Correct. It is super easy to manually back up your saves though. I just create a shortcut to the save directory on my desktop they just copy the file from the directory to your desktop. This is obviously not as convenient as auto backup but better than nothing...
This is the best starter advice, imo. It's one thing to cheese the dragon in Demon's Souls/random shit in the other games but the Drake Sword should be called "The Crutch." It's fun to kill him for shits and giggles and the temporary boost but new people might get the wrong impression of the game because of how boring and weak it eventually becomes.to the people playing for the first time, try not to use the Drake sword...you'll become over-reliant on it thinking it's too good but then you'll reach a point where it sucks and you're screwed if you don't have another better weapon
Any research on the sound issues, where areas have no ambient sound?
If a hacker wrecks your character save via an exploit, it will wreck your cloud save as well. This is why manual backups are so important.
Hmm, did they add a "favourites" for character creations like in DS3 and Bloodborne?
Only very "fantasy" spiders, no "realistic" ones in this one like in DS2 and Bloodborne.Ok I know about the chaos witch, but I have a question. Please don't laugh.
are there spiders in this game
Some guy invaded me, broke my equipment, cursed me, and infected me with an egg with some fire attack. I'm turning off the online mode.
I had never seem any sure cheater in more than 3 hundred hours of the Prepare to Die version.
I can probably deal with that. Bloodborne fucked me right up toward the end of the game with that mess. Like if they're popping out of ceilings and out of nowhere I'm gonna flip out lmaoOnly very "fantasy" spiders, no "realistic" ones in this one like in DS2 and Bloodborne.
it's been 6 years since Dark Souls came out, there have been 4 games on different engines, all of them sharing the same flaws, plagued with the same amount of cheaters and script kiddies, and all of them pulling off the same destructive actions: it's time FromSoft fixed their own games without relying on the efforts of the community. Besides, the presence of their in-house "anti-tampering" solution has proven, over the years, how any third-party approach only nets innocent players softbans and troubles. Any tool I could come up with would only get you flagged.
Remastered is being dumped on with the Steam reviews, so far they are 'mixed':

The NES of game engines. It's hard to believe, but the game speed of the remaster is tied to the frame rate - therefore if the frame rate drops so does the speed of the game.
This is, to put it mildly, absurd.

Looks like im holding off on this then. Not that I've seen, only this reddit thread -

O.oI have 1000+ hours played on PC and I have only encountered a handful of hackers/cheaters but a couple of them were pretty nasty. I was once punched by an invader which cursed me, broke every single equippable item in my inventory then teleported me to the middle of Ash Lake to fall to my death. I always keep a manual backup of my save just in case...
The 50% off should be permanent for owners of DS:PtDE.Looks like im holding off on this then.
Anyone know if the 50% price discount is permanent or timed for PC?
It was always my understanding that the drake sword is really a fairly bad idea for newcomers at least. Its power comparative to the early game lets you get away with a lot of bad gameplay habits that you'll end up regretting later in the game, not to mention other weapons you could have been getting good at using will outrun it with enough upgrading.

Not possible right now? What country can download this now via Xbox store? Wanna change my region
I really want to buy this but I'm worried about cheaters messing up my game, is there a guide to making manual save backups? Will you still be softbanned even if you use that? Does the Steam version have the day one patch already?
Very small yet cool addition, second bell now rings for everyone if someone rings it, like the Parish bell.
The bell was ringing not stop last night was amazing never heard it like that before
So you just do that, what, every 30 minutes or so so you don't lose a ton of progress? To backup you just need to copy the file in documents\nbgi\DARK SOULS REMASTERED to anywhere. It's hard to know about day one patches on Steam because it downloads everything in one go instead of downloading the base games and the patches later on.
Post screenshots :DHoly shit! Look at all those summon signs. This is fucking grand...
No it's not out yet. People are playing on Steam.
guys, question as i am unfamiliar with PSN purchasing before launch. i have 40 bucks on this at GS. could i just refund that, put it toward 2 20$ cards and put it from the PSN store? I dont know how taxation works in this scenario but i have a 20% off code ready to use, is that enough?
The game is $40 digital right? So yeah if you refunded the $40 you put down on the physical copy then you would have enough for the digital copy unless you somehow live somewhere where digital purchases are taxed more than that 20% off code you have.guys, question as i am unfamiliar with PSN purchasing before launch. i have 40 bucks on this at GS. could i just refund that, put it toward 2 20$ cards and put it from the PSN store?
