I guess that's fair, although I just have no idea when the final episode is supposed to take place if the previous episodes happened during the first battle. Since it's a "happy" ending, I guess before Thanos comes to Earth.

I'll try to keep this to one post: I haven't had a chance to actually watch the finale yet, but I gather I can say "I told you so."

Hopefully now everyone can acknowledge the Marvel Television/Marvel Studios relationship for what it is, and certain occasional insiders can drop their asinine strawmen.

Graviton. Gravitron sounds like that faux Megatron in Transformers the Movie (the actual one, from the 80's)

I'll add, nicely done, VFX, not just how it looks, but continuity looks good. Both the flaming car and the dark color building match between the 2 camera angles.

this was like the one nice bit of special effects the whole episode haha. i love it.

Or you can leave the thread and stop consistently trying to start nonsense arguments.

Do you actually watch the show or do you just come in here to argue with people about the inner workings of Marvel Studios?

Just finished .

It was quite cool but S5 is inferior to S4.
Very nice finale , no doubt

Talbot was excellent in his role and coulson didn't do much , but he did what he had to.

I'm ok with this.

I don't think i would have enjoyed this finale as is , if i didn't know that a S6 was happenning but right now i'm quite happy .
Right now , there are some nice story to tell , especially if shield get back to the spotlight.

They literally stated in the interview that they knew the ending.

lol. if you and other folks are free to argue that the show "had to" or would "obviously" incorporate the IW ending or even that anyone who suggests otherwise is denying that the show is set in the same universe as the films, I'm free to argue the opposite, and you're free to not like my posts in return. nice backseat modding, though.

They literally stated in the interview that they knew the ending.

lmao. I've seen the same interviews you have, and there is not one where they actually say this; that's just your very liberal interpretation of the part you quoted. but carry on

the release date excuse doesn't even make logical or logistical sense - the IW release date change was only a month and a half before filming on the season wrapped, and even if that was enough time to drastically change the story, why on earth would that necessitate drastic changes? The show would be an additional week behind IW, so spoilers would be even less of a concern than they might be otherwise

I kind of hope they don't include Coulson and May in season 6 - this was the perfect ending for them (it would also enable them to save on the budget:).

I knew the end of infinity war long before seeing it too, and I don't talk to Marvel, it was not exactly rocket science.
Neither was the idea that the consequences of that movie weren't happening in shield in a finale, season or series.

So whatever happened to that scene with a special someone that Chloe Bennet mentioned? I was totally expecting that to be the final scene after the Shield logo shows up...

Whew, this episode left me with all kinds of feels.

I'm a little sad they couldn't save Gravitalbot. All he wanted to do was save everyone. Deke disappearing halfway through the episode was a little weird but I guess they just wanted to leave his fate open. Also #YoYoWasRight. I was one of the people calling Fitz's fate back when he took the long way to the future but that didn't make it sting any less when it happened!

Daisy must have been absorbed in the bad timeline and Gravitalbot quaked the planet apart with her powers - then they died out in space anyway. That's an awful way to go. This probably sounds weird but I wanted an episode where the loop was intact we got to see the start of the bad future properly and find out what happened to all the characters that survived there.

It should be time to let Daisy join the avengers, maybe that was a nick fury cameo somehow.
She wouldn't even feel out of place

Yep. This was the answer all along. If they saved Coulson, Quake would have been absorbed and the the world would have been torn apart.

"Stop making me the bad guy."

Rewatching the episode. Yo-Yo brought the feels tonight.

Wouldn't it be fucked up if Frozen Fitz gets dusted before they could even get to him....

Good finale but yeah, I think IW kinda lessened the impact of this. After all this, it's likely for nothing and the hope spot will be for nothing. But I wonder how S6 will do things with the short run.

I now think everyone but Coulson, May and Daisy survive the snap.

Yeah but why didn't Coulson take the serum this time? We've been led to believe that "Coulson being saved," is what leads to the destruction of the world, presumably future Yo Yo was referring to the exchange where they had to choose between saving Coulson and killing Graviton. And in her timeline, they save him, and then he and Daisy encounter Talbot together or whatever and one way or another they lose and he blows everyone up. The fine details there aren't super important. All we know is that Yo Yo watches the world end, and thinks "if we had used the serum to kill Graviton this wouldn't have happened."

So what's the actual thing that changed? Is it really just "Coulson chose not to take it?" If so, why? We've been led to believe that this shit has been looping a few times already, right? What did Yo Yo do differently this time that she didn't do previous times? What was the chain reaction that resulted in Coulson making that choice, when he didn't up until now?

I just wish they had been more explicit about the predicating event, since "how do we break the loop" was such a fundamentally huge question all season long.

Where the sun shines
Deke probably didn't have much to do in the finale because (IW spoiler)
In the initial season drafts before IW was moved up and they excised the snap and went for a series ending, he probably didn't make it to the end.

So whatever happened to that scene with a special someone that Chloe Bennet mentioned? I was totally expecting that to be the final scene after the Shield logo shows up...
I believe these are connected. It allows deke to potentially show up next season
