From what I've been reading the loading times have been reduced significantly. Have not had a chance to play yet, but can anyone confirm? I'd probably play a bit more often if that was the case. The wait between matches was a bit much.
+New UI and QoL stuff is fucking stellar. I like it telling you who you specifically assisted when you get an assist, main menus look great now, etc
+Loadtimes are very noticeably improved
-LOL at Legendary Skins being 80k. That's already debatable, but more importantly that translates into $20 if you buy it with Crystals which is outright absurd. Virtually no one is going to pay $20 for a skin in this game (and there's 4 more Legendaries coming next month).
-Hero Showdown actually manages to be even worse than HvV. Why does this mode even exist? The map more than supports 4v4, it's like they had to tick a box that said "new gamemode" or something for this update. Terrible. Jabba's Palace is still a great map though.
RIP me: I went from 100% Milestone completion (again) back down to 81% with the million Score based milestones they added. Don't have any kind of feel yet for how ridiculous these will be to get or not.

With almost any other game I would agree, but the blowback on this game has been massive, and on the even "hardcore" communities for this game like reddit I've literally only seen ONE person that has said they've bought Crystals. Specifically to that point I haven't seen ANY of the Crystal packages on PS4 since they came out break the top 120 Paid/Add-On chart there. That's....bad. No one is buying this shit.
Kinda like offline WA skirmish in the previous game, it doesn't feel nearly as fun as online.
They should add 5 more bots to each team + tweak the AI.
After 3 full matches playing about half Heavy half Specialist I got something around ~15% towards the Novice score milestone and ~7% Veteran. Not super terrible. The Aerial/Enforcer ones are going to be a bit rougher though, I'll probably have to grind those out in Blast which should be much quicker. The Hero requirements are much higher but Score comes much faster and higher in HvV so I should hit all of those well before I hit 40 with my Heroes/Villains anyway (I'm 30-34 across the board right now). I didn't even see they added Starfighter ones (but no Hero Ship ones thank god) but I'm also only at around 25-26 on my 3 core Fighters so I'll hit those before I hit those level caps as well there.
I appreciate they didn't add any new fucked milestones like the kills hero ships as Maul or kill 30 heroes with a Special unit again.

HvV spawns for Jabba's Palace are fucked. I got spawned right in the middle of 3 enemies in the rancor pit

I timed them. They're about 25 seconds now at most, at least for me using an external drive on Xbox One. Used to be like a minute or something.

It's a great update and I'm stoked for whatever's coming in June. These load times are definitely improved and I love the action figure feeling of the new Collection layout.
You should have seen it before. And Battlefront 2015 is still worse than BF2 at its worst.
New Heroes and Villains mode is alright. I can see why they went for a 2v2, quite often you see people being dicked on by 3 lightsaber users at once. Problem with the new mode is there's too much waiting. You wait to load the mode, if you die you're waiting for your teammate to win or lose, then you pick your character and wait for the next round to start and so on. There's too much break up of play, half the experience is being sat in the menu.

I just unlocked the explosive shot on the Heavy's DC-15. I heard that it was overpowered but... jesus christ. I levelled up twice in a single round, it's disgusting.
So I've switched to the Specialist class because I feel bad. Infiltrator's actually a really fun ability once you get the hang of it.

It really is. Really got me back into the game after yesterday. Especially being able to cancel out of the maps i don't wanna play.
As someone who only plays casually and dropped PlayStation Plus recently, it's good enough for me. I played a round in Arcade last night and had fun. For the 30 minutes a month I'll probably play of the game going forward, it's enough to make me happy.
Wow, excellent patch!!! Load times are awesome now, and quite honestly it makes a huge difference in wanting to keep playing. Love the UI overhaul too. Hated the hologram filter that was over the screen, so glad thats gone....makes it all much cleaner. Wish they would also now get rid of it on the pre-match screens too.
I haven't played a big game in a while so I don't have a very recent point of comparison.
I bought and played with the Leia Boushh costume a bit last night and here are my thoughts:
1. This costume is awesome! For the first time in a long time, I actually wanted to play HvV INSTEAD of SFA. Now that's saying something. And I had fun wrecking the Iden Versio I got to play against. I don't know why, but it felt like the costume made me play better. Or maybe it inspired fear in my opponents and they were too intimidated to press the trigger. And soiled themselves. That's probably it.
B. I'm not sure Boushh's emotes are working. I only have one unlocked and equipped, but it didn't seem to do anything when I pressed the D-pad. Also, how do I go about unlocking Leia's other taunts? It says by "opening crates," but... are they all achievable with milestones now? Or do I just have to wish really hard that someday they'll just magically appear? Unlike the miniature pony I never got.

Anyhoo... I'm glad I saved up the credits for this and I look forward to future Legendary skins. Bring on "Frozen in the Vacuum of Space" Admiral Ackbar.

this sounds great. I'm pretty tempted on saying "screw it" and dropping some money on some crystals for it. I only have like 15000 credits so I'm dying over here. Lol

Good to hear load times are improved. They were honestly one of the biggest detractors of keeping me playing. If only it carried over to BF1. That shit is still a nightmare to bounce around.

Man, I'm loving this game so much aside from my (considerable) qualms with the campaign.

I'm hoping we at least get some new Han Solo skins (their website already has pictures of A New Hope Han so that has to be coming...) and maybe Qira as a new Hero? I guess if they're doing that they'd also need to do a villain for balance? Not sure who from that movie would be up for it... maybe Paul Bettany's character?
Hey people, I've switched from X1 to PS4 recently and wondered whether it's too late to get into the game now? I did play for it for a couple of months on X1 but I'd be starting off new on PS4 and from what I've read it's a bit of a pain to level up without crates now is that right? I remember getting a little bored with the content there was but it seems like there might not be much support for this game going forward?
It is somewhat painful to level up playing something like Galactic Assault, but if you play the more focused trooper modes and Heroes vs Villains, you should have a suite of viable characters in a fairly reasonable amount of time.

In that case, only for HvV. All others get me going pretty quickly.
