I can live with that. Does get me thinking about what the Western version will be like.
Disney Afternoon Games, TMNT Games, Dragon Warrior, Castlevania 3, Earthbound Beginnings...
This is a cool concept, NOA could do something similar with a SNES Mini filled with Disney games or something like that.
Still sucks having to buy a new console to play different games, they should allow you to buy new games through the Internet.

That would be pretty good. I'm wanting a second one as I gave the first one to my kids. Makes me a little torn on it I want the initial games or all new ones.
How many of these games are even any good? I guess this opens the door for NES Classic and SNES Classic Vol. 2, though.
Dragon Quest is certainly the pick of the litter, and, well, there are many better ways to play the first Dragon Quest than the old Famicom version these days. The other games range from okay-if-you're-in-the-right-mood to Dragon Ball: Shenron no Nazo.
This is so fucking stupid. Are they just going to release new hardware sku's with a different set of games? What a waste.
Just give me an N64 Rareware console. I'd be good. :P

If anyone wants to see what the actual games look like, here's a good compilation video that was made for the Shonen Jump Famicom Mini.
Does anybody know how this will be handled for retail in japan? Will it be store or event exclusive or will it just be sold everywhere that the nes classic was for a short period of time?

The sole exceptions are Dragon Quest (Which should be obvious.) and Dragon Ball: Shenlong no Nazo (Was included in the Japanese version of Dragon Ball: Origins.)
A pretty big chunk of the games included have been already localized. Both of the already re-released games, (Though Shenlong no Nazo was rebranded into an original game called "Dragon Power", and Dragon Quest was initially called "Dragon Warrior".) Kinnikuman: Kinnikusei Oui Soudatsusen, (As Tag Team Match: MUSCLE.) Tenchi o Kurau, (As Destiny of an Emperor.) Captain Tsubasa, (Rebranded into an original game called "Tecmo Cup Soccer Game")
and finally, while the Hokuto no Ken games included weren't localized, the second game in the series was. I have no idea why they skipped it here.
As for Fan Translations... That's been covered fairly well too.

I wonder if this kind of thing could be extended to publishers... What if there was a Capcom only NES? or a Konami one?
They are heavily licensed to the point it's near impossible to get licensed for games, unless you're into Arcade game development.
I think only Sega, Konami, Koei, Bandai-Namco, Capcom, and Square Enix are the only licensed developers/publishers for Jump, and Sony and Nintendo are the main publishers for smaller magazine publications.
I am not claiming, I am just guessing, because the information around this is really hard for me to find. If anyone knows a better source, please let me know.
