Terrible aesthetics. Hopefully the game doesn't have that kind of attitude. You can make a "I'm having fun because I get to blow shit up" vibe without having people flipping the camera off.

Hell yeah, really liked Mad Max! Now we just have to wait tomorrow to know if it will be a TPS or a FPS, hope we will get both options.

Do you have a link for that or is it just your opinion?
I don't have a link, but if you watch gameplay.

The mutants crawl in from the windows and vents and attack you.
THey charge you and throw themselves towards you and stumble around when shot.

I noticed that the ghouls in fallout 4 do nearly the same if not identical animations and behave the same way when stagered/throwing themselves at you.

--------

My guess Rage 2 is a test bed for Bethesdas new game engine, similar to how rage 1 was a showcase of IDTECH 5

Seems like it's co-developed by id Software and Avalanche

From the german site https://bethesda.net/de/game/rage2:

"Stürzen Sie sich kopfüber in eine dystopische Welt ohne Struktur, Recht und Ordnung. Für RAGE 2 zeichnen zwei Studio-Giganten verantwortlich –Avalanche Studios, Herrscher über die wahnwitzigsten offenen Welten, und die Egoshooter-Götter id Software –, um ein Chaosfest sondergleichen abzuliefern. Gehen Sie, wohin Sie wollen. Schießen Sie, auf was Sie wollen. Jagen Sie alles in die Luft, was Sie auch nur schief anschaut."

"Jump headlong into a dystopian world without structure, law and order. Responsible for RAGE 2 are two studio giants - Avalanche Studios, rulers of the craziest open worlds, and the ego shooter gods id Software - to deliver a chaos festival beyond compare. Go wherever you want. Shoot what you want. Blow everything up,..."

I played RAGE for a bit around the time when it came out, but I never did finish it. Wanted to play it last year, have it on my Steam, but somehow the game never worked for me. Is it one of those "doesn't run on Windows 10 64 bit issues?", cause that would suck.

Anyway, I really liked the idea of the game and while it wasn't executed as well as people hoped, I still enjoyed what I played at the time. It's a shame I didn't get to finish it.

The tonal shift is fascinating and I wonder what caused that, maybe the success of Mad Max: Fury Road, or the underappreciated Mad Max game? Speaking of which, I finished it on PS4 again yesterday (thanks Plus!) and found myself wanting more Mad Max. Can't help but think what could be improved or added in a sequel. There's possibly no chance of ever getting a sequel, but it would be fun if you could romp around the wasteland in co-op, Far Cry 5 style. Perhaps alternating positions with one driving and one taking up the role of Chumbucket.

But let's see what RAGE 2 is going to be like and what kind of other changes we can expect in the gameplay, tomorrow.

I actually enjoyed this trailer quite a bit. Yeah, it's goofy as hell, but I'm OK with the Mad Max devs throwing Fury Road, Borderlands, and Far Cry in a blender and seeing what comes out. Never played the original so a major tonal shift doesn't bother me much.

Oh holy shit. ID for the shooting and avalanche for the driving stuff. This could be fucking awesome then!

I wonder if they got the job because of Mad Max, or if Mad Max 2 was in development, got cancelled, and turned into a Rage game.

Definitely PS4/XB/PC and maybe Switch later(?)
Also that "co-developed" feels like PR talk; Avalanche will definitely be doing the heavy lifting on this one.

Love the tone of the trailer, seems they aren't taking this seriously at all and just running and having fun with it. Smart move in terms of marketing on that front.

Never played the original but I'm very interested in picking up the sequel

Didn't need that trailer to get my hyped for this game. I really enjoyed the first one and can't wait to get my hands on that wingstick again! Looking forward to the trailer tomorrow.
