This is a little embarrassing to admit, but that "hotter than the sun" thread is one of the ones I missed the most. I always enjoyed bitching about the LA heat with fellow Gaffers.
And yes it's been pretty awful lately. Thankfully my parents recently built a new house that has central a/c, so I've been hanging out there a lot.

Huntington Beach here and those past few days have been running both of my ac units. I'm dreading my electric bill.

Haha, I mean I think this is an LA thread general atm. Either way that's crazy far from me but if I ever find myself there I'll keep these in mind.
Oh wow, that's a bummer. Hopefully it's just a sprinkle. Nice to have some rain after all this heat, but it coulda picked another day lol.
No longer in China? I'll check out Side Chick next time I am around the area (sitting on a plane to China now, so it will be awhile). I pass by Side Chick a lot, and always think about going there, but I usually don't like Hainanese Chicken. I'll try it due to your post.

I still remember when it rained pretty hard a couple Halloweens back. I went to the WeHo Carnival and it was a shit show.
Nah I'm still in China running my company, but these 3 restaurants are my thing in LA for me. You can try the roast chicken there, its probably better than the Hainan Chicken haha. Actually my chef buddy who runs Side Chick (who is now semi famous due to all the media attention) was on GAF too.
Well it looks like the heat wave's finally breaking.
This is actually really frustrating if you need to work, especially if you're a night worker and need to sleep during the day when the heat is abysmal.

I'm kind of sad I'm going to be missing out on this weather since I'm spending the long weekend in Portland (yay rain).
I was out in that heat for a 2 hour walk earlier, and it didn't go that well. Gotta go back out in it again.
Dude me too lol. I've been here since yesterday visiting parents and my vitamin D batteries are already depleting.
