I've gotten all of my rumors/leaks mixed up, is Geonosis the supposed new map they're working on for Season 3 or are we thinking this is maybe something to do with the June update for the Solo season?

Edit: God I wish there was a more reasonable way to level heroes outside of HvV, I hate this garbage mode. Just played a match against the most unbelievable tryhard team of all time where the target did nothing but run away as hard as fucking possible every single time. It was literally a 25 minute match and we lost 2-0. I want to fucking break something lol.

Edit 2: I was just in a GA lobby where 3 MAPS IN A ROW the 15th place player (or lower!) on our team outscored the 1st place player on the other team. Zero team rebalancing. How is this not the absolute top priority at DICE right now? I don't understand boys. On a related note I have absolutely zero fucking idea how I'm gonna level up Specialist and Heavy without going 2-10 every match. Specialist I can at least fuck with on certain maps/sides, but I can't do jackshit with the Heavy, I outright abhor every single one of the Heavy gun options. Great for damaging objectives, garbage for everything else :/

I think Geonosis is what's rumored for Season 3. I saw something about it having a big, epic Geonosis that the team is buying time for in addition to something about, like, either Coruscant or Ryloth? I think for Starfighter Assault? Something like that, anyway.

Also, I've barely played Heroes versus Villains yet. But. I uh. I don't really play shooters much. So I guess I'll ask. Is it considered poor etiquette to run away if you're the target, then? You seem quite irritated that someone would do so but I'm not sure what else would be optimal in such a scenario. Thanks for educating me!

No, playing safe as the Target is perfectly fine, and you'll occasionally see someone playing as a total coward and bailing (usually Boba Fett on certain maps). The game I was talking about was specifically on a whole other level; it had to have been a full squad playing because every single target bailed harder than I've seen ever, like "we will kill your family if they kill you while you're the target" running away lol. I stuck in that lobby for a few games, at one point we went probably 8-10 minute without a single point being loss because they were running away so hard but they just outright couldn't kill me (I was the target). It was great for leveling since I was getting 40k+ score a game, but it was dumb as hell.

HvV is bad IMO mostly because Heroes/Villains aren't balanced at all separately for that mode so some are very clearly better than others, and there's map glitches + Boba Fett shenanigans that make it not fun. It needs some balancing for that mode specifically along with wall/map abuse fixes + a small number of NPC troopers (IMO). I also think the change coming in the patch tomorrow where you can't damage blocking lightsaber users with an air lightsaber attack is a very bad change (and others on reddit are pretty seemingly vocal in agreeing so I'm wondering if they'll roll that back at some point).

There's moments where it all comes together and is awesome, but it's mostly boring and/or teams steamrolling each other 90% of the time. Which I mean to a point I would say is the case for any mode in this game I guess, but you know what I mean. If it wasn't the only way to reasonably level heroes I wouldn't touch it in a billion years.

Ahhh, gotcha. Yeah, I see your point. It sounds like that team took it to a whole 'nother level. Well, at least you got some level-ups from it, I guess. Haha.

Heroes vs Villains is my favorite mode. Heh. Played it more than probably every other mode combined. Looking forward to that new mode.

I still miss the old HvV mode I liked that you only had one life in that as a hero so you had to be careful and pick your moments. Although I enjoy the HvV mode in 2 I find that where you can respawn people can just kamikaze at the target and not worry because they'll be back in pretty quick.

Looks like the front end has seen quite a makeover. Liking it, the holographic approach was neat in concept but didn't quite nail the landing.

FINALLY found a competitive light-side-hero for HvV. The mighty Chewbacca indeed is a BEAST. So much fun.
Dude, before he got his nerf a patch or two ago I could carry an entire team of lunatics with Chewie. It was almost too easy. He's still a total beast with the right cards, but you have to actually work for it now.

The easy mode beast is now Bossk. You don't even have to try, it's utterly ridiculous.

Interesting.

The main menu is looking very snazzy, looking forward to getting home and playing a few rounds on Jabba's Palace.

Ok, he's saying faster loading speeds.....got my attention. Someone update to the patch on consoles and then do some matches and post on the load times in between matches, and when you leave and start matches.

It's a lot of credits, but the Boushh skin does look fucking awesome...

Only played Blast, but it was 90 seconds from post-match screen to the start of the next match.

Most interesting thing to me in this patch was the Boussh/Maz Kanata retcon in the skin lore description. I guess that was a Forces of Destiny episode.

Which one was Extraction again? There was a mode in BF2015 I really enjoyed but I can't remember if it was Extraction or Cargo. It wasn't the one where pods came slinging down from orbit and folks competed to get 'em. It was the one where two teams, like, competed to be the first to obtain five of the enemy team's MacGuffins or whatever, and you'd see scores like 4-6 and 3-7 and 8-2 and whatever and whoever did the best before time-up won. (Or if you managed to pull of a 10-0 you automatically won.) I loved that mode.

You're thinking of Cargo.
Extraction was exclusive to the Outer Rim DLC pack and was like an escort the payload mode, similar to the escort mode from Overwatch. The attackers had to extract (or escort) a payload by moving it along a pre-determined route, and the defenders had to stop and hold them until time ran out.

Also, split-screen starfighter mode is hype. My wife and I can co-op blast tie fighters together just like we did in Rebel Strike!

It's nice to be able to see how great the models are in the menus now.

I'm gonna see if my younger brother wants to try out splitscreen Starfighter later when he gets home. I'm gonna try out the new Hero Showdown mode now.

Edit: Took about 25 seconds to load up to the character selection screen.

Ohh, okay. Thanks for the Intel. I miss Cargo!

They should get rid of the holo shader in the lobbies as well it looks so good without it in the main menu.
