Yes, because you will get the invoice from whatever authorized reseller they use. The authorize reseller is also who will charge your card. They are essentially a middleman who negotiates for you, and presumably they are getting some percentage from the reseller.

Ive never used purchase price protection. I need to get an invoice? Guess i meed to read up on it.

Wat? I hardly noticed a difference on mine. Was this affected by a firmware update or something?

It's been awhile but I thought many members on AVSforum said game mode didn't impact image quality hardly at all on the P series.
I noticed it in my own testing. Go play a game in a really dark area, HDR. And flip game mode on and off. Difference was enormous on mine, under the right conditions.

Yeah just tested game mode playing Battlefront 2 and there's zero difference between it being enabled or disabled.

P series.

When you set game mode make sure to set "Local Contrast" back to high. That is why in a dark room it looks worse. You essentially turned off local dimming. It originally defaults to off when you first switch to game mode.

Rtings shows they've purchased both the 5 and 6 series, and they should be up next now that the Samsung Q7 and Q9 FN reviews have been posted. Any day now!

I'm especially interested in seeing if the 5 is a significant upgrade over the S (direct-lit?).

Will this fit in a Honda Accord (2012) if I get the 55" at Best buy? o.o

I really don't need it, but I might pull the trigger.

I use my Xbox one x for my DirecTV box and it's giving this TV all kinds of fits. Flicking, green lines, static and blackouts. But, it works when I connect the box directly to the TV. Anyone know why?

The Xbox one X is flickering green lines just on the Xbox screen and on the insects demo. I'm not sure what's going on...

Yea, something is definitely wrong. When tried Assassins creed origins it's the TV goes black, but comes back with the HDR symbol and flickering lines...

I also have a TV nitch with an hdmi in and out on my shelves. But, when I tried plugging my Xbox one X directly into the TV on HDMI port 3 in the settings only display 4K tv was green using the hdmi cable that came with the Xbox. When I use the HDMI out on my wall everything but 50hz was green. So maybe it's a cable issue. I don't know...

Try a different HDMI port? I used to get shit like that on my 43X800D when I hooked it up to my PC. Have not had it happen on the TCL though.

I thought the cable that came with the Xbox One X was supposed to be decent? Guess I'll order some from Amazon since the only ones I have are I know are 1.4 HDMI.

Also when trying to watch TV With my Directv box through my Xbox it says your device doesn't support the content protection and if you want to watch this content consider using component cables which I thought was weird while flickering and staticky. Plugging the box directly into the TV it works just fine...

you cant put your back seats down or something?
I already caved and went and got it lol. don't think the trunk opening is big enough anyway, but actually I just picked it up and surprisingly it fit in back. Center console area made me have to wiggle it in a little but it fits perfect and isn't blocking my rear or blind spots. Google had me worried.

Nice, unfortunately the P605 didn't fit in the back of my Sentra when I picked it up a couple months ago. Had to leave it at Best Buy and go borrow a relatives vehicle that had enough space.

Might be the 2017 model, but I've been extremely happy with this tv thus far.

Wow so I have my Hisense 43HC72 (HDMI 3 slot) and was switching back and forth between it and my new TCL 55R16 (HDMI slot 2)and im actually disappointed... have CoD WW2 hooked up and motion blur is way noticeable on the TCL (game mode) picture is quite a bit darker too (though it is a bigger screen so i guess that matters).

Edit: ok, I guess the TCL had to warm up for a bit or something, because it's fine now. Sorry for the waste of a post

So I won't get my new certified premium HDMI cables until Friday. But, I used the cables that were giving me issues with my Xbox one x on my PS4 Pro and they worked just fine 4K HDR on GOW looked amazing. But, I can't watch a 4K Blu Ray, play a 4K game in HDR longer than 5 mins without picture issues on my Xbox one X. Hopefully the new cables solve my issues, but I'm wondering if it has something to do with my Xbox being in the preview program. But, I've gotten to test this tv with apps on the TV like Netflix and YouTube and the Dolby vision app and this TV is amazing. Out of the box the picture is really good and I can't wait until I find some settings for it...

Weird, if they work for PS4 you think they'd work fine for Xbox.

Ended up cancelling my order on Amazon after waiting several weeks for it to fulfill. At this point, I'll wait on the rtings review and keep saving for the right choice.

Here's a video of Some Mario Odyssey sky footage. Considering exchanging mine... I don't know if I want to deal with that, but I also don't want to get something worse.

No, I think voice on this remote is kinda crap. If you're familiar, the voice on xfinity remotes is leagues better. Definitely not worth $50.

Input lag is not good without game mode enabled, at least on ports 1 and 2. DK jumping in a minecart felt like he had to heave himself up before he jumped. With it enabled is really nice. Especially for platformers.

yeah you may want to post a 60 FPS video.. 30 FPS really makes it hard to see stuff like this.

Enjoying my new 6 series. One thing that bothers me however, is that there doesn't seem to be any way to see what the TV is running at (i.e. resolution, refresh, HDR). I know the HDR has icon that will appear briefly, but is there really no way to get basic picture info?

Hit the ok button when you're doing nothing. Sometimes double click it

After reading way too many issues of vertical banding and dark corners, I guess I'll hold off til these issues are addressed. Bummer.

Yea, there is just hit the OK button and it'll show it on the bottom of the screen. Doesn't say HDR but, you'll know that by the hdr indicator in the top right when you start hdr content...

Damn. If it looks anything like the pic then I definitely would. Is this a widespread issue with the 55" or just the 65"?

My 55" was that bad I sent it back. Luckily my replacement was much better. If I look at a plain screen I can kind of make out a small section with banding, but only when looking close at a still white screen. In actual use I have never been able to notice it.

Should I let my Xbox one X automatically detect the tv settings or what? If I don't what should I set it on? Just wanting to try that before my new cables arrive tomorrow to see if it helps with the flickering and signal loss...

From 'quake area to big OH.
Does the plastic bar under the center do anything, and my power circle just flickers when inputs.

And the Xboxir blaster doesn't work with it. :(
Maybe I can find a manual code.

Third panel. Decided to try my luck at Best Buy. Its uniformity is better, but it's still not great and I can still see some banding. I see a little bit of darkened corners, and most annoying, there's a cm or so long hair of dirt in the middle left screen that's visible 8 ft away.

I'm going to hold onto it for a week and see if the banding improves; I feel like it's gotten better since I first turned it on at least. I am, however, considering just returning it and waiting for the new vizio p series reviews. It's a bit more expensive, but it may be worth it if I'm planning to hold onto this set for several years.
