tbh I completely zoned out earlier this season and have a horrible memory of the rest. How are there 2 fitz again?

Time paradox. One is currently frozen waiting to be awoken in the future and a duplicate came back with the others from the future.

Ughhhh my poor tear ducts... I wonder how shield will be without Coulson :'(

He'll be fine next season. They'll find another way in the season premiere next year to keep him alive.

The one that slept for 90 years is still in space on Enoch's ship at this time.

What, completely disagree.

Fitz froze himself in time to reach the team. And said team went back in time, so now there's two of them.

He was the only one not brought to the future by the monolith. His first appearance this season saw him rejoin the rest of the cast by entering suspended animation and being hidden in space.

Ahhh now i remember that. Thanks!

Fuuuuuuuu,
I fell asleep during act 1 when Coulson was in medical, and woke up in the final act to see someone buried in rubble. Guess I have to watch this again tomorrow morning >:-(

They had the IW ending incorporated, then the release date changed and things wouldn't work - http://ew.com/tv/2018/05/18/agents-of-shield-coulson-fitz-death-infinity-war-finale/

That certainly explains two specific foreshadows that didn't pay off.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You guys had been hinting at possibly incorporating the Infinity War ending. Why didn't we see that in the finale?
JED WHEDON: There's some of that we can't answer.
JEFF BELL: Part of what happened was, they changed the release date.
WHEDON: Yeah.
BELL: And we move at a different schedule than they do and so suddenly everything was a week earlier, and so we had to make some adjustments and that's how we end up with our story.
WHEDON: Right. And the other thing is that there's certain story points that are so — there would really be no way for us to address it and keep our show intact. Given that there's another movie coming out, and there's gonna be constant repercussions of their universe, so what we felt was that the safe play for our story, and for the integrity of our universe, was to operate outside of it.

damn, that legitimately felt like a series finale

like, if SHIELD didn't get another season, I would have been 100% satisfied with that as the sendoff

I'm still standing by my earlier theory of what the extra scene Chloe filmed post-wrap was - a reshoot of a scene a few episodes ago to better work around the movie.

Good finale, definitely felt like a nice bow on things. Coulson and May off in the sunset, rest of the team flying off. I like the open-endedness of Deke's departure. Honestly, I'll call that the end - Season 6 and beyond is just a victory lap.

I call bullshit on everyone saying they would've been satisfied with that as a series finale. Y'all are just saying that because you know there will be another season. If it really was the series finale y'all would be upset they're on their way to get frozen Fitz and didn't actually see it.

Basically they said IW ending and A4 happens between end of S5 and beginning of S6. So if anyone got dusted today, those would be back right from the beginning of S6. That would feel wrong in their opinion.

I don't blame them, it would feel awkward

Or, or, people would've been satisfied lol

If Fitz was permanently dead, that'd be one thing, but they got frozen Fitz. I don't particularly feel an absolute need to see their reunion, though obviously it'd be nice.

Yeah that is very likely the case. I have a strong suspicion the events of A4 will
reverse the events at the end of IW. Whether people will remember what happens is another story of course

Coulson ending up in Tahiti was the planned ending for the series since the beginning.

How important was it for you guys to end up in Tahiti?
BELL: Well, we've known that since forever.
TANCHAROEN: Forever.
BELL: Since we started, since episode 1.
WHEDON: We thought it was a beautiful image and we all latched on. It's one of the things where you don't overthink it. We latched onto that and went, "That will be great." It's an emotional thing for him. We even heard from Mike Peterson that this was something he always wanted. Our big mystery in episode 1 was, "Never been to Tahiti." He doesn't know, and he can never know. And here he is, finding some sort of peace on that beach. We love that image and we were solid on it all the way.

One way to keep Son of Coul at least kinda in is, if S6 plot resolves heavily about something from past (looking at you Captain Marvel) with fair amount of flashbacks.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S6 |OT| "I hope they remember you Coulson."

Just put that in the vault.

Basically "it all magically happens before IW ends because we thought the show was going to end."

Pretty much this.

This isn't a "Marvel TV and Studios don't talk" thing. Even if that were true, the writers had the ability to include IW's ending in this episode. It wouldn't make sense to end the series with people disappearing.

Sucks. I wish they had the renewal news earlier.

That being said, the premiere next year should be interesting, especially if "summer" is a couple weeks before Avengers 4.

Alright, here goes, my opinion DEFINITELY didn't change after this fantastic finale:

S4 > S5 > S3 > S2 > S1

Maybe you could make an argument for S2 over S3, but S5 is better than either of them, don't @ me.

http://ew.com/tv/2018/05/18/agents-of-shield-clark-gregg-exit/

However, with the show now renewed for a 13-episode sixth season, set to air next summer, EW asked Gregg whether it feels weird to think Coulson's story might continue after such a touching ending — and fans might not like his answer.

"I don't get any sense that it will," Gregg says. "It doesn't feel weird to me that it might go forward because I don't know that that's the case."

Alas, Gregg says there's no official news on whether his character will be back. "I know that they've picked up the show, I don't know if it includes me," he says. "I don't know if it'll just be me in flashbacks or sexy dreams with Agent May."

Yeah, Coulson will be fine. Haha.

I never got why people split up seasons for their rankings, it's all or nothing for me.

Sexy dreams with Agent May is never a bad thing.

I'm just imagining that while Coulson and May and in Tahiti, Mack & co. are retrieving Fitz Prime, and Bobbi and Hunter are back together...

Deke is sightseeing Niagara Falls and gets dusted, dropping the lemon from his hand.

Better yet...

Coulson watches May get dusted then dies alone.

Mine is meaner.

Daisy got that power creep. Unsure how she'd survive being power bombed from a couple thousand feet in the air. Question is, was the serum a temporary thing, or is she officially avenger level power.

My final rankings:

S4 > S2 > S5 > S3 > S1

4, 2 and 5 are so damn close to each other, it feels unfair to even rank them. But man, what an incredible finale. After the brilliant S4, that season finale felt a little rushed and disappointing to me. But S5, even though it didn't hit the highs of S4, went out on an absolutely incredible note.

I'm chuckling at:
Daisy getting a yamcha hole
Daisy finally kills Talbot, after her LMD tried to.
Talbot gets a Nathan Petrelli flight cloud on his way to space
