Huh, i just discovered there are 10 more chapters to read lol

Interesting you say this, because Ippo's 'goodbye' seemed pretty definitive back there, seems weird he wants to take him back.
I hope it doesn't happen striaght away, maybe we see him coaching, or maybe he does come back, but only later on.
It's being built up slowly, but it's clearly happening. There's even a short time skip. I think it's just coming down to Ippo needing time to heal properly and finally getting it.

Any suggestions for a "dungeon" setting manga ?

I guess in the same concept as Danmachi, but wondering if there's something out there with more"floor/level" progression through it.

Like the others say, Dungeon Meshi. There are a number of levels, which usually have a theme. The stated hook is cooking up monsters, but the scope quickly expands to the ecology/economy of a dungeon.

Pretty decent manga, Hajime is a cute lead and cute alien, makes me wish we had more alien boy in manga as he was fun all around. I think this is the right amount of goofy and high school life that could be pleasing. The Hajime on Aiba scene was a bit much though, dont know if we needed to go in that route.

Alienase skit was the most funny part.

Hinomaru Zumou 170 and 171

This is unexpected! The seeds had always been planted that Reina and Ushio might get together, but I never thought it would be anything that the quick pair up at the end that you see in a lot of shonen series. Chapter listed the volume contents and it looks like they are spending at least five chapters on it here which is exciting.
It's hilarious that it is framed like a fight here, same with the chapter titles. Would be cool if they started dating before the series end but this is shonen jump so I won't get my hopes up lol. Just happy to see the author write about some things outside of sumo wrestling.
:(

Very impressed with how this series has transitioned from part 1 to part 2. It hasn't been many chapters and we already had a new obstacle for Ushio (injury), a hype fight, the exploration of new ideas, and the introduction of Jinou, who has been excellent and probably is already the best "antagonist" we've seen in the series so far. Speaking of Jinou, I really like the angle that is being approached by him. It's pretty compelling to have him, as the best sumo wrestler, struggling with being under appreciated because he is not Japanese. Wouldn't have thought the story would go there. It looks like we will also get to see his relationship with his wife next chapter, and based on the last page here that should be amusing.

Yuuma's goal to be a sports doctor is fun too.

Chidori is a great design and Watanuki came back too, I think the three males so far are compelling. I hope all pass these tests and form a team maybe?

Seven Deadly Sins Man what a good set of chapters. Got a nice set up for what I think is going to be an intense throwdown and also got to see what Ban's been up to.

Promised Neverland I love Lewis so god damn much. His get-up is the coolest. His mask is the coolest. I kinda wish there was more talking since this series really works best characters are conversing and as this arc has proven, does really do action that terribly well, but whatever.

The use of the room fan was the most amusing since that Sket Dance chapter. Otherwise this was just alright.

RxL 57
My percents above 100 pet peeve. Probably going to happen in every significant match in this series. At least the bread panel was fairly funny.

Momiji no Kisetsu 2
Still good. Really like the leaves motif as a visual.

Food Wars 263
lol at characters still claiming that Azami's plan made any sense. Next couple chapters should be interesting to see where the series goes from here. Can't imagine they'd end it without a big Megumi win...

I like how the labels for everything are listed as Senku's cellphone.

Planet With 1+2

Set in modern(?) Japan, this new Satoshi Mizukami manga sees the protagonist, Souya, a kid with amnesia who was adopted by a maid and a giant mascot cat, wake up from a prophetic dream, most likely a past memory, and follows with him trying to integrate in his new school. His classmate Megami tries to integrate him better but it seems like he wants none of it. Soon after a giant UFO (that looks like a giant doll with a bunch of human parts attached to it) show up and the army tries to stop him, only for all missiles launched at it to turn into cotton, and in retaliation the UFO glows, and shows the pilot pleasant memories of his family, which prompts him to give up.

Shortly after we are shown a team of heroes preparing for a stand-off against this being, as they turn into bright lights and go into the horizon to met their foe. Each turn into a mech while Souya is told by the maid that he is to goo meet them. Not as a hero, but as an antagonist, and with that we get into chapter 2.

Chapter 2 starts with the initial clash between the UFO and the heroes, and they make the point of not showing their bodies to this enemy. The UFO retaliates with the glow, ineffectively, and the by throwing smaller dolls at them, that ca indeed damage them with the same cotton transformation the missiles had. One of the heroes, Torai, finds an entrance on the back if its head and proceeds to go in. Inside, he is shown memories of his mother's death, and it's influence on his decision of becoming a fire fighter. In this illusion, his mother is till alive, but once he realizes whats happening, he transforms back into his mech form and destroys the enemy from within, hitting the figure of his mother, and as he does so his mech takes considerable damage.

As the heroes scatter, Souya finds Torai, and confronts him, demanding for his power to be returned (as instructed by the cat sensei). Upon refusal, the cat swallows Souya and transforms into a smaller mech. Torai also transforms, and a small battle ensues. The faster, smaller mech wins, as he smashes Torai's into cotton. Upon defeat the power is claimed, in the form of a small necklace with a small container of dust(?). As he grabs it, Souya regains some of his memories and vows to defeat the heroes, now with real conviction. Chapter ends with a final boss vibey teaser.

The first Chapter starts slow like most of Mizukami's works, but is enough to establish the main character and his supporting cast, but i feel like it's missing a premise. At first i thought it would be the recovery of Souya's memories, but he gained them back, partially or not, in chapter 2. Regardless, it has potential, especially considering those introspection scenes relating to the UFO. The art is ok, closer to Spirit Circle than Hoshi no Samidare, but themech designs are interesting, more so the heroes side.

I'll keep reading it since its Mizukami, but even if it wasnt, I'd have still kept at it for the moment.

I'm glad the Azami arc is finally over. I basically haven't read any chapters since it started. I tuned into the latest chapter and I see Erina is headmaster and Soma is 1st seat. =.='....

Baki Dou 1-75

75 chapters into baki dou, a coupla things are clear
1. mangaka finally let his assistant take over art duties, and so everything looks *much* better
2. they're still shit at presenting female characters
3. you thought that resurrecting a caveman for WRASSLING during Baki: Son Of Ogre was top stupidity? Well, they've cloned and spirit transplanted miyamoto musashi for this one.

somehow, its the best the book's ever been. Which doesnt mean much, but is enough to bring it back to Fun Read status.

Ohhhhh my goooood I love this series

Binged all of the available volumes this past week because of a sale and I fell in love with the series all over again. Now I want to go in for a second watch of the anime.

Something I missed in my first watch (I think I was half-asleep at the time, don't @ me) was that Phos naturally attracts Lunarians just by being there, which made it so much harder to read about Phos's failures again.

Bort is best gem by the way.

So I just finished reading Kangoku Gakuen, it's been a long time coming for me and it was one hell of a ride, but I'm really really dissapointed in the ending. The final chapters leading up to it were perfect, then the final chapter happened and I feel betrayed. It felt like everything I'd just read was for nothing :(

Shimanami Tasogare 21-23 (END)

That last chapter was beautiful. But man this felt like the publisher told them to wrap it up and just end it. There was so much room for more character development. Absolute shame. This is one of the few manga that takes LGBT themes seriously while also being a good drama. Highly recommend

Does it go all the way with a gay pairing or end or is it one of those that teases and steps back at the end stage.

Well do you mean outside the established pairings? Cause it ends with the two women's wedding.

If you mean just the main character, It flashes forward a year and they both are like "oh we were so busy we couldn't talk much." I'm going to guess it left their relationship unsettled to leave open the possibility of a sequel manga.

How close to the Japanese release is it? Like, is there a substantial gap between reading the official English translation and the release of the Japanese chapters?
The volumes are behind a bit but the official translations release on the same day as Japan with viz shonen jump

Actually I realize my original question didn't really have any qualifiers. Between HeroAca and OPM, which one is more of a detailed look at a world of superheroes and which one has more nuanced characters? Is One Punch Man more of a comedy than a straight up superhero story or does it eventually start having its own plot? Do either of them succumb to bloat like a lot of Shonen?
