Michael is the first big bad that has actually seemed a challenge since Lucifer 1.0. he certainly makes an entrance.

Should be a fun season next year. There is no angel army (for now at least) for Michael.

Can't believe that's that for you know who. End of an era there.

I hope a GIF surfaces of that freeze frame shot in the end. That's the most smug grin I've ever seen but it was great. Jansen Ackles looks like he had too much fun doing that scene.

Loved the finale but god gamn that hype Dean/ Michael vs Nephilim Juiced Lucifer was weak as hell.

They should have left the wires visible, it would have been much more self aware, like that last shot of Dean straight out of the 70s. :)

Fantastic finale though that freeze frame was so strange. Haha.

I don't understand why the writers let it be known that Dean would be playing another character. It was obvious that it would end up being Michael

But yeah, great episode. The callback to the Michael Sword was crazy. And I guess Lucifer is finally and truly dead?

I loved the Dean & Jack bonding. Dean finally treating Jack nicely warms my heart.

That fight scene with Dean & Lucifer was so...cringe. The running and jumping like they're werewolves to the floating in the air like they're in space was just horrible, one of the worst fight scenes ever.

So I guess Lucifer is finally permadead? No coming back, gone for good? Must say I'll miss him...he WAS turning around and they ruined it :/. His talk with Jack where has wasn't looking down on them anymore and didn't blame them for Angels and Humans not being able to get along and they're just different. Then they ruin him? Come on. Lame.

Also really wish they could've left politics out of this lol, even though it was only like 10 seconds short the in your face political crap bothers me. I don't mind the passive more between the lines politics but unno might just be me.

Also sorta happy Lucifer took Jacks power. I LOVE that actor, he's so good. But having someone has broken as him on their team would just ruin everything, so it's a good way to keep him and not have him just make everything ez. Also with him having no power Alt-Michael is a legit threat.

I can't believe Jack survived. I was so sure he was going to get killed.

That was awesome.

So did Micheal / Dean travel at the end there or does he just dress like he's in Newsies?

Should have used the other Michael. Maybe that is how they'll defeat Dean-Michael.

The incredibly cheesy freeze frame + zoom in is one thing, but that fight scene... my god... that was so awful.

At least the Dean with wings entrance was cool.

Yeh Dean's entrance was badass. Too bad it was ruined by that fight scene. What were they thinking? I don't think they ever once had an Angel fight, or any fight for that matter in the goddamn air.

Yeah, Michael is going to be quite a challenge, since everyone at or above his level is gone or uninterested in helping now.

I appreciate that they tried something different for the Dean/Lucifer fight scene but it did not look good.

Thought the episodes was solid enough. I fully expected all the Alt world characters to die so it was nice to see that I was wrong on that front and therefore we can see these characters again next season I would assume. As far as Lucifer goes... as much as I love that actor I do think it was time to wrap that arc up once in for all. Was hoping the Dean character twist would be something... else but hey we'll see what happens!

Can Castiel not bring back people from the dead now? I remember him bringing Bobby back to life in the season five finale. Did they acknowledge him losing that ability or something?

I think he lost it when the gates of heaven were closed.

Finale was cool but I thought the season lacked focus despite there being a lot of cool plot elements. Can't wait to see what Dean-Michael has up his sleeve though.

So next season will be another first few episodes trying to save him, some monster of the week hunting after that, then everyone gets together and kills whoever is the big bad after that. Probably another "I'm not really dead" character from any season they choose.

Everything seems to be repeating itself and the only thing changing is the budget.

Hopefully one of the episodes might try to fit in more Wayward Sisters stuff now that isn't going forward.

What the flying fuck was that last 10 minutes. You give me Sword of Michael Dean VS Nephelim Lucifer and its a 3 minute wire fight with bad acting from everyone? And then you have Sword of Michael Dean looking like he belongs on the set of Peaky Blinders with a freeze frame glowy eye stinger? Please for the love of god troll the fuck out of us and have Season 14 begin with Gabriel revealing the last 2 episodes where just him showing everyone what will happen if shit goes south. PLEASE. I was fine with supernatural up til episode 20, but then the last 3 episodes....god damn it just no.

I skipped most of the season after the first few episodes, but I caught the 2nd half of the finale. I don't know how people continue to stan for this show. The conflicts are uninspired, the characters now boring, the budget non-existent, the acting awful. It's a ghost of what it used to be running on the fumes of broken plot points and empty prophecies. It's a shambling, rotting corpse of something I once loved, and for some reason (I know, $$$) CW refuses to put it into the dirt.

Sorry I'm a hater. But it's just bad now. I'll probably always track what's going on with the show to some degree, pop in for an episode here or there, but it's long since lost any hold it had on me.

Pretty much sums up how I felt about that last part. I was dying laughing at them floating around fighting. What an embarrassingly botched and off-tone final 10 minutes.

Totally disagree. The fight was lame and the freeze frame was ridiculously silly. But the last three episodes as a whole were great.

I wouldn't call you a hater, haters tend to actually watch the show in question. You're the equivalent of a drive by troll, someone who just wants their opinion heard despite their opinion meaning zilch. Like great, you skipped most the season then didn't like the last episode; do you want a participation medal?

No, I'm someone who watched this show for 13 seasons and am laughing at how bad it's become. It's a mess and a far cry from its former quality, and I wouldn't know that without the context of having watched just about the whole series.

If I was a drive-by I wouldn't be back. You can look back across the ages from the old site to here and see I've been watching for a long time. You don't have to agree with my post. But having a different opinion than you, no matter how strong it is, doesn't make me a troll.

You openly admit you watched a couple of episodes, couldn't be bothered to watch the rest, then watched half of the finale and deemed it terrible. Then decided to post your thoughts on the finale as if they carry any weight whatsoever.

I don't think my not watching some of the earlier episodes disqualifies my opinion from mattering as I'm commenting on what I did watch, not what I didn't. The fact is, what I saw was bad. Bad writing is bad writing, bad fight scenes are bad fight scenes, bad effects are bad effects. Bad TV is bad TV. Sorry. You're wrong.

Opinions are fun.

It wasn't bad TV though. I disagree. A couple things I didn't like in the finale but the season was overall great. I think the past three seasons have been a rejuvenation for the series after the up and down 7-10 (with 8 being really good in the middle of that).

Sorry you dislike it.

Right? I'm not faulting anyone for liking it. I'm guess I don't see what others are seeing. Thank you for recognizing that we can think different things.

I'll be honest, I was sort of looking forward to where the series was going to go once they got off the God/Amara stuff but it sadly lost me again.

I just found it really entertaining; the hilariously bad fight scene seemed quite purposeful to me and I got a laugh out of it. It helped that angel-Dean gave us a bad-ass image right before that to compensate for the bad wire fighting.

Saying that, there were some things that didn't work for me this season that others seemed to enjoy (the film-noir episode, the corny stuff with Rowena / Gabriel and just general weirdness that episode) so I can understand why others might not have been entertained by the corniness in the finale.

To each their own corniness.

One thing I've never liked about this show (and lots of other shows, really) is that incredibly powerful beings will show up and just throw people around and/or use soft punches on the main characters, even though we've already seen them instantly kill things that are supposed to be stronger than the main characters previously.

Like, Michael shows up and just backhands Castiel and shoves Sam into a wall. Just kill them, dude.

Yes, my wife and I affectionately shout "grab and toss!" any time Sam or Dean go up against a being that could literally snap their fingers and evaporate them, but they get smacked around instead. Which is just about every week.

Anyway I really enjoyed the finale, WIRE BATTLE aside. Jack really became a favorite for us, hope he sticks around a good while.

That's cause the MC's got that super super super durable armor of plot sewn into their flannel. So it's very difficult for any super OP being to just break through that with ease.

I appreciate that they tried something different for the Dean/Lucifer fight scene but it did not look good.
They once again tried to rip off DBZ, but on that Dietary CW budget, you aren't going to get a good aerial fight scene. But I couldn't help but laugh at that final freeze frame shot of smug Dean. haaaaaaaaaaaaaa. If comedy was what they were going for, then it worked for me

Supernatural: The Complete Thirteenth Season on Blu-ray and DVD will be released on September 4, 2018. The special features include:

  • Mystery Mash-Up: The Making of Scoobynatural
  • Into The Apocalypse: A World Without The Winchesters
  • The Winchester Mythology: Rise of the Nephilim
  • Kansas – Carry On Wayward Son: Performance and the Supernatural panel at 2017 San Diego Comic-Con
  • Gag reel and deleted scenes
  • Commentary on selected episodes.

Think they may of accidentally shown us a sneak peek of that gag reel/deleted scene in final 5 minutes this episode.

Marathoned the last five or so episodes today. Really loved the season and what they setup with the finale. The fight was cheesy but oh well. I've really enjoyed what they've done with the show the last handful of seasons.

I'm so far back. I haven't watched since Scoobynatural. Hopefully what I missed will end up being good; I just haven't felt like watching more of the Lucifer/Rowena/other dimension stuff.

I also recorded a couple of classic episodes from around 2005 and am more excited to watch them.

So far this season has been okay, but the show really needs to reboot itself a bit and go back to just being the boys and maybe Cas.
