Is there really no legendary or epic shields in the game? If so, I think it's a missed opportunity.
I think you'd be a pretty awful husband if replaced the shield your recently-deceased wife gave you on your anniversary. More skins would have been cool, though.
I wish the game would keep on loading the next area while you browsed the menu. It's a bit annoying to just wait there doing nothing.
I actually really like the Realm Between Realms. It's a beautiful place and I always take my time walking through it until the doorway shows up. Although... yeah, it would be cool too if we could do something else there. Maybe some mini-games or have Kratos and Atreus take a break or even just Atreus. Some stories, perhaps.

I already did so in the very beginning, when I got those shields that came with the digital edition. ;) It's just odd, that it's the only gear you can't upgrade to a better one.

The path between is more tolerable than switching between realms, while being locked on the circular platform. It's been particularly annoying during the endgame, when I've been completing all the sidequests. There were some stories during both earlier on, but not anymore. That's why I'd like to use the time to view the menu, and have the next realm load while I'm doing so.

I did too. Don't tell Faye.

What I imagined you meant was actual different shields that had stats and stuff, though. I'll just think of the skins as a paint job and not feel like a bad husband, haha.

Oh, yeah, it was a lot more fun when Mimir had stories to tell. I was really disappointed when I realized he ran out already. I don't mind that travelling to another realm takes a while because the whole process feels realistic and it makes the whole feat of jumping to another dimension feel... grand, and special. I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion, but I like it a lot.

As for the menus thing, an early version of the game (the greenlit test footage released the day before release, for example) actually had the menus working in real-time, like in The Last of Us. Kratos would manually put the Runic Attacks in, etc. That would have allowed for what you wanted, but then we wouldn't be able to switch out Runic Attacks in the middle of a fight. Without getting butchered by Draugr, anyway.

Being able to switch between sets of Runic Attacks without entering the menu in the sequel would be cool and very useful.

This is one of those games that I'm pissed when it ends, I need to experience more of this world.

Also, games this good make me take a step back and take a few days to a week off gaming so soak it all in and reflect. Anyone else like this?

Weird question but...

Does anyone have a wallpaper version of the artwork that is shown when you boot up the game (the lake of the nine basically)? Possibly without the GoW logo.

It's beautiful.

Yeah, that's what I meant, shields with different stats. It would have been nice to be able to collect epic ones of those as well.

The travel between realms was nice at first, but it grew tiresome after doing it several times. Particularly when I had to hop back and forth while completing the errands.

I've never actually tried to switch Runic Attacks mid-fight, but I don't see how keeping that how it is would prevent areas from being loaded while in the menu. On a side note, the Bitter Squirrel is great for filling up the Rage bar. I'm thinking about using it in the last Valkyrie fight, that I failed to beat yesterday, together with the legendary Resurrection Stone.

I bought a regular physical copy in my local toystore and the code for some goodies was in there.
I spend minutes with playstation Brazil support yesterday trying to asking 'why' I don't get some thinks. Here what he sayed:

- God of War Dynamic Theme don't come to Brazil.
- Themes for platinum a game like Horizon Zero Dawn and Bloodborne are just for USA and Canada. They don't come to Brazil.
- All this themes are payed on playstation store Brazil.
- First he sayed 'they still don't come to Brazil', but when I sayed 'but they already there on playstation store Brazil' he sayed 'yes, but not for free'.

I save all the chat log. I'm very sad now. Be a gamer in Brazil is a living Hell. High prices and we still recieve less content.

I just finished God of War and it was an awesome game! Great in every departments.
Don't know if I am going to platinium it though, lots of farming seems necessary.
However I regret not having read about Nordic Mythology before. It was complicated for me to remember all the gods so I didn't fully understood everything.
Did you guys knew a lot about this mythology?

I knew a decent amount growing up thanks to general interest in mythology and Ragnarök Online, the first MMO I ever played. I researched some more the older I got, but didn't really know much of the stories. I changed that a few months ago with Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology. Amazingly easy and fun to read, and primes you with the most important Norse mythology stories. Helped make me appreciate the game's story and world-building a lot more because of how much SSM was changing.

I knew whats important only to be honest but went deep after finishing the game. If you want a great way to dig deep, I recommend you get this book

I'm think I'm nearing the end, I don't want my adventure to end. A character whose with me just made a reference to me about doing everything I want to do before I do the main mission.

Mimir just said this, my mission now I take it is to go inside of the world serpent since he ate the Thor statue Odin supposedly hid Mimir's other eye in.

However before I do that, the dwarfs want me to get one last piece of equipment for them, so i'll do this first. The area its leading me in, I've never been yet so it'll be interesting.

Story spoiler here:

How obvious was it that Freya was Baldur's mother, it was pretty easily telegraphed and I'm pretty sure itll affect the ending of the game in a way, since in normal Thorse mythology, Baldur's death signifies the start of Ragnorak.

I still hope we at least get to see Thor before the game ends!!!!!

Just made it to the lake on GMGOW and I'm feeling much relief. Are there any areas I should explore before heading to the next story mission? I need all the XP I can get, but the first dock I choose at random is kicking my ass. Any easy sources of XP I can grab before I head up the mountain?

First thing I did after getting to the Lake was make a bee-line to the shop to get all the upgrades I could (feel free to spend everything). After that, I was able to do the side areas without too much trouble. I don't remember too much about my early-game strategies other than relying a lot on Executioner's Cleave.

I don't want this game to end : (

Two things for today:

1) The dialogue between the two is the best in any game ever. I can't believe some of the stuff Atreus says depending on the actions you are currently taking. I can't imagine how long it took for them to record that many variable lines of dialogue. It makes the relationship so natural.

2) The Mountain is khazad dum through and through.

Man this game is something else, truly.

The combat in this game is so layered and deep. From the system itself, fighting animation, feedback/impact and variety, it's the best I've played. Also the audio feedback when hits connect, my god. My wish for the sequel is that they increase the size of the general fighting arena/space.

Please keep the game length like this. Love how meaty it is!

It's pretty shitty, if they offer themes for platinum trophy in only certain regions. After all, all players who got the trophy accomplished the same, and deserve to be equally rewarded.
Indeed, but most part the playstation support Brazil ignore my tweets. They know the problem, but refuse to do somethink about.
Its even hard to believe the playstation plus really comes here to Brazil after all those years. Its almost hard to believe the GoW game came to Brazil at day one. In the day I buying GoW game other guy are asking about 'when Yakuza game come to Brazil', but the employer sayed without prevision to come here. Its Brazil after all.
Gonna give a try to support today again. Wish me luck.

Yeah I bought things and upgraded what I could. Maybe the Iron Cove is just especially tough because those dudes were killing me in one shot sometimes. I'll explore further and see whether other things are easier or I need to git gudder.

I'm actually struggling to finish this game. Weird, because I like it... but idk, I play for 20 - 30 mins and start thinking about doing other stuff.

I think all the hidden load times and repetitive actions like looting/climbing are wearing on me.

Amazing, exciting game.... that somehow feels oddly boring a lot of the time. I don't know how to describe it, tbh.
