Looking at Fox's fall lineup, only shows I will be watching are The Gifted and Bob's Burgers maybe, will check out Rel as well. He was really funny on The Carmichael Show.

The FOX & FX Upfront is next in about 2 hours.

After that there's nothing until the ABC & Freeform Upfront tomorrow morning.

If Altered Carbon wasn't going to be renewed then I expect we would have heard by now.

I suspect the delay is that they are still figuring out what the renewal looks like- do they take the book approach and do a new Kovacs and story or do they try to sign Kinneman back up and pick up with the rest of the S1 cast? What does the budget and filming schedule look like, etc.
Yeah i dont think most people realize the books are more vignettes in a life spanning a few hundred years. That probably scares the shit out of execs which is why the producers seemed to have made a S2 more viewer friendly by extending a few storyline threads out directly from the end of the show

I mean, I get *why* lists like this exist, and why TV networks do what they do, but even just the idea of scheduled TV is so foreign to me these days that I forgot that millions of people still actually watch TV when they're live on the air.

TV for me has been "pick that thing up off the DVR when it shows up" for so long that I don't even know what time most shows I watch come on. At most I remember the day.

It's important to me because my PVR only records 2 things at the same time so anything more needs to be scheduled from the west coast feed instead.

Agents of SHIELD renewed for a shortened 6th season? Consider this a rumor for now...

https://www.spoilertv.com/2018/05/agents-of-shield-renewed-for-6th-season.html
Confirmed: 'Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Renewed For Season 6 By ABC

No word on the episode count or if it's set up as a final season within the article.

EDIT: THR says:
The network has handed out an abbreviated 13-episode sixth season renewal to Marvel's Clark Gregg drama to Agents of SHIELD. The series, which marked Marvel Television's first live-action scripted drama before the comic book powerhouse spread its wings to cable and streaming, had run 22 episodes a season for its first five runs and is nearing its endgame. A decision about a potential final season has not yet been determined for the perpetual bubble drama.

I'd only care about a season two of Altered Carbon if the entire next season is all brand new characters and they bring in a completely different writer's room. The world and production are the only good things about that show.

Really glad to see SHIELD renewed, but a shame it's a shortened season. And a shame how the show has fallen off these past few seasons. Which is ironic, as it's just gotten stronger and better within the last few seasons. Really wish the ratings were there for it so we could have seen more from the show (beyond season 6).

Shortened season is normally a huge sign that they're planning on cancelling it though even if they don't explicitly say that.

Every episode of this season of Shield rated lower than any Agent Carter episode.

Friday and all, but even on Tuesday the year before it was about the same. Pity. I liked Agent Carter.

Yeah, 13 episodes is a sign that this will be the last season.

It's cool we'll get to see the aftermath of Infinity War on SHIELD, though.

22 eps just really seem to drag out shows nowadays. Well, 13 does give them a finale to work with, then.
I definitely agree but what I mean is that if a 22-23 episode show gets renewed with its episodes cut in half, the network likely isn't happy with the show anymore and just wants to give it a proper sendoff.

Although, ABC cancelled 12 shows and renewed 13 shows, if they cancelled SHIELD they would've cancelled 13 shows and renewed 13 shows, which would be a really bad look.

I liked it too. Season 2 was kind of a mess, but I think Agent Carter could've gone two more seasons and been fine. I wanted to see Peggy and Dottie forced to team up.

Now we need ABC to announce New Warriors for the fall with Shield replacing it in 2019.

I swear Disney has something to do with SHIELD getting renewed, ABC put SHIELD this season on the least watched night (Friday) where shows get sent to die, they really don't like this show but it keeps getting renewed.

I'm really sick of 22 eps series.. they just have so much dumb content that's filler. I'd prefer more short-run series for variety as well.

My family enjoys Shield a lot, and Agent Carter as well. I'm just used to the stuff I like being canceled at this point.

New Warriors will be Freeform, Disneyflix (or whatever they decide to call it) or Hulu is my prediction. Runaways was pretty popular on Hulu and depending on Cloak & Dagger ratings I could see it on Freeform.

Meanwhile, every single Marvel ABC show has had awfully abysmal ratings.

The show switching timeslots was the indicator the show was gonna end a couple of seasons ago, so I don't think Season 6 being a shortened one necessarily means it's the last.

Disney does have something to do with Shield constantly being renewed. ABC certainly doesn't care about the show, but Disney has stood up for it multiple times.

Freeform already said they don't want it.

Gotham saved? Yes. iZombie renewed? Cool.

Agents of SHIELD continuing? Well, dreams don't always come true I guess.
