Can't Nintendo or TPC just demand the domains to be transferred to them? They have the copyright.

CSC Corporate Domains is the company Nintendo/TPC use for domain registration. I think it's safe to assume it's real
Now I'm just waiting to see the logos officially stated just like how we learned about Sun and Moon.
It's possible they were going to hold off on registering them until the last moment, in an effort to avoid leaks, but when leaks happened anyway they had to snap them up.

It's possible that the rumors started popping up big time because of this registration, or the rumors/leaks really made Nintendo/TPC move the date for the reveal to this week so they had to act.

While this could easily be fake, there's also a small chance they heard about the leaks and were forced to register the domains earlier than expected precisely to prevent squatting.
Well anything inspired by Pokémon Go shoudnt be considered mainline to begin with. But those names are truly the cherry on top. Lol
I was holding on to the hope that rumours werent true, but oh well.
Hope to be surprised and that this doesnt turn out to be another gimmick filled game.

CSC is indeed the organization that registers Nintendo trademarks, and since they're a huge company, they supposedly only deal with law firms and companies.
However, it's worth posting that according to the other thread, Nintendo typically registers with CSC Corporate Domains, whom the owner of these sites registered with. If it is a squatter, it's not some random guy in his basement trying to make a quick buck, because this company wouldn't give him that.
I don't know what to make of this, honestly. Guess we'll just keep waiting for the reveal.
