I wonder why it is called blade of chaos in this game because Kratos had the blades of exiles at the end of GOW 3.

Now you've reminded me of that show again. Lol
You should get a job at SSM for this fantastic gifs.
Man, as cool as this execution is, I really wish each Troll being unique meant each had their own execution. Real shame.
Did the Wulvers get an introduction? I don't seem to recall any.
These chaos blades gifs look awesome, reminds me I need to get back to using them, haven't touched them since I first completed the game a few weeks ago, been making all my gifs with just the axe. XD
Cory tweeted that it was intentional and it will be explained later. Maybe by later he means the sequelI wonder why it is called blade of chaos in this game because Kratos had the blades of exiles at the end of GOW 3.
There is so much more stories to tell, and not just going forward. It's so exciting.
Oh, that's a good point. They could have at least allowed us to execute them with the blades, maybe? Helson (the Helheim Troll) did have a unique Blades of Chaos execution, after all. (I feel bad complaining a bit about this because the game is just so damn good, haha)I agree. I guess it was just too much to create an execution that'd only be seen once or twice for the trolls, so I'm not complaining. It's still epic af.
It's kind of hard to question naming conventions in a series that uses monsters from different myths in a Greek mythology setting, like the Kraken, those elephant monsters from Ascension, the Basilisk and Efreet from Chains of Olympus, etc. At the very least, though, Brok and Sindri named it after Jörmungandr. The World Serpent being a giant and how the axe was meant to make up for the slaughter of the giants and whatnot. Can't wait! Asked me the same thing where he got them back and why he hasn't took the exile ones with him or even the blade of olympus.
And still I ask myself how the dwarves/devs came up with tne name LEVIATHAN for a norse myth game

He said it's because they want to let players' first time seeing Faye be the same as when Kratos first meets her, to make it more meaningful and whatnot. What convinced him and his team to not show Fraye's appearance, or a flash back?
I don't think it's right to say "focus" as it was just brought up twice, at most. Brought up and kind of ignored, even. It served a gameplay purpose of revealing even more of the Lake of Nine, but in terms of story, it's definitely to tease future events. Why it happened at that moment will probably be revealed when we find out who did it or why they did it. Plus, again, from a gameplay perspective, they needed to reveal more of the Lake again. Would be weird to leave out most of the Lake for the end of the game. Why deliberately focus on the Serpent horn blowing even though its effects had no obvious impact on this game or its story? If it's foreshadowing for future events, why not have it at the very end of the game?

Lol despite how brief it was, the drinking scene is one of the best scenes I've seen in a game. It was just so unexpected.Just beat it, best God Of War by far. The drinking scene was hilarious.
Noice!! I may use this, I always start a fight with Valkyrie with the shield bash rune. Then follow up with the slam attack that does a lot of stun. This is an interesting way to start off a fight though.I agree. I guess it was just too much to create an execution that'd only be seen once or twice for the trolls, so I'm not complaining. Thank you! I think overall I prefer using the blades of chaos just because of the sheer power they give you. All the runic attacks look so awesome and swinging it with R2 feels glorious. :P
Hyperion Grapple is probably my favourite runic for BoC.

awesome gif. but the first few seconds in slow motion while the gif loaded were brilliant. can you please make another one starting from the jump attack and make it all slow motion? Atrieus jumping over kratos in slow mo looked awesome.
get out of this thread and go home. you can fast travel there.Just beat it, best God Of War by far. The drinking scene was hilarious. Visuals are out of this world and fighting was incredible.
Very surprised that we never saw Thor, Odin or Asgard once.
So Atreus is the God of mischief with spartan blood in him.
Sequel this gen or ps5?
Ahhhhh thanks :)Kratos shares some Greek wine with Atreus. It happens pretty late.
AaaahhhhNoice!! I may use this, I always start a fight with Valkyrie with the shield bash rune. Then follow up with the slam attack that does a lot of stun. This is an interesting way to start off a fight though.
kikiribu best scene bro..
."aaaaaahhhhhh"
Kratos steals a bottle of very old wine from Tyr's vault and shares it with Atreus. Earlier we see him pick it up but don't know he took it with him until that quest ends. The reaction from both of them was too good.

I finished most of the Valkyries while a high 6, low 7. I think you'll be fine but good luck with Sigrun. I've only spent about 30 minutes on her, I'm sure I've barely begun to scratch the surface. I decided to go finish Muspelheim and Nilfheim to level up before coming back. Finally demolished my first Valkyrie on the second try. Am high level 8 and fought the one in Niheim for the first time. Put the whoopin on her. Hopefully the last one is not too hard. These Valkyrie runes are great.
I thought that was an effect of the Black Rune at first since shortly after it activated in his hands and lit up his arms, he began acting like a little brat. But it wearing off quickly does make me think it could have been the wine too though lol.So Atreus is drunk when he's being a brat right? And he says "I couldn't have done that" because he blacked out a bit?
That's a Light Elf and yes; in Alfheim there are two Light Elves standing around watching you and they leave as we approach them. The trailer that gif was taken from was from a years old build, and it had a lot of other concepts that were completely removed from the game, such as Rage meter appearing in cutscenes whenever Kratos gets angry at Atreus, different HUD, Jormungandr appearing right near the deer we hunt and a dragon flying overhead into the camera, etc. In the real game, all that stuff plays much differently.Oh yeah, anyone remember how in the first reveal there was a spirit/thing in the background?
Is anything like that in the game? Is it a Light Elf to go with the Dark Elf that flies by a little later? It's weird how it was there in the background watching then jumps away when Kratos gets closer and I can't think of anything in the game that was like it, unless it shows up in places as you play but is hidden like in the reveal? Or could it be an early-ish Valkyrie, with that head/helmet?
I heard it from a distance making a bunch of noise and was totally confused why it wasn't attacking. It can be hard to hit unless you time an axe throw perfectly. Weirdly enough, this little creature didn't pop up in my first playthrough. If you kill it, it drops an unusual amount of loot. I have no idea what happens if you decide keep it alive though.. maybe nothing. Can you do anything with the worm like creature in the Mountain mines?
But I remember Magni stating something like, the reason everyone THINKS Magni is the strongest is because he is blonde like Thor unlike his brother, so he is the star child, when in reality they are both comparable. So it might just be all hype.Well according to Norse mythology, Magni is the strongest Aesir god so he is stronger than Thor who is stronger than Odin. So if Kratos could beat Magni, he has no difficulty beating anyone else,, unless this game is using sorting power in the opposite side. :p
Thor isn't blonde, he has red hair like Modi. But I remember Magni stating something like, the reason everyone THINKS Magni is the strongest is because he is blonde like Thor unlike his brother, so he is the star child, when in reality they are both comparable. So it might just be all hype.
