The new Lifelike is really good, but this is my favorite from the two tracks. Apologies if it's already been posted, I did have a quick look.

I'm way late catching up to this thread, but a few comments:
Deadlife impressed a lot of folks with the 'Bionic Chrysalis' album, and the new album is fantastic. I don't like much of the darksynth stuff, but this is great.

This is pretty good for the most part, but I dislike that "whispered spoken" kind of vocals. Not a strong dislike, it's not too distracting, but I wish it weren't there.

this is really good

edit:

very nice twists to synthwave, can't wait for the album

Shit, yes, it really is! Thanks.

Master Boot Record is more synth metal but god damn the new album is pure fire. Big step up from previous work IMO

Oh? I have their entire discography bought on Bandcamp. Great band but I thought each album was a little samey. Haven't heard this one yet. Curious to see what makes it that much better... gonna check it out tomorrow.

Same, i have the first album on vinyl and i still think it's enough from them :D vocals are a nice addition though.

(the silly track naming convention does not help either)

Carpenter Brut in a couple hours. Le Matos playing as well. Should be a fun time!

Carpenter Brut rocked on Friday night. Same issues I had with Dance with the Dead however, wish there was a bit of downtime, some more crowd interaction, instead of the onslaught on music. The video display was graphic as all heck too, dang!

Anyways, new albums.. New Arcades EP 'Nothing is Lost' is great, and the new album from Robert Parker 'End of the Night' is really good, even if a little more 'dancey' than I like.

Another album released friday is Meteor's Voyage Into Fear. Soundtrack kind of album. I like the sound of it, though not that much stands out.

Another release I havn't seen mentioned here that was released some weeks ago is Kalax's Not alone. Pretty good.

I really didn't like the vocals on the new Master Boot Record album. Basically ruined about half the songs for me. Shame because the instrumental bits seemed way more memorable than previous material.

Couple of old mates from the homeland were at the Outland event tonight in Glasgow.

Had no idea about these events, it seems they are doing a small cruise up and down London Thames with artists TBA in September.

I mean with a line up like this it's sure to be decent enough.

I can't stop listening to this genre of music, it's so good to just chill out to at work and get my headphones on and get stuff done.

I can't stop listening to No Return. Meteor usually has at least one knockout track on each album, and that's it for this one.

It Rains Fire is pretty good, too.

Also a big fan of this, which features Paradise Walk. Not a big fan of the cheesy intro, but the song is good!

Subbing to the thread. I've been a vaporware but these past two years. It's made me discover a lot of 80s songs I've never heard of or only knew the tunes to.

I'll post my favorites when I'm not on mobile.

Here's a nice EP that was released back in January but seems to have been overlooked: https://minitel-records.bandcamp.com/album/mrec006-waves

It almost sounds like it was made in the eighties but unreleased until now. Three awesome AOR tracks with great vocals, a smooth sax tune and an epic 7-minute outrun track with some nice electric guitar work make this an EP well worth your time.

Surrounding the Santa Fe shooting today, never knew this was a thing. I don't understand how Perturbator is lumped in with this.

Via NY Times btw.

James had sent cease and desist orders to people using his music in their propaganda videos. Fascists aggressively try to adopt all sorts of things as their own. They tried with punk, ska, metal, industrial and now the synth scene.

Above all this, Mr. Pagourtzis recently visited a "fast food" outlet, professionally known as McDonalds. The food - largely burgers and fries - has also been enjoyed by affiliates of neo-Nazi groups and the alt-right.

The absolutely dirt worst type of "journalism"

Is that autotune? Kinda detracts from the track.

I think it may be a bit of it layered under the other vocals. It makes sense because the song is about a sentient karaoke machine. Although there's this weird discrepancy between the production of the vocals and the backing track. If you want heavy autotune, listen to Sanfransokyo Girl, lol.

TWRP's new album is fucking rad. One of my top albums of 2018.
