It's one of those "boost your HR" quests, like the Legiana + Pink Rathian last time.
Is it? I remember doing the P.Rath and Legi quest and not getting too much more xp than I would get from a tempered elder.
I'd personally much rather grind HR whil getting something else done at the same time, like crowns or decos.
That's great news! Was wondering if I should immediately extend my PS+ subscription when it expires in two days. I guess that's my answer.

Ugh, I kinda hate the idea of paying $10 to be able to fight Kulve online, but it takes like 2 hours to beat her once solo.
Should be. Look forward to all of her good weapons being/getting nerfed though.
Is this the equivalent of being paid $5/hour?
And that if you do the siege only once and don't play online again for the month.

Kulve is great fun in a decent sized lobby.
Do any of her weapons actually break the game? I have a load from the first event but haven't actually used any yet.
Glutton HBG is significantly more powerful than any other spread HBG, but I don't know about breaking the game.
Feels like it. Dealing with RNG in MMOs and MMO-Lite games like this really does draw parallels to stereotypical office drudgery.
They should have really made PS+ optional for the online in this, or at least for time-limited events like the seige.
Glutton is basically pre-patch Slicing levels of good. People are wrecking TEDs in <3 minutes with zero effort, but I actually see that as a good thing since we're all sick of fighting them.
Wide 4 Gunlance is also crazy good. Just put healing on it and you can fire away point-blank with zero worries.
I am so torn! I really want to play this game but I don't know what platform to choose! I want to play on PC for performance but that comes out in the Fall. Xbox is my console of choice but I hear that the PS4 is has a much healthier online community. It doesn't help that none of my friends want to play this game. Any advice? HALP!
Do you have the Kulve Assault "Glutton" HBG? Do yourself a favor and build a set for it focusing on Spread 3. It's pretty ridiculous, especially with an impact mantle.

Do you have an X and don't want to wait for PC? Buy it on that. The community is smaller but not small enough that you won't find games if you use reddit/discord.
If you really care about performance though, you may want to wait for PC.
I made a note of everything R7 and above that dropped for me. No glutton HBG. :(
I had intended to look through the lists and delete everything that's not an upgrade to what's already available but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
Def keep the "Horn" CB and the "Shot" LBG, idk about the rest. Hopefully the RNG gods favor you when Kulve comes back.

Nice to see the great giant golden goat jagras returning sooner than we thought, but I am definitely going to avoid the hunts. I got my 4 gems and unless if they decided to introduce weapons or charms that you can craft from it, I don't want to put myself through more of those hunts since it almost completely burnt me out of the game.
Guard or Guard Up tho? Make sure you know which one you need so you can temper your disappointment *sobs*

Ah, I hear you. The only thing worse than full Uragaan armor is partial Uragaan armor.
There's also the Bulwark charm. But yeah, I would love to have a Guard Up jewel. I think it exists, but I haven't gotten one yet.
My curreny big targets are more Guard jewels (I only have one) and the Mighty Bow jewel (one additional charge level for bows).
It works suprisingly well with the Kulve armor.
The alpha chest also looks badass I think.
Not an ammo type but rather their special abilities: Wyvernblast, Wyvernheart and Wyvernsnipe.

Besides: it blocka Kulve's lava pools, Vaal's breath beam, Teo's supernova, Daora's charged wind blast, Radobaan and Uragaan's gas attacks, Deviljho's pins... Sure there might be other options to deal with these attacks, like flash pods or superman dives. Or you just use one level 2 jewel and not worry about them at all.
Definitely useful against Kulve Lava attack, Teo Supernova and Vaal AoE breath if you are using Lance/Gunlance, I rather invest in G.Up than risk getting caught off guard and getting carted.
Just use power guard. And those attacks have super obvious tells that it on you if you get hit.
You still need Guard Up with Power Guard....Power Guard don't have innate Guard Up...
Lance/Gunlance have super slow sheathing animation and the backhop is not fast enough to get out Supernova/EffBreath AoE...
Source : getting supernovaed and effbreathed several times using Lance even if I try to backhop as soon as they started the windup.
Gunlance even had it worst thanks to slow recovery time after each attack, good luck trying to evade supernova when you are in the middle of slamming when he started the windup.

How do I use power guard with GL and CB?
True they have tells, but GL and CB also have awful sheathe speed. I tried outrunning Kulve's lava pools with GL and most of the time I wasn't fast enough. Pointless guard up on the other hand kept me alive every time.
I mean yeah it's a strong shield but it's not invincible. stuff like Nerg's super charge, Tesotera's supernova, and Deviljho's headsmash can still 1-hit KO you even at full health with a shield. even at your defense at Max+ you'll still take 95% of your health from a 1-hit KO.
I want to say it still need Guard Up for that stuff. I remember trying to gp Vaals AoE breath and eating shit a couple of times before getting my deco. Granted I didn't try it a lot and my timing could've been off.
Certain points in an attack animation where your shield etc can block an incoming attack. Normally it changes color or flashes but it means you can attack and still take a hit and continue
Mechanic exclusive to Charge Blade. Certain attacks/animations let you block automatically.
Benefits include free +2 Guard and doing a tiny bit of phial damage when your shield is charged up.
Both guard (iron wall) and guard up yeah. I've had 10+ guard up but only a single guard. Guard up is a great insurance policy for lance that allows you to keep the weapon unsheathed and just carry on poking!
I loved running KT even after getting all 4 gems (which took forever). Looking forward to doing it all over again.
I still have no skill in using guard points whatsoever. What would be a good monster to train it against?
Diablos with its charge is good practice. I'm not great at guard points myself but I've gotten ok fighting Diablos and Nerg with them. Was pretty satisfying getting a guard point against Nerg when he did his dive.
Barroth is a good training dummy, and Diablos for a lot of the same reasons. Focus on their charges and work your way up to less telegraphed attacks.
Thanks, will try it against them some time. LR seems the way to go, since HR Diablos would just maul me right off the bat.
Kind of a shame there's no dummy feature in the training area. Like some sort of crude boxing machine, which could throw punches at you while you practiced guarding and stuff.
