John Cena made the trek down to San Diego to try to win Nikki Bella back, but as we reported ... it may take more than just AAdvantage Miles.

Nikki and John were spotted together in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego Saturday, strolling down the street after getting their fix of java.

John has been on a unrelenting campaign to win Nikki back ... after she broke up with himbecause he would not budge on the issue of having children.

Nikki told us a few days ago she now believes John has had a change of heart and would like for her to have his kids, but she says all the drama has made her question the relationship. She told us she loves John and would like things to work out, but she needs time to think.

It's overcast in Southern California, so we don't know if John commissioned a skywriting plane.

Nikki Bella and John Cena just couldn't quit each other. Just over one month after the longtime couple announced their split, Bella and Cena are officially on the road to reconciliation.

"They're basically back together," a source close to the situation tells PEOPLE.

Bella called off her engagement to Cena, 40, in April — three weeks before they were meant to walk down the aisle. Sources previously told PEOPLE that her decision to call it quits was due to their differing stances on marriage and having kids: She wanted a family, but he was hesitant.

"This was never really about ending their relationship— it was about calling off a wedding because something didn't feel right," the source says. "It was a wedding that was entered into under false pretenses. She was pretending she was okay with not having a kid, he was pretending he absolutely couldn't and wouldn't budge on that point."

On Saturday, Bella, 34, and Cena, 41, were spotted out together for the first since their split.

"They both got a wake-up call once they canceled the wedding, and they both realized they could fix what was broken," the source explains.

If only there were some kind of weekly spot on television, what they might call a show but with the illusion of a sort of reality... sort of a "reality show" ...
That is a free one, someone can use that one day... and if this "reality show" could cover this up and down relationship turmoil only to eventually lead to the pre-determined happy ending (not in the here to fore known as a massage term , no in this case it would mean bringing the show to a closure that would make viewers happy).
I think there could be a spot of success with that
