocrity

Since the premier league is over I guess I might pop in here more. What teams do y'all support here anyways?

I live in Canada at the moment by the way. How are those teams doing? Lol

Pretty cool for a Division 5 club.

Here's a list: https://www.resetera.com/threads/american-soccer-ot-1-834-days.10674/#post-2024693

I begrudgingly support the Chicago Fire. They are not good.

I live in Canada at the moment by the way. How are those teams doing? Lol

TFC are champions, and went to the CCL final (but lost) and have had a ton on injuries. They focused entirely on the CCL and as a result of both are in second to last in the East, though they are likely to turn it around and it will be (hopefully) fun to watch. Montreal is a place above them. They are coached by Remi Garde, and are essentially trash. Thier 10 Nacho Piatti is probably the most exciting player to watch in spite of how inept the players around him are. Vancouver is in 5th place in the West, but are not a fun team to watch at all.

A glimpse into Vancouver:

Only Vancouver Whitecaps (my team, see the profile pic) are in a playoff spot, while Toronto FC and Montreal Impact are struggling and are out of the playoff picture as of right now. I think Toronto turns it around and gets into the playoffs, while Montreal won't. As for the Caps, if they bring can pull off a big signing of a top quality attacking midfielder, I think we'll be able to make that next step. We've got a decent squad with tons of depth (like there's 2 or 3 players competing to start in every position), and I think we'll comfortably make the playoffs, but we're missing that creative midfield difference maker (unless Peru international Yordy Reyna can find his form again) to make us a contender.

The best reason to watch Vancouver is 17 year old Canadian winger Alphonso Davies. He's the best player on our team, and seems destined for an illustrious career abroad. Best comparables to his game abroad are probably Ryan Sessegnon and Ousmane Dembele. He's got great two way play, and tracks back very well, but is also a weapon on the break and in 1v1 dribbling situations (his dribbling success % is the highest in all of MLS right now). Also Costa Rica international CB (and our captain) Kendall Waston is another great reason to watch the Whitecaps, as he's probably a top 3 CB in all of MLS and should be a regular starter for Costa Rica at the World Cup.

Caps ain't super fun to watch on the whole, but I do have to say that our counter attacking game is pretty fun, especially when Yordy Reyna is on his game.

And man, Brek Shea. Designated Player. $750,000. Beautiful use of money that. Fuck our cheapskate absentee ownership, our outdated and out of its depth FO staff, and our knob of a manager for enabling Shea to do stuff like that, and for not trying to escape our hellhole of mediocrity while we get left in the dust by the rest of MLS.

No problem. MLS is a really fun league to watch; it's not the best from a quality of play standpoint obviously (though it is drastically improving at a very fast rate), but from an entertainment standpoint it's awesome (high scoring, last minute winners, playoff series). And also having a team in the league where I've lived my whole life and thus being able to go to pro level soccer is great; I'd recommend trying to get to an MLS game sometime. Obviously depends where in Canada you live at the moment, but also there's our league coming along next year: the Canadian Premier League.

The CPL currently has announced Winnipeg, Hamilton, Calgary, York (Greater Toronto Area/suburbs), Port City (Surrey/Vancouver suburbs), and Halifax, with Ottawa, Edmonton, and Saskatchewan (Regina or Saskatoon) likely as well. (EDIT: also maybe Moncton and Victoria, though those are less likely)

Tons of pro footy happening in Canada in the near future, between MLS, CPL, and the Canadian Championship/Voyageurs Cup (basically our FA Cup and the way Canadian clubs qualify for CONCACAF Champions League, and will feature the 3 Canadian MLS teams, CPL teams, and semi pro clubs). Really exciting

Jesse is probably going to Salzburg sooner rather than later. Wonder who our new coach will be. Probably Armas or Woly.

RBNY is making a big announcement Friday, which we all assumed was Jesse to Salzburg, and now Pussetto is once again rumored to be coming to MLS. I don't even know what to believe anymore.

Edit: Pussetto Watch is at RED ALERT DEFCON 2

Happy to eek out a point, I guess, but the Quakes are in such a deep hole that they really need to win a loooooot of games.

Quote of the evening: "No matter which team you were supporting there was a Shea to disappoint you."
